posted a message on Player seemingly cannot load any modpacks

I have a friend, who I've convinced to try Minecraft. In exchange he convinced me to try League. But that's besides the point.
I tried getting my friend onto one of my modpacks, distributed via the curse launcher.
However, when he pressed "play" or "launch" on the minecraft launcher or whatever, the game didnt open. The launcher closed and reopen, with only a few lines of log, and no crash, or crash report.
This is the last line the launcher feed gave:

[21:03:19] [main/WARN] [FML/]: The coremod codechicken.core.launch.CodeChickenCorePlugin does not have a MCVersion annotation, it may cause issues with this version of Minecraft

I have uploaded all his log files, the lnk to them is here:
    https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/182337284/logs.zip

Note: I also had him try another of my modpacks, this time in 1.10.2, and the same issue occured. However, he can boot up vanilla, and a clean installation of minecraftforge, both on curse and in the standard minecraft.

Finally, I had him install forge onto the vanilla minecraft launcher, before having him take my config, mods, Flan, and scripts folder (which works for me, and my two other friends - this is for the 1.7.10 pack that I made - not THE 1.7.10 pack). Needless to say, it didn't work either.

    Any idea why this happens?

posted a message on Need a group to play with

    Hello everyone!
The purpose of this post is to find a group of people to play with, people who are interested in mods and such, play on a regular basis and who could play over something like skype or discord. I really like modpacks, I like making maps and stuff, (im semidecent at command blocks and whatnot, and pretty good at making modpacks. Also starting to learn java through John purcells tutorials). Minecraft is my main game, but I like other games like Rust and, well, No Mans Sky looks great.
So ya, I was just hoping to find a group of people who are as into Minecraft as i am and like playing with others

    Thanks!

posted a message on Looking for a group of people to play modpacks and mods with

Title says it all, Im just looking for some people who are into playing modded survival and the like, and who share interest in mods like Mekanism, IC2, Thaumcraft, AM2, etc.
Ive always thought about having a group of people to play with over skype or whatnot, I guess this is the day I finally came to start trying to make it happen.

(Idea) Maybe the sealed glow-stone could be used to make like a tool that is not as strong as diamond (Since its not all that rare) but it could last a bit longer! Just an idea though.

I think I'd rather keep this mod just this. There's enough tool mods out there imo.

Hello, I was wondering whether a higher or lower SpawnRate in the ProjectZuluMobBiomeConfig.cfg file would increase spawns, thanks.

In the MobBiome config, how does SpawnRate work?
Does higher number increase or decrease spawns?
How does the number affect the calculation exactly?
    Thanks!

posted a message on FAQ for Nevermine 2: Advent Of Ascension

Well.. I attempted to generate a world with highlands, AoA, Twilight Forest and the Between Lands, after resolving biome id conflicts of course. Generating the world, well, it takes all 10GB of my games allocated RAM (normally I only allocate 4GB) and, well, it's been generating the world for 20 minutes.
    And Im not running on a potato here, im running an i7 4790k OC'd to 4.7Ghz, a GTX 770 (k I guess that's pretty awful), and 16GB of DDR3 2133mhz Ram (Cas latency 9).
Any ideas as to why this is happening?

    Seal-able Glowstone Mod

The Seal-able Glowstone Mod is pretty simple, and is my first mod! All it adds is one new block an an item to craft it with, and that block is, you guessed it: Sealable Glowstone.
The Sealed Glowstone emits the same amount of light as regular glowstone, but you can break it with your fist (or any tool) and get the entire item back!

Recipes are quite simple, here they are:

Also, the problem Witchery has with IDs over 127 is a vanilla bug....that DragonAPI also fixes.

DragonAPI didn't fix it for me, so I just found some available ID values below 127 :P
And I was using the latest version, v15a. Keep up the good work with your mods though. Never tried ChromatiCraft but it seems like a very interesting mod. Might do a playthrough with only that, chicken chunks and NEI and see how it works out.

Wow. Brilliant work. This was one of my favorite mods. Good to see it revived. Some of the recipes could use work though. I personally changed them myself using minetweaker :p.
I could only imagine if Calclavia MFFS was updated to 1.7.10 as well. I'd kill for that.

Pretty sure you still need pack permissions, even for Curse packs.

Ive been told by other mod authors that in order to upload anything on curse you consent to its distribution on the curse platform.

The page explicitly states that simply stating "I agree" is insufficient, causing me to doubt you read it.

The I agree was at the bottom of the page, just checked now. Apologies if I didn't read to the last letter. The 6 rules were in a completely different part of the page. I would have used official versions, wouldn't have claimed any credit, wouldn't have profited, would not have modify anything in your mods, or rehosted them. And my users would not have been permitted to reupload and distribute the pack (although, would that allow me to have a github page for my pack)
However, since getting the mod, I found the issue was not with potion ID space, but that witchery simply didn't like IDS over 127, even if the array was extended. So, I no longer require the mod for the modpack.
Thanks for replying quite quickly though, back when a certain modder required permission requests I sent him one and he still hasn't replied :p. However, the license for his mods have since changed to AGPLv3.

Just a question, why do you keep your mods under a license that requires permissions for modpack distribution? Is it because of the traffic from issues related to mod conflicts and not the mod itself? Since your mods are on curse though, I believe they are allowed for curse modpacks as per their terms when you upload a mod. What made you decide to allow open distribution through curse?
