    I've yet to experience this bug, Is this in SMP or SSP? Or maybe it doesn't even matter.

    GIANT bug! I have gone into the nether about 4 or 5 times now, and every time I come back into the overworld, my character falls under the world and dies.

    This is on my own SMP server.

    Edit: I'd love to hear if anybody else is also experiencing a death-on-return-from-the-void bug.

    On a SMP server, in an NPC village, if you manually create an iron golem, with 4 blocks of iron and a pumpkin, will that player-created golem also protect the villagers in the village it was created in, or do only game-generated golems protect villagers?

    This quote from the Minecraft Wiki threw me off a bit:

    Iron Golems created by the player will not attack the player; in SMP however, they may attack the player if the server has restarted. Any Iron Golems generated through other means will not defend any Villagers, and have a habit of wandering off.


    "Iron golems generated through other means", what other means? They're either generated by the player or naturally via there being enough villagers, no?

    I ran into a weird bug tonight. Now I'm wishing I had taken a screen shot.

    I was sprinting down a 1x2 hallway of a strip mine I had made, and I was repeatedly hitting jump to move even faster, and eventually, my hallway somehow just cut off into the void. I even got to the edge of the hallway, where it appeared to spill out into the void, and I held shift, and it stopped me from going forward, so I would have died apparently had I kept moving forward, even though there should have been a good bit of hallway remaining in front of me. I was a little paranoid, as further down the hallway was my central hub area, where all my stuff is stored, and I thought my world had gotten corrupted or something. I don't think I took a screenshot... DOH! I may go see if I can duplicate the bug.

    Edit: Just tried to duplicate it, and I wasn't able to. Very odd bug though.

    Are you serious?
    you download it, Name it system32, find your original System32, Delete it, then place the jar.


    Just in case... don't do what this guy is telling you to do, it will screw up your entire system.

    Lighting bugs... very annoying. Those black patches are EVERYWHERE. You have to get right up on them, and sometimes they fix themselves, but not always.

    I can confirm this, at least for signs that have already been placed. When placing signs for the first time, you can write on them, but once they've been placed, you can't right click on them and edit the text. I believe you used to be able to do this.

    What's the general opinion on Emeralds at the moment? Are they even that useful? Do villagers even have things that are worth spending emeralds on? I thought maybe they could be used to make a really powerful, or useful potion. Maybe you could combine them with a tool to restore that tools durability by a significant amount or something. Or maybe a blacksmith villager could fully restore a tool/weapon/etc for like 10 emeralds, or something like that.

    Get updated to a playable 1.2.5. Come to this thread, and click on the download link here - http://bit.ly/LDyAMg

    Save that single file, the minecraft.jar file, to your .minecraft/bin folder, and say "yes" when it asks if you want to overwrite the old file. Load up Minecraft and do NOT force update. You should have 12w26a at that point.

    delete the minecraft.jar file and reconnect and it should automatically download 1.2.5 (or whatever is current at the time)

    Remember Tetris? That was about as basic a game as you can get, but it was fun, and it certainly was bug-free. A complicated mess is much less enjoyable than something simplistic that "just works". Quality over quantity... I think this update shows that Mojang is doing it RIGHT!

    Not sure if this is a bug, or what's going on, but I've enchanted 3 or 4 bows now at lvl 30 (which is max lvl, right?) and I keep getting Power III (3), and I believe Power 5 is the max. I'm wondering if this is working as intended, like Power 5 is rare, even at 30, or not.
