I also think Minecraft is boring. Not enough good updates, and no motivation to continue playing. I feel like the should have abandoned the game before the 1.12 update, and started work on something else. It can be "fun" if your playing with friends, but it's usually extremely boring. Plus, the launcher is garbage and I cant even get the game to run most of the time. At most, Minecraft would get a 4/10 from me.
Terraria on the other hand is an absolute masterpiece of a game. 300+ hours of content, endless replayability, thousands of items and blocks, a beautiful art style, and very talented developers. I could go on forever about how good it is. 10/10. I would greatly recommend terraria instead of minecraft. Plus, it's on steam and it has it's own modding system, called tmodloader.
