    A sponge removing lava is a little far fetched but perhaps a "water sponge" could release a contained amount of water within a sponges normal range.

    Although at the moment I don't think it's possible to get water or lava behave in a set area without some real sponges. =[

    Yes sitting down does sound like a nice idea. It would add a nice little detail to player to player interactions.
