posted a message on Is my CPU causing Minecraft to lag?
Hello all! The problem was my processor! I just upgraded to an AMD FX-8350 (Eight-Core 4.0GHz) and now I am over 300FPS! My computer is much more stable too! Thanks everybody for helping me out!

And yes, I was planning to upgrade it anyways for video editing, so no worries or waste of money / time!

I actually did try that, and it didn't change anything. I even let it load all the chunks around me, and the FPS didn't increase.

    Hello chasingfire_hpps!

    1) No, he is on Fancy graphics. Everything is to the highest quality possible.
    2) I just tried that, it doesn't seem to work... :(

Hi there. Sorry for your troubles.

I'm not sure how much further you can go diagnosing the problem
    1) Have you tried fullscreen mode? It will probably yield better performance.
    2) Neither CPU seems to be of the best performance from the benchmarks I've just looked at. Your Phenom II may be the problem, but don't quote me.
    3) Are you both using the same drivers?

If it's actually vSync problems, then make sure:
If you're using OptiFine, try without. It seems that it still pays attention to the vSync option in the options.txt, but doesn't actually give any way of toggling it.

If you're replying, please quote me.

I'll answer all of your questions:

    1) Yes, I've tried Fullscreen mode. It does make a difference, though minor.
    2) I'm thinking it is, because mine's a lot older (around 3 years). His is just barely a year old, and apparently there were some major optimizations over the past few years...
    3) We are both on the latest driver revision.

I have tried with Optifine and without. Optifine tends to make it worse, actually. So I avoid it. I'm pretty sure that it isn't vSync because sometimes it will stay at around 70 or 80 FPS. But that's on a lucky day. I average at around 40 FPS, which does not seem right. I've also tried reinstalling Java, but that has done nothing of help.

I'm actually going to be upgrading to an 8-core processor relatively soon, so maybe that will solve the issue. I'm not really sure why mine's been slow though. Again, I've had this computer for a while, so maybe that's why.

Is there anything else that you could suggest doing? I'm stumped. I've never had this issue before, so I don't know where to go next.

Actually, it isn't. FPS matters to me, I want to know what my computer is capable of. I also play on my TV, and it's 120Hertz (my computer outputs at 120Hz, according to the AMD Catalyst Control Center. 120FPS is at least what I want to achieve. How come I can't get as high as my friend? Is it the CPU?

Hello all! My friend and I both recently purchased the R9 270X graphics card for each of our computers. While his computer in Minecraft reached a new FPS of over 300 frames per second, my card is still stuck at around 60 frames per second. YES, I DID TURN OFF MY VSYNC IN GAME AND IN THE AMD CATALYST CONTROL CENTER. Anyways, our hardware is identical in every way, except for our CPU and RAM. He has an AMD A6-5600K (3.8GHz Quad Core), and I have an AMD Phenom II 810 (3.2GHz Quad Core). Also, I have 24GB of RAM, he only has 8GB. What I do not entirely understand is why he managed to gain such a performance boost, but I barely changed (I was still at the same FPS range). I feel like my CPU is limiting me, even though it is only three years old. For sure, I know it isn't my graphics card. Is it time for me to upgrade my CPU? Is that what's lagging my computer with Minecraft, and the reason why I can't get above 100 FPS? Is there something else that I need to do?

posted a message on Textures not loading after AMD Mantle
Hey MetalWolv, welcome to the forums!

I was having a similar problem too, but I did find a solution. By copying the following files to the C:\Windows\System32\ directory (and the C:\Windows\SysWOW64\ if you run a 64-bit version of Windows 7/8), the game will work fine. By doing this, you are simply using the renderer from the 13.12 edition of the drivers, and IT DOES NOT DISABLE MANTLE! Also, you need to be running a version of Windows 7 or Windows 8. But please do not do this if you don't feel comfortable doing so, and don't forget to back up the previous files in those directories!

Also, I would suggest everybody to submit the original issue here. This is the official AMD issue submitting forum, and the more people that do it, the faster it will get fixed.

For those wondering, I got the information from here. (It's another forum, but I'm not here to advertise. It's just where I learned about this fix)

posted a message on [1.6.4][Forge] Novamenu - Clean and modern GUI overhaul! [1.1.4]
Hey voidzm, are you planning on adding any support for using this mod with FriendsOverlay? I haven't gotten a chance to test this mod out yet, but I'm not sure if it is compatible as FriendsOverlay adds buttons and I don't want stuff to go corrupt. I know FancyGUI has this option, but it isn't out for 1.6.2 that I know of, and this looks much cooler. There isn't a rush, and it's okay if it will never work, but I thought I would just ask nicely. Thanks for the cool mod though!

Is there any way to add types of wood that aren't usable with Timber! by default (not types of axes, the actual wood itself)? I installed Biomes 'O Plenty and some types of wood from that mod don't utilize Timber!

posted a message on TooManyItems, the inventory editor and more (1.8 Forge is here!)
The creative fix was for 1.3.1, and I'm running 1.3.2. Also, the creative fix for CI updated the aqg.class file in 1.3.1, which is what TMI uses in 1.3.1 (TMI & Convenient Inventory use aqh.class in 1.3.2). I'm guessing the problem is with TMI because the equivalent Convenient Inventory aqg/aqh class was updated to fix the bug. I found this on the Convenient Inventory forum on why creative is broken:

    Quote from MWisBest

I checked your code, and the only reason the creative inventory slots are broken is because you are checking if the slot is less than 2 instead of the mouse button in that if statement to check if it is the creative inventory. Fix it up when you can please. :)

This is probably what's wrong with the aqg.class (1.3.1) / aqh.class (1.3.2) in TMI as well. I'm guessing the problem is within those classes, considering Convenient Inventory updated them.

Don't know if this was one of the weird issues in creative mode, but TooManyItems and ConvenientInventory are no longer compatible... If you just copy the ConvenientInventory.class file, creative mode crashes when selecting items from the creative menu (Not from TooManyItems). If you also copy the other class file from Convenient Inventory, TMI doesn't work anymore, but creative mode does.

posted a message on What is this internal server error crap? 1.3.1
I've been playing Minecraft 1.3.1 with TooManyItems and I haven't gotten any internal server error messages... The only difference is that I installed TooManyItems with Magic Launcher and not by putting the class files with the .jar. Try installing with that and see if it makes a difference.
