A new boss would be cool, but this means modmakers will be able to piggyback on this mob for new flying monster AI -

"Minecraft works cross-platform between Switch, Xbox, and PC."
Either the speaker is referring to MC:Win10E or he/she has literally no idea what he's/she's talking about.
He is refering to the MC:W10E as it is planned to have cross platform play -

That will be nice as long as they don't change commands too much. My world might explode if they do. lol
I think it means "bunch of new content" -

I do not know if any update will bring me back for good. I keep checking weekly but nothing that keeps me in for more than a few hours. I guess I am burned out seeing I started on beta 1.8 a few years back. My entire world is command block based. Even in creative mode I am lazy and want to push a button to give me god power. lol I am just a little bummed out that they changed the command code, if it is still a thing, for mob drop dungeon chest items and I can not figure it out. used to be /summon Zombie ~ ~ ~ {DeathLootTable:chests/simple_dungeon}
They said 1.14 will be another big update. -

Now we just have to wait for the electric guitar noteblock sound for iro blocks and we'll be able to play a whole band.
On a serious note *rimshot* what sounds do you think they should add to the noteblock portfolio and what block do you think would make sense to produce it?

You know that the crappy system isn't for the PC/Java version, right? and - some modders gain money using link shorteners and Curse rewards.
But windows 10 probably will have mods the same as the PC one, I was just using TC as an example.
Good point about the link shorteners though. -

As long as this is safe and doesn't affect gameplay (such as selling items and resources in the past), I don't see a problem with this.
The only think I'm worried about is major mods like Thaumcraft being locked behind a paywall, I mean you can already donate to them using services like parteon, but I'm worried if they will continue being so popular if their creators decide to monetise them (even though I would understand, they give up a lot of their spare time to maintain these mods and get nothing in return besides love of the fans and everyone has to pay the bills). The problem would be because you cannot play on a server if you don't have the mod installed, so people might feel offended by having to pay to play on a server they like because it uses a mod, even worse would be modpacks, since people would have to pay for all the mods, but on the other hand it would make sense since it would be impossible to run a server if everyone used diferent pay-to-play mods.
Could they monetise "early access" to the mod when it's released? I'd be okay with waiting a moth or so for the newest version if it would mean the creators being able to make some money off of it.
For skins and resource pack, I'm all for though, it's art so people paying for it is normal, if you don't wanna there will always be some free ones.
TL;DR: They should monatise resource packs and skins, but mods probably aren't a good idea.

They did say it might be a case of unlocking a recepy afer you craft it once, so it'll probably an option.

Hey Azanor, I really enjoyed your mod all the way from TC 3 to this beta, I'm glad you managed to keep it up so far and I'm glad you officially quit instead of just keeping it in limbo like most of the modmakers.
I hope you find someone worthy of continuing this mod in your stead, so people don't have to come up with knockoffs to keep enjoying your epic story (looking at you Emoniph).
Whatever you decide to pursue in life, whether it will be a new mod or something completely different, I wish you fortune in your endeavors.
PS: Now that you are done with the mod, any chance you could tell us some secret lore you kept us in the dark about till now?

Or toggleable, maybe 3x3, 9x9, 15x15?

Ok I gotta say, I love the new research system a lot, it's just so fun to write theories, but I have some complaints:
1. You need glowstone to progress to anything (as you need it to unlock basic alchemy) but the rest seems like going to the nether isn't supposed to be required to start the mod
2. Rabbit leather for gloves, I literally spend 5 minutes chasing rabbits around the desert to find enough leather for 1 glove, oof. Not really a problem but oooof.
3. I'd move the list of inspirations, researches, theories and such listed on a tab next to the essentia list, because I feel like some people will never think to check a branch of the first research tree.
4. Have portable hole focus not fizzle if it hits tall grass, just a personal annoyance
5. A button to reset research if you've hit a dead end, instead of having to break the table
Besides that I wanna say I love the new alchemy mechanics with quartz sliver essentia sponging, it's so intuitive.

Thaumcraft 6 beta just came out for 1.10, comming to 1.12 soon

Atually due to them often clipping trough walls, they later changed it to invisible boxes with a red eye that can be seen trough walls that always looks at the nearest player. That was so creepy.

Maybe the endermen attack you if you look at them because they have PTSD from the monoliths constantly watching them?

I'd say openblocks is than that kid that brought to school some crazy contraptions he built in his basement, used it to pull some epic pranks and got suspended for it, but everyone thought it was cool and is waiting for him to come back with more stuff.

People are on vacations, so it's going a bit slow.

There is an alpha, but the modmakers were busy this week so not much was done, will keep you guys updated.

Hey look, it's a foolish samurai warrior

I've asked the people on IRC where he used to hang out and everyone said noone has heard from him in over a year now, I also checked on steam and it says he was last logged in...
Wait it says now that he was last logged in 36 days ago?!
That means he's still alive!
He was offline for over a year before, I wonder what happened to him?

MAybe you could keep the rights to the mod and resources you created, but allow others to access the code and work on it (i mean they can't get money from it anyway), while also giving them some notes on the what you were planning on doing, so they know what it was supposed to be?
Or maybe you could find a group of modders (maybe you know some people?) who would work on it and give them access to the code exclusevly (though if they give up, you'll need to find a new group, so idk).

With Emoniph (Witchery dev) dissapearing last year, I was excited to see Thaumcraft updating, so it's dissapinting to see it put on hold.
Fortunately I am super patient and will wait to play Thaumcraft 6, no matter what version it will come out for, just don't forget about us - your fans, OK?

Research: That sounds about the same as what i'd imagined, though you'd probably scan the flower or water with the thaumonomicon.
Structures: It was a while ago but Az said he's planning on making nodes rare as the aura will slowly regenerate on it's own, so I imagine they will spawn in some ancient structures or something.
Npcs: I'd love to see some rival thaumaturges, but I'd be ok with even just peches

well they did say that the 1.14 update will be a big one, so we'll have some time after 1.13
