    Also... It feels like it's having a really hard determining either where light source is or what is in the way. The entire experience is plagued by occurrences with glitching shadows like this:



    I've also noticed that after a certain distance from the player blocks that should obstruct light do not. For example, if you go into a tall enough building no shadows are cast by the blocks above a certain level. Is there a setting for this to define how far away surfaces should obstruct light? It feels like it's about 30 or so right now.


    In addition, glass inside the walls or ceiling causes additional freak-out behavior. I'm not sure if Karyonix is using vanilla Minecraft methods to detect the light levels/shadows but it might be time to change the detection method either way. It's not working well. Shadows are constantly jumping around or disappearing altogether. It's okay if you are taking screenshots because you can mess around with position and angle until you find a spot where shadows look like they're correct but trying to pull video isn't worth it yet.

    No difference. Tested on latest Java with 14.12 and still causing a black screen when mousing over some entities. Other entities (like bats) I believe the opposite is happening and it's as if there was infinite light (no shadows, darkness, etc) even in caves without light sources as all darkness seems to disappear.


    Turning off Fast Render isn't feeling like a viable fix for people running my combination of software/hardware.

    I think this is a problem with AMD Driver version 14.12 OMEGA. This was reported in the SEUS thread a couple of times, as well as here.

    The latest beta coming out is reported to fix the issue, but, you may have to roll back to 14.9.

    posted a message on OptiFine HD (FPS Boost, Dynamic Lights, Shaders and much more)
    Found a bug... I'm not sure what business Optifine has with the Jukebox but it breaks any forge mod with custom records. If the record's ogg isn't stored in mojang's primary domain of "minecraft" then a method call to getRecordResource needs to return the real resource location of the ogg file. Optifine prevents that call. Can this be fixed?

    Would you mind making a tutorial about how to make a custom block that can be set in any orientation. You have a sided block tutorial but of course that block can only be set bottom down. What about a custom block like a log or haystack that can take any orientation?

    I was wondering if the code currently respects the settings in the MoCreatures.cfg file. I turned canspawn to false for werewolves but they still seem to be spawning after a server restart.

    Is this a known bug?
