it looks like mediafire is going to be giving me some trouble. (My connection isn't that good)Found the problem,
I'll have it up within the next 15 minutes. In the mean time I'll upload some photos as well.
-Cleared some lava out of the mine.
-Started on the second group of stone houses. (Began mining the cavern)
-Started the city vault using excess obsidian from mining.
-Added storage chest by nether portal.
-Other miscellaneous things.

Dec 4, 2011I don't have time to do anything with the save myself, but after looking at it briefly I've come up with what I believe should be top priority or at lest reasonably important.Posted in: Maps
-Expand housing, What we have now will work fine but if more people start to play the save housing will quickly become a rarity, if not to build houses some one should at least expand the housing hallways.
-Large Scale strip-mine, while a cobblestone generator is a fast way to get cobble, eventually, a large mined out space will have more practical use then several double chests full of cobble.
-Large Scale Branch-mine, while caving is a nice way to extract materials from the ground, the only way to truly be sure that you've gotten every last available ore is a strip mine. Also, this provides an opportunity for finding more caves then by strip-mining.
-Better Hub, While I can certainly tell where the hub of the city is supposed to be, it might not be so clear to others if the save were to expand to a certain point. I suggest we try to make the hub look more like hub.
-Nether Content, While some people may feel content living unerground, others may feel that it is necessary to go to the nether for one reason or another, there needs to be an easily identifiable building that both provides safety and comfort to those traveling ino the nether and back into the normal world.
-Larger areas in general, Like before the space of each of the areas fits well with the current population of the map, specifically, I find the farms and the storage room too small.
-Some form of sign-in room, With the addition of a sign-in room we would be able to see all the people who have worked on the map and be able to better recognize their contributions with a simple sign-in system. (For example: Name, Date, Work done)
-Transportation system, while the city is small enough now, we will eventually need some form of transportation besides walking if we want the city to be truly successful.
-City to Cave transitions, In some places of the map I noticed that at one point you are standing in any other room and the next you are presented with a seemingly endless cave that could be accessed quite simply from the heart of the city. I feel that for aesthetic purposes we try to avoid having these direct transitions without some form of doorway or airlock.
In conclusion most of my ideas boil down to one thing, we need the city to be bigger. While I understand that the map is relatively new, we need to make expanding the city a top priority for the reasons listed above. Completely unrelated to the idea of making the city bigger is that of aesthetics, which we should have at least a decent standard of. What is acceptable and what is not acceptable aesthetic-wise should be left up to the community.
Thank you for reading my suggestions, feel free to respond to this post with your own ideas or any criticism. If anything doesn't make sense it is most likely due to me being tired so, sorry in advance. Also, don't feel that this is what must ultimately happen, as there are plenty of other things to do that I have not mentioned in this post.
Nov 30, 2011I'm not trying to sound arrogant but I feel aside from the adventure updates, not that much was accomplished in beta; whereas, in indev/infdev there were more constant updates. I guess you could partially attriibute this to Notch responding to a growing fanbase. Also, back then the game was more glitchy and bugged. After infdev, came alpha (I bought during this time period) and by the time of the halloween release I feel like the idea of Minecraft was established and this idea of Minecraft would not be altered significantly until Beta 1.8/ Full release 1.0.0.Posted in: Suggestions
If only a small group gets capes I feel it should be classic-infdev players. However, I do support the idea of alpha nad beta players getting capes.

The timer on the homepage is based off your cpu's clock, set your date to something extreme like 2005 and visit the homepage. You'll see what I mean.This i the one on the forums though.

Don't pretend like you know how to use McEdit if you don't. It would be extremely easy to leave those trees alone while using McEdit.

What You Get For Purchasing
When you purchase Minecraft you do so as is, be it in the early stages of development or already fully released. Subsequent updates are only an added bonus and not a guarantee, as icing on a cake. Purchases during the development of the game are discounted and include the full game upon release.
As we at Mojang strive towards releasing updates for our projects we cannot guarantee that any project will ever be completed and/or provided support for. There's always the risk of a project being discontinued at any time.

Finally, someone with sense who recognizes the fact that in the end the typo will mean absolutely nothing overall to the lawsuit.

I mean, if the fools can't even spell "Minecraft" properly, that means one of two things:
1. They can't afford to proofread their documents
2. They don't know their facts.
Either way, they're most likely just being stupid. If this was true, all Android apps that have some sort of user authentication (Facebook, Twitter, eBay, etc etc) would violate this patent. Considering how widespread authentication systems are on Android devices, this patent was probably filed by some jerk who wants to get money out of everyone. Anyone got any info on how recent the patent is?
A link another user posted puts the filing date in Feb. 2001 and the issuing date in Feb. 2005

Have many governments and companies (i.e. Google, Microsoft, Apple, etc.) not been doing this for the past 3-4 decades?
Unless there is a substantial claim that Uniloc figured they'd omit from the lawsuit itself I don't see how this claim could go anywhere.
