I have a question. You put a link for the server that can be managed by me, will it change anything? I'll still have just as much hardware power as the server that I wouldn't be controlling right? I ran a CS 1.6 server a long long time ago and had access to the FTP so that I could install WC3FT and all the other mods without having to talk to anyone. Later I ran another server through a different company and had to use support tickets to change anything and everything, and it was a major pain in my ass; I shall never do that again.
Minecraft requires a lot more personal work than a CS 1.6 server did. A mod can break on a daily basis, you can write your own plugins, etc so I want to make sure I'll be able to do all of that without having to wait several hours for my ticket to be read (only to possibly be misunderstood and have to be replied to several more hours later). I've heard and read good stuff, though.
Also, I'm considering the 30 slot server (with a limit of 20-25 players just to be on the safe side, as well as to keep the community small and provide an incentive for donating). Can yalls bandwidth keep up with 20~ people logging in and out throughout the day? I've noticed that RAM isn't always the problem. People logging in and the server uploading the map to each person logging in can be a much bigger problem. How good will that be? No point in a hardcore server if the upload speed sucks.

Hey Cbresee, how's the server going? I had kinda given up on Minecraft for a little while. Too many updates / game-breaking things. But I'll probably be back soon. Bukkit is starting to pick up finally. Anything new? I've tried the site a few times and it's been down.
Btw, I stopped my subscription because I went broke. I should be re-subscribing soon if everything is going ok with the server.
Which reminds me, I posted the other day on the forums and tried to login to the server right after but it wasn't working. I think it was on Notch's end though. I see that the server and site are down right now, so I'll check back in a few hours. I miss everyone :smile.gif:
Most people put a separator of some form between to links that look like they're together. Sorry. And I read the version history but like I said in my post, I wasn't sure if you had forgotten to add it or not, as I never saw a second link to it.

It appears the Patches folder is missing from the download... I've read through the entire OP and through all the replies and haven't seen anyone say the patch files were not found. And I didn't see a link to the patch files. Were they forgotten in this update? Sorry if I missed something, but after reading it 3 times I figured I'd ask
Sorry if this has already been addressed, I just didn't feel like going through all the posts. I think this latest version broke the /spawn command. It doesn't spawn anything when I use it. It worked before this new update.

I'm having an issue. I haven't updated to the latest one yet, I downloaded this yesterday before the update. I installed it and was using it fine, but noticed a little bit of internet lag, not graphics lag. Didn't think anything of it at first because it's minecraft, and lag happens. But I checked my ping for CSS (another game, irrelevant), and it was between 600-1000 constantly. Usually it is around 25-40 max. After thinking it was my internet, I went through all my normal means of internet fixing. I reset everything in my house, restarted my computer, etc, but no fix. I uninstalled this minimap and it worked. Waited an hour or so without lag, re-installed it thinking it might've just been a coincidence, and the lag immediately came back.
So a few things.
1. Has anyone else had this problem?
2. Does the new update fix this problem? (I'll test this one myself soon, but wanted to post asking anyways for people that read this later)
3. It didn't stop my lag when I closed minecraft or restored the backup. I had to completely close minecraft, restore the backup, AND reset my internet before my internet went back to normal.
4. This is the biggest question of all... why would it cause so much lag? This makes me think it's uploading something, because nothing else would affect my internet. What would it be uploading, why, and how can I make it not?

EDIT: Nope, this update causes the same problem. Causes my internet to lag horribly. Soon as I removed it and reset, it went back to normal. So this program has to be uploading something... that or there's a leak in it or something
Definitely one of the best servers there is, especially considering how new it is. It's minecraft the way it should be played; the only rules being no hacking / no duping.

We still need a few more donators, so come check it out.
TIP: Soon as you get on, run from spawn, collect the stuff you need, and build. There are thief / bandit factions that will take your stuff, so be smart about it. It's a very fun game when you're constantly worrying about others :biggrin.gif: Adds intensity to the game.
