    Thanks for the offer! I've figured out that the problem was with a single entry in the json where I was trying to replace an existing sound (the sound it makes when a player dies) with another sound. I'm inclined to just forget about replacing sounds right now lmao, since the majority of what I wanted to do was adding new sounds, and that's now working.


    Sort of annoying, though.

    I've also been having huge problems with this. My sounds.json file is in the correct place, and the command blocks are saying that they played the sound, but I just can't hear it. I've tested the file itself and it works fine. I'm just completely at a loss. I've also gone and looked at other people's maps that include custom sounds, and copied what they did exactly. The custom sounds in those maps work no problem, so it's not like I have sounds off.


    I'm totally at my wits end ;A;

    None of the examples I saw had the extension, but I tried your suggestion and it didn't make any difference :(

    I'm working on a vanilla adventure map. I would like to both add some sounds to the game so that they will be played by command blocks using the /playsound command, and some sounds that will be triggered by events in the game, such as the death of a player.


    I've been working on the resourcepack for this, and have created the sounds.json file for it according to tutorials I have found. So far as I can tell, I've done everything right, and when I trigger the first command block I created, it claims to have worked, but I don't actually hear the sound. I've tried monkeying with the volume and location settings, and have also confirmed that the sound file itself works, but I'm stuck.

    The House on Haunted Hill is a modded single-player puzzle map inspired by the two horror movies of the same name! Mods are included largely for atmosphere and ensuring an immersive experience.


    You have been invited by a millionaire to spend the night at his mountain cabin, which is rumoured to be haunted. If you make it through the night, you will win $10,000.


    House on Haunted Hill is estimated to take between 1-2 hours to complete and is designed for a single-player experience. I hope you enjoy it.

    I'm having a hard time accessing the bat computer. I've placed a bat chair and was wearing a bat suit because I thought it might be like the Stark Workbench. Is there anything else I am supposed to do?

    Sorry, I guess my question got passed over -_- Does anyone know how to stem the flood of murderous criminals throughout my world? Am I missing something really obvious?

    Is there any way to limit the spawning of criminals? I find that they're taking over every village in huge hoards and slaughtering all the villagers. When I spawned into a brand new world, they swarmed me instantly and murdered me about three times before I was able to get into creative mode.


    I've looked at the configs and don't see how to reduce or stop the spawning. They seem to spawn in any light level and anywhere in the world. It's just a bit...overwhelming.

    I think you're right that forge is somehow not installing any of my mods - or at least, hardly any! I went into the world and a lot of the items were gone. Others appeared to still be there (like some opal cobblestone) but when I clicked on it it vanished.


    I appreciate you taking the time to look at this, if you're willing. I fired up the forge jar again on the server to see the log and this is what it did: (I had to break it into three pastes because it's so long)

    I've set up a port forward LAN server with forge this morning and I want to import an existing world onto the server and continue working on it with my friends. Everything appeared to be working, however when I put my saved game in, it doesn't seem to be loading some of the mods correctly. Geostrata is definitely one of the mods that isn't loading properly, so I'm hoping you can help me, since the problem doesn't appear to be related to it being a 'client only' mod!

    I'm using forge version 1291 and have loaded all the same mod jars into the server mod folder as was in client side, as well as the configs. The version of geostrata I'm using is V6a.

    posted a message on GrowthCraft - [JUL-15-2014] Proper 1.7.10 release

    I've been playing just fine in my own modded sandbox and today I was monkeying around with the mods. I got things stable again, but now when I click on any of the growthcraft barrels and such to look at the liquid inside, it crashes.

    I'm terrified there's some kind of corruption in the files and I have to start over.
