thank you. the nether is so broken and terrible that I couldn't figure out how to make the portal make a new location, mined almost
    40 obsidian for nothing!

maybe if there was a way to navigate the nether it wouldn't suck.

absolutely not. the range they used to have was pathetic and impractical and it really es me off to see people who don't know how to play the game attempting to get them nerfed, if you know how to play the game, have armor and don't do anything stupid then they will only do about 1 or 1/2 a heart of damage

play on easy if you don't know how to play but don't ruin it for everyone else.

posted a message on mojang is being silly because they haven't learned anything from optifine
if somebody (who isn't 10) can tell me why mojang CAN'T make the game faster, and why they CAN'T add optifine to the vanilla code then I will hear your opinion

but things like "get a better computer" are redundant statements and very ignorant, it's kinda like saying, if you have cancer, go to the doctor, some people can't afford to treat cancer so they look into other methods, you think I would just keep this fossil if I could easily afford another computer? I feel rude bashing someone with such low intelligence (ironically)

    Quote from Auric245524

They already tried talking with the developers of optifine. They had the chance to get their mod put into vanilla but nope, optifine declined. I thinking 1.6 might be the "preformance update". Give mojang some time to work on it it and hopefully we'll all not have any reason to use optifine at all. (I feel optifine declineded because they'd stop getting donations. so, imo, it seems they'd rather be greedy then help minecraft. I hope mojang make optifine a useless mod soon by greatly imporving preformance.)

    now that's a valid post
I think that is definitely a bad mark on the board of optifine
but the point does remain, they aren't being payed to make the game faster, mojang has a net profit from minecraft, they can pay anybody they want to to come in and fix up the game and make it extremely optimized but for whatever reason they do not, maybe because they also want to make profit.
also I have hoped for better performance from the source code since beta 1.8 but it's only gotten worse so I don't exactly see that in the future, but who knows maybe dinnerbone has a trick or two up his sleeve

posted a message on mojang is being silly because they haven't learned anything from optifine
In the 1.5 snapshots, I got 8 fps, 14 if I was lucky
with the 1.5.1 update, I got 15 fps and it would go up and down between that
so basically I had a whole bunch of things tried thanks to the help of a smart friend
    nothing worked.
I tried updating lwjgl, I tried updating java, nvidia drivers, virus scanning, magic launcher, turning all the settings to tiny, fast graphics and still I got the same 15 fps, TURNING IT TO TINY DIDN'T GET ANY MORE FPS

finally I just installed optifine, I never tried it before because I tried in 1.4 and 1.2.7 and it never helped much

but now I get 28 fps on normal, it goes down to 15 occasionally but not to the point where it's noticeable

and on tiny render distance I get 42 fps and this below is a decent example of the FPS I get
and I can even see the stars, that was the only reason I didn't like tiny render distance and optifine even fixes that, it has so much optimization it is really crazy, it's funny how mojang gets payed to sit around and make the game worse in terms of fps while people like the developer of optifine combat it, and do this donation based and for the community and its three times better than the actual game performance unmodded

what I don't understand is why mojang doesn't simply take advice from the developer/s of optifine or even just flat out ask to copy and paste it

    look at this garbage
    this is unmodified minecraft client

so the difference is 10-20 fps with optifine going from unplayable, to remarkably fast (considering this is on normal and I get 28 on normal now)
how has mojang learned nothing from the community? I know they see this kind of stuff because of pistons and hoppers and a few other things. how do they produce such poor things even though they have the source code?
I respect the new members of mojang like dinnerbone for adding alot of nice things which vechz mostly suggested(and they've really stepped up their game from minecraft beta when it took them 3 weeks to add squid) but I gotta say it really doesn't make sense how modders working on donation make the game better than the makers who are on paychecks
this is kinda just complaining but I feel like I make good points, mojang needs to get together and have a talk with the makers of optifine because it's really kinda ridiculous how a mod which you install actually improves the original interpretation of the game if you think about it.

it may sound ignorant but I think it would be the smartest thing for mojang to just add optifine to the game, if it can improve my fossil of a computers fps on minecraft then I'm sure it could do no harm to other computers.

posted a message on $5 dollar commission for anyone who can improve my minecraft performance with advice
    Quote from ManlikeKami

Brand new computers will run games a lot faster than they will when they're two or three years old. Have you gone inside your tower and cleared it of all the dust and other things that like to clog up in there?
Other than that, the only thing I can suggest is buying a new card (old hardware will slow down over time), and clearing out your system for junk files which I recommend CCleaner.

thanks for the input, I have several cans of air and dust my computer out every few weeks, how ofen would you suggest?

also in a funny retrospect to what I just said, optifine has helped tremendously once I installed it
I get 28-15 fps on normal render distance and connected textures
and the fog looks so much better! you can see the sky even on tiny and that is the only issue I had with running on tiny, and for some reason with optifine installed I get 42 fps on tiny and still get to see the sky.
it didn't seem to help at all in 1.4.7 oddly and that's why I said to not reccomend lol

I know mr sectional moderator isn't going to like this but.. mojang are idiots for not learning anything from optifine, they should seriously just ask to copy and paste it into the game. but no they can't dish out 15 fps for it's users

    thank you ;3

umm I may have updated this nvidia driver, this user directed me to a page that looked very similar to this and it didn't help much but I'll try it.

also you didn't take any note on how the old version of minecraft alpha plays poorly still just like how 1.5 does

READ THE WHOLE THING BEFORE POSTING don't just say "get optifine" or "get a better computer" I'm working on getting a better computer but for now you will just make yourself sound like an idiot.

or you could just give advice which would help and I would appreciate it alot~ also +1 to any relevant posts.

but if someone is really willing to message me or skype me and help and actually get my performance above 15 fps then I will give a $5 dollar commission if needed

and no, optifine doesn't do anything for me either, or atleast it hasn't in the past, I'll try it soon.

must get minecraft running faster first though
    and here's system info
    Model: SR5113wm
    Processor: AMD Athlon™ 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 3600+
    RAM: 1918 MB
    System type: 32-bit operating system
I put ddr2-800 gaming ram from adata.

I also want to note that I downgraded to minecraft alpha and I still get 15 fps, I know for a fact I used to get 30+ fps in alpha so my grapics drivers aren't the problem I think

basically, I had minecraft running at a constant 20-30 fps in 1.4.7
then I moved out of home, I turned off my computer and boxed it up
and when I turned my computer back on when it was setup, I didn't have internet, and I got 9 fps, completely unplayable
I really don't understand how it happened but before that I had a big underwater series of homes and the game even ran fine then

after a while the FPS did even out a little and it became playable again
but then in the series of snapshots it became very unplayable 5 fps

another thing which surprised me was the fact that even on tiny render distance and all the graphics turned down, I still get the exact same fps where I used to get normal fps for my comptuer's standard and somehow turning the computer off, effed everything up?

I had a very nice member help me greatly
we tried installing magic launcher, it helps a little more stability, I tried updating nvidia drivers, I tried updating LWJGL, tried scanning for viruses and nothing really worked, updating to 1.5.1 did give me 15-20 fps though so it's just playable

but then, what happened next really surprised me urging me to write this post
I downgraded to minecraft infdev and then minecraft alpha with "MVC"
I thought I would get 60 fps on far render distance since I get 15 fps on normal render distance in 1.5
but no, I got 15 fps on far and turning it to TINY didn't give me even a slight improvement

so basically, no matter what version, what setting, I get 15 fps
in 2010 when I played alpha, I had 512 mb of ram, I could play the game with 20-30 fps on tiny
then I upgraded to 2 gigs of adata ram and my performance soared I got 30 or so fps constantly on normal render distance which was in minecraft beta all through up until the later 1.2x updates it got worse and better with every update but still playable

I just don't understand how suddenly I just get terrible fps for no apparent reason, I have hardly noticed any performance issues with my computer otherwise except youtube lagging but I know that's because youtube is constantly making itself worse

I did notice that instead of changing the version it just changed the .jar file, and the 1.5 .minecraft folder is still present, could it be something within the .minecraft folder that is imparing my performance? note I did update lwjgl

if someone can help me get my fps back to 20-30 constant then I will send you 5 dollars via paypal
