Meeeeee too! If you're exploring and you come across a village, you only have until night to secure everyone. Not sure it can be done in survival mode. Do these groups spawn only at night? Only if night and the chunk is active? Is the spawn trigger the village itself, or is it the villagers? If it is the villages, will removing the village-ness by breaking the wooden doors prevent them spawning? I read the wiki page, but the info is incomplete, probably because this is not the final state.

I am trying build my own cave from scratch. I am not sure about the mechanics for growing stalactites. I know the pointed dripstone has to be placed on a dripstone block. In the "Pointed dripstone" page of the wiki. it says "If a stalactite is hanging from a dripstone block with a water source above, the stalactite..." The question is - what is the requirement for the water source? Can it be flowing water, or does the block above the growth medium dripstone block have to be a water source block? or can it be under a pond? how far "above" can the water be? The wiki seems a bit lacking in this detail. Any insight would be appreciated. Cheers!

Whoa! Never heard of anything that would do that. In your shoes, I might just dig in a different place/direction.

That's really clever, Zombie Killer. I'm going to try it.

One of the great things about Minecraft is that it can appeal to any age group. I am almost 70, and my eyes aren't as sharp as they used to be. I even bought a high-end gaming laptop, hoping that the best available graphics (Nvidia RTX 2080) would make it easier for me to see. Turns out that dim is still dim in RTX - the problem is my eyes. So I still have to edit the options.txt file to keep it bright. Please don't force me into creative because you want to keep the game pure by disallowing brightness in Survival. I love to build stuff, but I like the challenge of having to find the resources (and I even play in hard mode!) You can still have dim, but I need bright, or I can't play in any mode. There is no "One True Way."
Cheers!

1.15 took a lot longer than originally projected, and from what i could see in the big "reveal" in September, the changes will be in the Nether, but there will be new biomes, new mobs, new mechanics in the Nether. Looked pretty big to me. But hey... My crystal ball has been cracked for years.

Thanks, I have about come to the same conclusion. I can eventually get what I want from this build, but they do NOT work like they are supposed to. Thanks again for the quick response.

My villager breeder works like a charm. Salient points: The two breeder villagerss are unemployed, They have 4 beds and no workstations. They are about 65 blocks from any employed villagers. I had to feed them about six stacks of carrots to get them started, and when they run down, I hurl more carrots at them (at least 6 stacks but they can take more, I think). I only ever give them one kind of food (always carrots). My 2 breeders are in a single block space, and I have noticed that only one of the villagers ever picks up the carrots. I don't have any trouble with them.
I used a design that I got from ImpulseSV, but without the big carrot farm part. I feed them myself. The babies fall into a water stream that runs to a holding area, and from there, I pick them up with a minecart and scoot them into where I want them in the trading hall. I have not had to pick up and re-place the beds, so that bug seems to have been fixed.

Yeah but.... Isn't the workstation supposed to be locked to that villager once you have traded?
I have a villager trading hall in which all villagers that I want to keep are in niches and have been traded with (some extensively). I am trying to get a sweeping edge enchanted book, from a librarian that has not been traded with.
It happens often that when I pick up his lectern to re-place it and get a new trade, he turns into a Farmer. There are no unclaimed composters within a very large radius (indeed, there are none that I know of). How can he become a farmer with no composter?
If I leave the lectern in front of him, he eventually turns back into a librarian, but it's a pain.
I do not know why this happens! . Is it a known bug? I tried to search the bug tracker, but it's tricky. I may not be building a query that will find what I want.

Howdy! It's great to get VoxelMap back in 1.15.1. Thanks. But I have a question - why do most of my land biomes show gray, as if they were all the Mountain biome? The beaches do show up, and the trees, but the ground is all gray. Am I not doing some configuration correctly?
Cheers and thanks,

That's a good one!

After punching a bunch of trees, I just dig into the side of a hill for my first night, blocking myself in. First task then is to craft a furnace, char some logs so you can make torches, I use the time to mine for coal and iron (and cobble, of course). Oh, kill a critter or 2 before you shut yourself in, 'cuz you will get hungry!

They are mostly fixing bugs now in the snapshots, which might mean a pre-release is coming soon.

I think the mending works when the tool is used for its designed task. so for every fish you can catch with it, it will get a bit stronger until it reaches full health. I absolutely hate it when something disappears from my inventory. Usually it's me hitting the "drop" key. Mending on a pickaxe is pure gold - as long as you can mine a bit of redstone, lapis or coal with it, you can use it forever!

2 issues - 1) I cannot edit a name tag (using anvil, plenty of XP, tried Survival and Creative) and 2) I have an Expert Farmer who is not working the crops, compost bins are near every plot pf plowed dirt. Has anyone else seen these, or is there some wildly different mechanic that just came out? If these are known issues, I can be very patient. Thanks.

Frankly, I did not even notice the new textures. If I can tell what it is, that's good enough for me. And I will be going back to BDCraft when they have their pack updated for 1.14. I do kind of like the polished andesite, though.
