posted a message on Still in my early stage

After punching a bunch of trees, I just dig into the side of a hill for my first night, blocking myself in. First task then is to craft a furnace, char some logs so you can make torches, I use the time to mine for coal and iron (and cobble, of course). Oh, kill a critter or 2 before you shut yourself in, 'cuz you will get hungry!

They are mostly fixing bugs now in the snapshots, which might mean a pre-release is coming soon.

posted a message on Two simple questions

I think the mending works when the tool is used for its designed task. so for every fish you can catch with it, it will get a bit stronger until it reaches full health. I absolutely hate it when something disappears from my inventory. Usually it's me hitting the "drop" key. Mending on a pickaxe is pure gold - as long as you can mine a bit of redstone, lapis or coal with it, you can use it forever!

posted a message on Having issues with 19w14b and can't get to bug tracker!

2 issues - 1) I cannot edit a name tag (using anvil, plenty of XP, tried Survival and Creative) and 2) I have an Expert Farmer who is not working the crops, compost bins are near every plot pf plowed dirt. Has anyone else seen these, or is there some wildly different mechanic that just came out? If these are known issues, I can be very patient. Thanks.

posted a message on So what do you guys think about the new 1.14 textures?

Frankly, I did not even notice the new textures. If I can tell what it is, that's good enough for me. And I will be going back to BDCraft when they have their pack updated for 1.14. I do kind of like the polished andesite, though.

posted a message on Mob drops in Java Realms 'Easy' world

I think I just answered my own question. I edited the world configuration to make it normal difficulty, and the armor and enchanted bows appeared. Why is this not discussed in the wiki (at least, I could not find it)?

posted a message on Mob drops in Java Realms 'Easy' world

Hi - sorry if this has been asked before - a link to previous threads would be much appreciated. I have a dismal luck with the search tool here.

I have an "easy" Survival Realms (1.13.2 of course) world in which I have found a Skele spawner that I have turned into an XP farm. It is of the dark chamber-water elevator-23 block drop variety. I get lots of bows, arrows and bones, BUT... None of the bows is enchanted and there are no armor drops. Adding Looting III to my sword made no difference. Is this because of the Easy mode, or because it is Realms, or because of something else? I can live w/o armor or weapons, but I was counting on some enchanted bows.

    Thanks.

    Quote from BusheeBrowยป

I have a son and a daughter that are older than 42. I am 67

My kids are early 40's, too. Didja ever notice that today's grocery store "muzak" is comprised of 60s golden oldies? When I was a kid, grocery store muzak was 30s and 40s music toned down into 4/4-time string orchestra renditions, utterly bland and denatured. I wondered then if Stones songs would be butchered similarly when I got old.

Do you play in a realm? I'm still looking for a peaceful place. Romanq's advice was good, but I don't have any RLP* friends who play MC.

    Cheers

What to these tags mean - found on Servers list.

    PvE
    Economy
    Skyblock
    FTB
    Pixelmon
    PrisonCTF
    KitPvP
    McMMO
    Spleef
    RPG
    Roleplay (not same as RPG?)

I thought I understood Survival and Creative, but some are tagged with both. Not mutually exclusive?

I was in your shoes for many years, so I sympathize fully. If I could find a realm or SMP server that was designed for retirees, I'd be happy. The problem is finding one. I'd even pay the Realm fees to join. But I'm not keen enough to take on administrative duties, so I'm probably SOL. I'm not seeing a lot of Forum activity from seniors, but maybe I'm not looking in the right place.

My ideal would be a modded survival world that allowed only one cheat: Switching in and out of spectator mode to fly about safely. Not even allow teleporting. Or something that does the same thing. I've been reading about command blocks, but haven't really dug into them yet.

It's 102 outside in my town right now. A great time to stay in the AC'd house and mine.

I retired in April this year after 40 years with same company. I don't miss the work so much but I do miss the people. As someone said, I miss the clowns but not the circus.

Just curious, but what would be the reason to turn that off? or is it only something you can do in Creative?

posted a message on Easy Normal and Hard

It's odd, and maybe just perception, but it seems to me that The more of something I mine, the more I find. I'm not talking about basic earth elements, dirt, cobblestone, water, etc., mostly the metal ores, coal, and jewels. That first diamond is very hard to find, then they seem to become slightly more common. Again, this might just be my perception.
