If you right click on the item in the item frame it will rotate and increase the amount of redstone signal coming out of the comparator!!!

    There are 8 increments.

Isn't it funny when people think that every snapshot should contain exactly what they want fixed. Did it ever occur to you that this has been in development since before the release of 1.7? Perhaps, since this update was based on the 1.7 code, they have to get it in place to see what happens before they start doing bug fixes? I'm not a programmer, so I don't know... just speculating. The point is, even with bugs in the game (not that I've even noticed any... I'm not saying that there aren't bugs, just that whatever they are, they don't affect my game play, certainly not enough to make 1.7 unplayable), it is still a great game, and has fantastic support and updates. And you know, if you believe that 1.7 is unplayable, well, then isn't 1.6 still fun enough of a game to play until such a time as 1.7 comes up to your standards?

Oh, new portal frame sizes.. Although I haven't had any need for other size portals (yet).

I just like the fact that I can center a portal in an odd-width room now. ;-)

Not sure if it is new in this snapshot or not... I never saw it in last week's. The biome in the image is a Mesa or Mesa Plateau. It's made up of colored clays.

Saddles can be crafted by using the leather cap and bucket recipes on the crafting grid at the same time. O yeah Mevans the recipe isn't on the wiki

    Thanks. I appreciate it.

    Mevans,

I have to say that this mod so far is amazing! I played it for a couple of hours today and can't wait to play more! Are there saddles available in Middle Earth? Or do I have to find them in the over world?

posted a message on Direwolf20's Modded Lets Play series
Quick question. I've done some research and have been unable to find it so far. In Direwolf20's mod pack, which mod created volcanoes made of black stone? When mined it would become black cobble. I have a world with only a few of the mods enabled, and I just realized that I have not seen a volcano, and I have traveled pretty far. In my other world (with all mods enabled) I had three or four within a thousand blocks of spawn. I thought that it would be in Extrabiomes, but I have that one loaded... and there is no mention of it on the Extrabiomes wiki, nor in any of the other mod descriptions so far as I can tell.

Any help would be appreciated. I liked the look of the black stone bricks.

I'm up to episode 22 of season 5, and I have to say that the Filler from a few episodes ago has changed my life... my Minecraft life anyway. Clearing out big rooms is a task that I don't fear anymore! The only thing I don't like is that I don't get many of the drops when I clear an area. I don't mind that for rooms and such, I don't want to cheat it and get ores and such, but I recently used it to demolish a tower made of basalt brick and marble brick and lost all of it. Not too big a deal though, I then made a quarry from a couple episodes later and took out the center of a volcano with it. Now I have plenty of basalt. I just need to find a good marble spot to use the quarry on next!

Direwolf20, this has been my introduction to mods and I jumped in feet first! It's a little confusing having all of these machines and such that don't necessarily work together, but I'm having a great time learning it all! Thanks!

posted a message on New to Minecraft on PC! need advice
Welcome to PC. My first Minecraft experience was iOs. When I started looking up information on it I learned of the PC edition! It took a little getting used to, but now I don't even touch my iOs version all that much! PC is just where it's at in terms of how much there is to do.

As has been said already, the wiki is a great place to learn. I really don't use maps that much, so I can't help you there.

posted a message on What have you done recently?
I finished re-working my storage room. I have a sorting machine for my farm items, and a bunch of other chests for the rest of the stuff. I still have to better integrate my chicken cooker, as it got blocked off by the sorting machine. I finished my basement level in Nether brick finally, it contains my enchanting room, potion room, and nether portal. I found a skeleton spawner while strip mining, so I built an XP farm around it. It works pretty well. I can go AFK for about an hour and get to 30 XP off of it, so that's nice. I have secret tunnels to my storage room and my mine, and I finished them in quartz block, with a ceiling of glowstone. It looks like a clean room. I might finish the drops into the storage room and mine in the quartz as well... but I have to collect a bit more of it before I do that.

My melon farm is fully functional, and is triggered by pigs, so I just let it go. Everything drops into the collection streams and ends up at the sorter. I have to do the same for cactus and sugarcane still. I also need to build harvesting features into the other farms (wheat, carrots, potatoes.) I think I'll have a sorter at the wheat farm so that the wheat goes to my storage room to be sorted, while the seeds stay at the farm to be re-planted. Don't know what I'll do with carrots and potatoes... as I want them to go to storage, but I also need them to re-plant... hmmm.

posted a message on What's the most complex redstone device YOU'VE made?
I finished my melon farm. I decided to use a tripwire where the pigs can trigger the harvesting instead of a pressure plate. I made a little cave in the pig farm and put the tripwire inside it. I still might try to devise a timer so that they can't trip it again right away... but for now it works fine. I think the next thing to make is the sorting device for my storage room.

posted a message on Replacing my Nether file?
This worked like a charm. I warped into my new nether and... if it is the same nether as previously, the gate was in a different place, but I think it may be a whole new nether. I found a nether fortress much closer than I recall the one being in the previous version.

posted a message on I finally found a Seed to spawn in a Mushroom Biome!
That's a great seed. I love the fact that the Mushroom Island is about 1/2 Taiga so you have plenty of wood at hand to start with. This makes it much easier to start a new world, as if it was just a Mushroom biome, then there wouldn't be any wood to make a crafting bench or any tables with! The first thing I did was make a bunch of bowls and milk some Mooshrooms!

posted a message on Help! I've been walking around for hours.
Well, I had heard that the zombies only dropped potatoes, but I could be mistaken. The best bet if you can't find a village is to build a zombie trap. Find a dungeon with a zombie spawner in it, then build a trap to collect and kill the zombies, allowing their drops (i.e. zombie flesh, carrots, potatoes, etc...) to be collected without having to hunt zombies. I see potatoes drop from zombies quite often, but not carrots.

Other than that the only real option is the village where carrots are already growing. If you have only been playing a few days then it is likely that there will be a village not too far away. But sometimes they just aren't right there, and you have to go farther to find them.

posted a message on Floating Village- Seed Forthcoming
So I started a new world and just near the spawn was a desert village, which was cool enough, except that about 3/4 of the village was floating 2 spaces above water!!! This included the various farms and many of the buildings. Only a couple of the buildings were on land.

I'll post some screencaps later, as well as try to find the seed number if I can.

Has anyone else seen a floating village?

    Update:

    Here is the seed: 76361434

I did make a mistake however, the buildings and farms aren't floating over the water, they are just in water, with the doors a couple blocks above the surface. Still it makes for an interesting village. These screenshots are from a fresh gen. of the world, but in the one I started the other day we built dirt paths between all the buildings so we could get around.
