Lol, I know right? They have all the freedom to add things to the game and sometimes the mods are more fun to play. Considering the economics of the situation though, there's very little incentive for them to keep developing Minecraft, so I'd say we're lucky to keep getting updates at all.
Are you saying that Microsoft threw their money away on this, and that it's not worth billions?

I'm not seeing any pillagers at all in 19w14a. I've been hanging around a two bell grassland village for days. In the previous snapshot though, at a different village, they were spawning all over me. There was also a bug where the raid towers weren't visible, and I was thinking that that village was perhaps right next to an invisible raid tower.

I think it's possible to set up some rudimentary protection from pillager patrols, but they need to go to bed before the zombies are upon them, and they need to wait until the burning zombies are gone before getting up. Zombies are much worse in the morning because not only do they hit the villagers, they also set them on fire. They need to be smarter, and perhaps use sound triggers as a cue to stay home.

In my testing, the villagers will adopt the new skin, but their trades stay the same. I found two varieties of 'new' villager one that has a trading rank and one's that don't. It's all a weird mix of old and new. Villagers are clearly half baked in the snap shot though, I would expect more changes.

Currently villages are extremely vulnerable because the villagers have trouble seeking shelter. Staying up a minute past sundown is enough to wipe them all out.

In the snapshot they never really stop moving at all. You can't herd them anywhere. If they can't protect themselves we need to be able to leash them.

Found a village with 6 villagers, needed some string, stayed up for 5 minutes to get a spider and went right to bed. 5 villagers dead, one left. They NEED to go to bed, and also close the door!

Why, after all this time, change squid? They are an important resource. I just finished my squid farm. Why did you take away my squid?

My windows OS got corrupted and i had to reset. I still have my old minecraft world files but I used to keep them in a different folder than the one in AppData. I would like to change it back to the way I had it but I can't remember how.

Hmm, I think what you are saying is that effectively, even if code exist to spawn them, parrots will not spawn in old jungle.

I cleared some areas of jungle, and killed any chickens or pigs I could find, but I'm having no luck. Are there any other known rules for spawning parrots? I think my jungle area has been fully explored pre-patch, so it's all old jungle.

One more question, I did once clear an area to find ocelots, and it worked. Ocelots despawn however, if you lose sight of them, they are gone. Do Parrots despawn also? Animals that generate with terrain seem to stick, but I haven't looked at ones that spawn after.

I looked for two evenings around my jungle base and didn't find anything. There isn't a lot of exposed grass however.

So it's like ocelots then? You have to burn down an area of jungle?

I love the combination of the elytra and the mob collision mechanic that makes elytra launchers work. Please say it hasn't already been nerfed.

Once you have all the villagers you want, then you have to jump into a nether portal every time it rains so they don't turn into witches.
