Only thing i can think is. Beta is gone start soon. meaning there gone overhaul there protocols for optimization. Meaning new protocols and client. meaning that this server will also have to rewrite that part.

    That's quite the assumption.

Going into beta won't magically make Notch a better programmer. :wink.gif:

Please keep up the good work. Remember developers, if you give it a good plugin API everyone will love you forever.

The fact that he's implementing Lua support makes me love him more than a stranger should love a stranger.

As if that was my entire argument, and not completely taken out of context...

I never said it was your entire argument-- I was pointing out a flaw.

I actually agree with you that Java isn't really the bottleneck, but I'm certainly not going to point to its popularity. A lot of things are popular that aren't necessarily correct.

There is a reason why Java is the #1 programming language for enterprise applications

By that logic, Oracle Database is a fantastic piece of software.

Please don't use the popularity of a language/software with businesses as evidence of its quality.

Not sure if someone else already reported this, but I //set a 4x5x1 cuboid to block 79 (ice) and then without selecting another cuboid (i.e. using the same one) I tried to //set the same cuboid to block 54 (chest). It didn't do anything and gave me the following error:

One block of ice melted into water so I //set 54 again. It gave me the same error and didn't change the ice blocks but changed the water block. Just thought I'd give you this bug report.

    posted a message on Refund
    Dear GamerMan100,

If you are still browsing this topic, I would like to sincerely apologize for the idiots in this thread. It's startling that users could spew such vitriol when you're expressing a genuine concern over your (hopefully resolved) refund.

Please note that, while most of the users here did a horrible job of representing the Minecraft community, not all of us are as completely moronic (although we do have our moments). Let me know if you ever decide to play again; I would be more than happy to assist you.

And a message to the jackasses in this thread (specifically SkyPiercers?! and dan_ftw): you had a chance to show off the wonderful community of Minecraft and completely ****ing failed. You're a disgrace to every single good thing that has come from these boards and I hope you delete your accounts, because I would rather pay $100 for a copy of Revolution X than live with the shame of knowing I play the same game as you. Take a page from Saiko's book: he respectfully disagreed with the OP and typed a well-written and coherent response.

But seriously, guys? All he wanted was a refund and came here to express his concern. He wasn't asking for hax, he wasn't planning a user revolt against All-Mighty Notch, he just wanted a refund, and you react by
Pull your heads out of your asses, kids. GamerMan100 was completely fair with this entire situation.

Swook do you have the server.sh, ServerLauncher.java, and ServerLauncer.class files in the same directory as your minecraft_server.jar file?

Would the #server command be possible by using /say , since Notch added the ability for ops to pass server commands via / ?

My game locks up as well. I can still ESC out to the menu, and I can actually still click around, but the graphics are completely frozen.

I figured it must be a glitch in alpha.
