i do watch stargate but honestly when i first thought of this idea, i thought of a fun way to blow up a world. stargate overloading did cross my mind, infact that might be why i finaly settled on the portal. i couldent think of anything else to use to blow up the world. if nukes were made then id say a nuke at bedrock would do it.
how would you like it if dragons threatened to destroy humanity? if you could get miners to get you ores and soldiers to help clear out caves? ? if you could live in a town that you dident build? if you have said yes to any of the questions above, keep reading.
plenty of people have suggested skills, and leveling up, but that defeats the purpose of minecraft, a sandbox game. so i propose an rpg mode. im shure others have also suggested an rpg mode, but heres my take on how it should be done.
very basic overveiw
the first day will be just like any other day.
after that, humans will begin to very rarely spawn, and small towns will begin to show up.
eventuelly these towns will begin to expand and build walls. nations with citys will begin to form.
wars beetween nations may eventually begin.
skills
here are the skills that will be involved in rpg mode
mining: obveous
alchemy: involves new potions
woodcuting: obveous
blacksmith(ing??): involves making tools
light weapons: involves swords and daggers
heavy weapons: involves new war axes and clubs
cooking: affects how good food you cooks works
each skill will have 30 levels. in addition to learning them yourself, you can be trained by trainers very rarely in towns and sometimes in citys.
NOTE: the diffrent things that you can do ( exp: mine 10 stone/ 5 coal ) combines. it doesent mean mine 10 stone OR 5 coal. in that example, 1 coal would equil 2 stone, and stone is the base.
mining
on skill level zero, you dig 50% slower and can mine nothing but stone. very easy to level from here: mine 10 stone
on skill level one you dig 15% slower and can onley mine stone and coal. still fairly easy to level up: mine 100 stone / 50 coal
on skill level two you dig 5% slower and can onley mine stone coal and iron. somewhat easy to level up from here: mine 500 stone/ 250 coal/ 125 iron
on skill level 3 you dig 2% faster and can mine stone coal iron and lapis lazzuli. a bit hard to level from here: 1000 stone/ 500 coal/ 250 iron/ 125 lapis lazzuli
on skill level 4 you mine 5% faster and can mine stone coal iron lapis lazzuli and redstone. its fairly hard to level from here: 2000 stone/ 1000 coal/ 500 iron/ 250 lapis lazzuli/ 250 redstone ( counts by blocks destroyed not dust collected)
on skill level 5 you mine 10% faster and can mine stone coal iron lapis lazzuli redstone and gold. its hard to level from here: 5000 stone/ 2500 coal/ 1250 iron/ 625 lapis lazzuli/ 310 redstone/ 155 gold
on skill level 6 you mine 15% faster and can mine stone coal iron lapis lazzuli redstone gold and diamond. its verry hard to level from here: 10000 stone/ 5000 coal/ 2500 iron/ 1250 lapis lazzulli/ 625 redstone/ 310 gold/ 35 diamond
on skill level 7 you mine 18% faster and can mine everything. from here it just takes twice as long as the time before to level up and you gain 2% speed a level.
beileve it or not, as of now typeing has taken me atleast 30 minuites do to short attention span so i will go into other skills later. in the mean time ill continue into a storyline ( not exactly a real storyline)
currancy
the currancy in rpg mode would be a standard copper silver and gold coin system. 10 copper coins would equil 1 silver coin. 10 silver coins would equil 1 gold coin. copper ( a new ore ) could be smelted and turned into 5 copper coins. silver ( another new ore ) could be smelted and turned into 3 silver coins. gold bars would now be able to be crafted into 2 gold coins.
you start the game with 1 gold coin and a wooden sword in your inventory.
the "storyline"
when towns begin to form, you can go there. most towns will be cautous. they will have a guard or 2. they will question you and you can earn there trust by saying the right thing.
when you get let into town, the shop keeper will say hey your new in town arent you and he will ask you to kill either a zombie or a spider that is in his basement. after this he will give you 1 silver coin and allow you to buy from his shop. if you are there at night, there is a chance the town will come under atack by zombies. a guard will come call you for help. if you do not help a guard will not survive. if you do then you have to kill 3 zombies that are invading the town. if you do then a guard will say thank you and give you a silver coin. that is really all that you can do in towns in the early game.
the shop keepers inventory:
stone sword - 2 coper coins
stone pick - 2 coper coins
stone shovel - 2 coper coins
fine stone sword - 10 coper coins/ 1 silver coin
redstone dust - 3 coper coins for 10
the early game doesent last long. soon towns that have been around for a bit begin to get walls. at this time 3 new opertunitys open ( sometimes onley 1 ) number one: sometimes a training facility will be built. from here you can train your skills ( more on training above in the future ) . sometimes a bandit will apear in town. if you catch him atacking someone, atack him, and get him to surender, you will get 1 gold coin. a miner in town will come from the mine and tell you they have hit a dungeon and ask you to help destroy it. when you do you will get 4 silver coins.
