It *should* play just fine.
However, from my understanding if you want to find any of the new content (new trees, lapis luzilli, etc) you'll need to travel to a newly created chunk as it isn't retroactively added into existing chunks.

This makes for a pleasing looking route, and a spider though could possibly climb over, he will more than likely die in the process,, if you want to ensure nothing can get through, eliminate the space between track and cactus, and even maybe drop a line of glass 1 block up on the cactus, so like this
Awesome, thanks.. This is what I was looking for.. The 3 wall high method kind of killed the reason I wanted such a long track--the view :smile.gif:
Your method sounds like it would look better and much much less work than the other thing I had worked out..
Where is the track and the on either side would be alternated so spiders couldn't climb up
(top down view)
Perhaps I'll alternate the 'high road' method, the glass tunnel method and your cactus method to make a scenic (but not routine) ride :smile.gif:
Thanks for the suggestions everyone!
Feb 18, 2011My separation of items is similar but I have tons more chests simply because certain things (pork chops, cobblestone, etc) are simply so much more abundant (and/or don't stack).Posted in: Survival Mode
It is to the point where I have started creating rooms in my storage building where 1 room is just food, 1 room is just cobblestone, 1 room is misc. (redstone, gold, diamond, etc)

I almost started an identical thread but my google-fu found me this post..My kids *love* Mo's Creatures but they're totally wrecking havoc in my minecraft world.
Out of curiosity, why 3 blocks high?
Wouldn't below be enough with the track on top of the 2nd level?
  <---2
  <---1
<---Ground level (0)
I have a decently long track (over 1000 track pieces) that I'd absolutely HATE to have to dig up, build up and then replant.. The only alternative I could think of would be to build a glass tunnel around the 'problem' areas (mainly near the islands where mobs tend to be in the way).
On a related note: Is there any mod that changes animals that removes their collision detection? Nothing more annoying than being at a workbench and have a chicken start pushing me around, or a homicidal that keeps trying to push me off a mountain--and obviously the stupid minecart problem. :sad.gif:
