Don't try to make minecraft harder until you've actually beaten it.
Have you beaten the Ender Dragon, the Wither, gotten all the achievements in hardcore? Probably not.

Anyway, went on a tangent there, DuhDerp knows what he's talking about. "Lean from your mistakes", and I'll add "Minecraft is a LOT harder than you think it is".
Yeah, this doesn't look good. It doesn't blend well with the shape. I can see some use for it, but very, very, little. I'd much rather something like sandstone bricks or granite/andesite/diorite stairs/slabs.

Diorite > Marble
Nether Wart > Casca Berries

-Fluctuating style. I've been making this over a long period of time, and over time my style has changed. I am going back and revising old textures, however. Most notable difference is Armour models v.s. Paintings. Armour models were one of the last things I made, paintings being one of the first. I'll get to these later
