    While quite rare, I have stumbled a number of times on such seeds which start in the mushroom biome (and usually an island). I skip them now, exactly because of the problem of getting started from there. One ends up having to leave it pretty much immediately anyway, to fetch at least some more wood, so a better start is to start on a medium sized forest/mix island, with a mushroom island within visual distance. Get some wood, some saplings, some wheat seeds, and swim/boat to mushroom biome area before night...


    I made my first start (after years of non-playing) on such world with a nice forest island + mushroom island in sight -combo, but I then moved on to look for even better later play for the next world. Found one with a large mushroom biome (not island) which had a village mostly on the mushroom biome side. I later realized even that wasn't quite the thing I want, even if it is quite the peaceful thing..


    Anyway, if someone does look for a start right on the mushroom biome, then for options, here is the only seed I have written down: 776131508083013976

    It is not fully an island, because the savanna to south is separated by just a river. (Another mushroom biome is quite near to north-west.) Nothing wondrous in the nearby area otherwise, imho.

    OP apparently was active only for 3 days after the post, so I think the "It's not survival island bro" might fail to be received.

    To me they seem to be definitely much rarer in latest snapshot. I compared the same seed between 1.15.2 and 18a, and while I didn't make a scientific accuracy study, the area around spawn that used to have 15 wrecks and 9 ruins in 1.15.2 has 4 wrecks and 1 ruin (and at least 2 ruined portals underwater) in 18a. 3 of the wrecks in 18a were close each other in a way that could look as as dense as before, but the rest of the area I looked at was like empty. Certainly it could be partially just bad luck (e.g. rolled locations for ruins just happened to hit the local islands, so not being created), but still...


    Another area in that same seed used to have 9+8, snapshot has 3+4 (+1 ruined portal).

    Only nether structures will be modified by this update - ruined portals and fortresses. All else stays the same AFAIK, although in one world my End starting platform spawned a kilometre off from the center island... :|


    (I guess I should have clarified that I meant over all updates since 1.15.2)

    I also have a mention about the mesa (and the nice things in it) in my seed notes, but I thought to keep the description here simpler/shorter, as the main = rarest thing about this one is the mushroom island. I've come along plenty of surface mine systems (almost every time within certain mesa type), so its not that interesting to me any more (I don't make notes about them unless I do a "full check" and happen to find something special in them), but I've only found couple double-mushroom-islands and this single triple-if-not-quadruple-mushroom-island.


    I guess in future I could hide the additional info in a spoiler block. I'm in a seed-search that will likely take quite a while, and will get to find other interesting seeds along the way...


    I haven't tested/done anything with the coming 1.16 series, either. I just hope that the main feature/structure locations will not change with the new version, e.g. strongholds, outposts or villages. (I already know of the coming adjustments to how common certain structures are, and those I don't care about, they were also IMHO too common.)

    The main feature is the size of that mushroom island, about 3x the area of typical mushroom island. Running from about 1440,-2260 to about 700,-3040 in the other end (length about 1230 blocks). The island and its nearby surrounding area is otherwise typical, i.e. nothing wondrous. Due to its large size, it does cover quite a few things under and around it (just make an educated guess about standard/common stuff, it is likely there somewhere... but not each and every thing).


    Starting area is also quite "normal" and easy, coastal plains mixed with dark forests surrounded with hills/mountains and a bit of swamp. All basic animals should be easy to get. Carrots, potatoes, pumpkins, melons seem to be hiding, but nothing a bit of running, boating and quick diving won't solve ;)


    "Normal", except within about 40 blocks from spawn there is a skeleton spawner on the "surface", with only one layer of dirt as roof and one side open to sunlight. Skeletons can still spawn during day in a corner.


    I spotted two mansions within ~12k blocks of start.
