Sphax doesn't do updates for the snapshot releases, only for official releases. If you're using this pack with the latest snapshot, textures will be missing.
Because Sphax made an artistic choice to make them look that way. I think it's a clever idea, especially since a lot of villages appear in desert biomes.
There's some sort of strange shenanigans going on with the chests. I'm using the both the most recent version of MCPatcher and the 128x version of this pack.
Anyone else having this problem? It's probably something really obvious and I'm just missing it.
I think it's a lighting bug caused by the chests switching to nifty new animated models after the update. I saw it too in my world. If you place or remove a torch nearby, the lighting will update to fix the error.
Awesome :laugh.gif:
Also not sure if this is just something on my end possibly or with the TP but i noticed the top right of cobble/smooth stone blocks bugging out or something and the edge of the flowing water has some red text on it from the numbers i assume.
Anyways heres the pic of what the bugged block looks like. http://i.imgur.com/V464o.png
Just wanted to say thanks for an awesome pack. I found four gripes that I was able to deal with on my own but you might want to consider for future updates to the pack.
Gravel: The pattern was a bit "large". I simply shrunk it down, tiled it 4 times in the same space that it was in and it looked 10x better.
Glowstone: Seemed a bit busy to me, I washed it out a bit and added a "glass" glossy layer on top of it to make it feel more like a fragile glass block (who knows how it actually is... just how I imagine it).
Lava: Seemed really orange/yellow and too close in appearance to glowstone. I made it "redder" I guess would be the word for it.
Last but not least.. Window Text: It was really hard to open your windows and read the words "Crafting" or "Large Chest" because of the noise/pattern behind the text and the color of the text. I took a piece of the wooden sign texture and overlaid it on each of the windows (crafting, inventory, chests, furnace, etc) in the place where text would show. It took some trial and error to get it to be in the exact spot but I eventually figured it out.
Other than that, this is hands down my favorite texture pack so far. I've already got 3 of my friends hooked on it as well so you've got quite the following.
And I know it's a long shot but... any possibility we can get the vector source files with each release? Pretty pretty please?!? :biggrin.gif:
I tried your gravel trick, and you're right. It makes a huge difference. I would love to see Sphax take the scale of the grains into consideration and offer up an official revision.
I added a new album of shots from my work-in-progress medieval town. So far, only the harbor has seen significant work, but I have plans for a complete town.

Nope, Chuck Testa. You also need to patch your game. Details in the first post!

It's versioning, not math; 1.10 is acceptable. Besides, Notch already tweeted there will be a 1.10.

Patch. Your. Game.

That looks fantastic. Is that a revised cobblestone texture, or is it a new 1.8 block?

This has been mentioned about four times now. Relax, Sphax is on it.

I love the new signature image! Unfortunately, the size is too big for signatures. I got the following error when I tried to add it:

The complete gallery is here. I've also added some additional images to the previous gallery, including shots of the work spaces and the front of the main building.
