Not all paid survey sites are scams. That's just like saying all porn sites give you viruses.

    Hard Drivin'

There is an excruciating lack of racing games which have extremely banked turns, loop-the-loops, big jumps, and cylinder tunnels... with realistic car physics to boot! I think the closest thing you could get to a modern rendition of that game would be the Carmageddon series.

Oh, you don't know what Hard Drivin' is?

This was an arcade driving game released by Atari Games in 1989. The machine was quite an elaborate set-up with a force-feedback steering wheel, 4-speed H-shifter, and three pedals.

I did, and I can't quite tell who's side you're on. Anyways, I am not bringing it up because I think "nerdy" stuff is cool. In fact, I despise people who like things just because they're "nerdy". I am bringing it up because it interests me, and I want to hear opinions from the community.

It wasn't against you. I was just saying that Pi is "overrated", exactly because of those people who pretend to be "nerdy".

Well, Valve makes fantastic games, holds frequent sales, and Gaben's stated in the past that if Valve or Steam goes under, he'll take all of his DRM off all Steam games. It is still DRM, but it's unobtrusive and the people behind it aren't scumbuckets.

If the day comes that Steam does fail, and Valve does not honor its little "promise"...

Upon seeing the Internet's reaction, I would laugh so hard, I would suffocate!

posted a message on Retro games vs today's games
I'm sick and tired of all modern FPS's being so pathetically slow and awkward, in comparison to older titles like Doom and Quake, which were fast, precise, and smooth. Let me DODGE the bullets, give me full running speed in ALL directions, not just forwards! Stop forcing me to play like a coward and having to rely on your stupid regenerating health and/or excessive health packs to survive getting completely unavoidable damage! Stop making my guns recoil like I'm dyslexic when I'm just trying to shoot the guy, who BTW: 95% of HIS shots hit me, but only 20% of my shots hit him, no matter how well I aim!

I'm not one of those Quake tourneys or anything like that, I'm terrible at old-school FPS's. But why should I have to put up with this backwards crap when I play a newer FPS, just because it's more "realistic"? Why should I have to put up with terrible game design that makes a game, as I would say it "frustrating, but easy at the same time"? That just makes a game a chore to play!

I suggest the OP goes and Google "Maddox geeks aren't sexy".

Because that article tells the truth about how superficial the whole trend of "nerdy" stuff really is.

posted a message on Has anybody rage quit on you?
Yes. In Forza 4, I went into a drifting lobby, because I thought it would be hilarious to spin those guys out. Well, turns out, it was pretty funny and extremely easy to do, because it's about the drift score, not position or laptime, so I had a lot more opportunity to spin them out.

At the end of the race, the other players most likely wanted to votekick me, but as my coup'd grace, I kept on selecting "vote to skip track" to prevent that.

When the next race started... everybody (that's like 6 people) in the lobby ragequit. I was speechless.

My YouTube is usually slow as crap, and my Internet speed is 15Mbps.

If I use a video downloading program (such as the one from Freemake), I get the full speed most of the time. And have a 10 minute 1080p video downloaded in a manner of minutes. And keep my sanity intact.

    Can the ripper explain this?

    Dated? /facepalm

The FX is faster, there is no reason not t get it, and there is certainly no reason to pair a Pentium with anything but the cheapest non-foxconn/biostar H61/B75 motherboard out there, unless you look at the features and know you need something. Also, MSI and ASUS (along with Gigabyte), are about the same level in quality and consistency (whereas ASrock can be a bit inconsistent). In no way is that motherboard inherently higher quality, besides the fact that it is more expensive, which can probably be atributed to the fact that it is full sized, needlessly, I might add. Full-sized ATX builds are simply not needed, the average gamer has a GPU, maybe a Network/Audio card, but not much else. ATX is only useful if you need those + a GPU, or if you have a bunch of expansion cards (i.e. firewire, esata, thunderbolt, etc.).

You make the G860 sound like it is a piece of crap CPU only suitable to people who only use Facebook and YouTube.

But the truth is, if you pair a G860 with an HD 7850, you can play nearly any game out there without lagging for the next 2-3 years.

Of course, if you want to be SURE you will be able to go without upgrading for at least 3 years, spend the extra 100 dollars and get the Core i5 or FX-8350. Buy cheap, buy twice, as they say.

P.S. If anything is outdated, it's the Phenom.

posted a message on Where are the ludicrous gibs?
Why is it that in most video games which are "rated-M", there's usually not enough blood and gore to even warrant a PG-13 rating in a movie? I'm talking about in normal gameplay, not in cutscenes.

Sure, you might get a little splash of blood here and there, but never so much as a beheading from a .50 caliber sniper rifle head-shot, or the corpse being charred black from a flamethrower. Games from the late 90's were far more bloodier and gorier than the watered-down crap we have now. That M for Mature rating used to MEAN SOMETHING back in the day, darn it!

Now, most new games only earn their M-rating from their cutscenes. If it wasn't for the cutscenes and the animal-skinning (even though the skin is still on the animal after the fact), Far Cry 3 would have gotten a T for Teens rating.

This is 2012, we should have better than moving bags of cherry kool-aid!

No it wasn't. It was nothing but a boring, British buffoon trying desperately too hard to be funny. Nerd^3 is just as bad as PewDiePie, because the whole freaking thing is such an obvious act.
