Turds_Happen posted a message on Unofficial Isabella Mod Support 2: Electric BoogalooI did some Industrial Craft 2 Items. It looks a little something like this:Posted in: Resource Packs
Before-
After-
I edited the coffee and rum textures, as well as the electric hoe and electric treetap.I also did the capsules for the Terraformer. The TFBPs.
Update-
With the pipes to go along with them-
To Install - Place those into the Isabella/ic2/sprites, name the first one item_0 and the second one block_cable.
This time I did the rest of the mugged liquids and the cables. Next time, The drill and chainsaw.
Edit again: Don't upload the cable file to your Tekkit, the cables aren't set up correctly. I will fix this.
Edit upon edit: It's sorted. Have fun. I also freshened up the two fancy cables at the bottom. Enjoy. -

ScottKillen posted a message on Running Multiple Minecraft Configurations [WINDOWS]Want to try different incompatible mods? Want to have different versions of Minecraft configured in specific ways for different servers? You can use the following instructions to run multiple different Minecraft configurations.Posted in: Legacy Support
Follow these steps:- Create a folder on your hard drive: (eg: C:\Minecraft)
- Create a 'bin' folder within the folder you created for step 1. (eg: C:\Minecraft\bin)
- For each configuration you want, create a folder within the folder you created for step 1. (eg: C:\Minecraft\A and C:\Minecraft\B)
- Download the Minecraft launcher (minecraft.exe) from http://minecraft.net.
- Place minecraft.exe within the folder you created in step 2. (eg: C:\Minecraft\bin\minecraft.exe)
- For each of the folders you created in step 3:
- Create a 'data' folder within. (eg. C:\Minecraft\A\data and C:\Minecraft\B\data)
- Put the following batch file called minecraft.bat in each directory:
set APPDATA="c:\minecraft\<config name>\data" c:\minecraft\bin\minecraft.exe
so for our two configs A and B, we would have the following batch files:
C:\minecraft\A\minecraft.bat:
set APPDATA="c:\minecraft\A\data" c:\minecraft\bin\minecraft.exe
-and-
C:\minecraft\B\minecraft.bat:
set APPDATA="c:\minecraft\B\data" c:\minecraft\bin\minecraft.exe
MCPatcher
If you want to patch your configuration with MCPatcher, download MCPatcher and place it in the 'bin' folder (C:\Minecraft\bin), then create a similar batch file for each configuration, only change the second line to run MCPatcher instead of minecraft.
Adding Configurations
To add a configuration, repeat step 3 and step 6, above.

I'm not sure yet.
It could be four versions of Stephen or four different skins (one of them being Stephen.)
I like the idea of each theme having a different default character, as if to say, "this is a different tale, another chapter in the story of Isabella." I'm very fond of minimalist storytelling, and Isabella has always done a wonderful job of letting players tell themselves Stephen's tale, rather than telling it to them; it would be neat to have other similar stories to build upon (pun initially unintended, but now embraced.)
Anyway, nice work on the latest Beta! -

ScottKillen posted a message on ExtrabiomesXL Universal 3.16.3 for MC 1.7.10Posted in: Minecraft ModsQuote from Qwertygiy
When the API does come, there will be a few definite advantages.
A ) No more newbie "How I do this?!?!??!!!" posts on how to install because there'll be a built-in platform for downloading non-base-editing mods
B ) Infinite textures without using Forge
C ) Mods can be started whenever Minecraft updates, not whenever LexManos updates after Risugami updates after Minecraft updates.
Also, from what I've heard Forge will still exist; the modding API will be more like a replacement for ModLoader to begin with.
To me, it seems a bit naive to think that Mojang will produce a magic bullet that makes all of our cares go away. The above may actually exist, but Forge does a LOT more than provide infinite textures...there is nothing inherently evil about forge...so why do people seem to want it to go away without a good reason? It solves MANY issues that Mojang didn't/won't.
Which is why I believe that even when the mod api comes out, there will be an unofficial (forge?) mod api to the mod api to fill in the gaps...
No one really even knows if there will still be a bukkit server...Mojang does not announce its plans in great detail. -

ScottKillen posted a message on Scott's Unofficial Isabella Mod Support Center (3/19/12)I play MineCraft with bonemouse's Isabella textures. I have decided (with bonemouse's blessing) to retexture my favorite mods so that they will match Isabella. The resulting textures will never be as good as if bonemouse officially supported the mod, but these textures will fill the gap until when (if!) bonemouse offers official Isabella support for the mods.Posted in: Resource Packs

I'm sad to announce that I will be retiring as a Minecraft texture pack maker (for now) and will not be producing anymore updates for Isabella.
I owe a huge dept of gratitude to everyone who downloaded my pack, especially those who took the time get in touch with me via this post or PM. Isabella has been my most successful creative endeavor, and even though I never made a dime doing it, the hours spent were well worth it.
I'm leaving Isabella in the hands of the community. I'd love to see someone (or some people) take her to 1.6 and beyond. Anyone wishing to continue my work has my permission to do so.
Treat her well.
Thanks,
-Bone
Isabella II is a reworked version of Isabella (now called Isabella Classic.) It offers the same melancholic feel but with brighter visuals, improving the experience on a wider range of monitors.
Latest Download: 1.5v2 - March 14, 2013
Planet Minecraft Mirror
Isabella was designed to make use of custom animated water and lava, Connected Texture Mod (CTM), RandoMob, and Custom Colors. I also recommend enabling Better Grass and playing with a view distance of Normal or lower. To get these features, you must install:

Instructions:
Isabella Classic to Isabella II
If you are interested in converting old Isabella Classic textures to the new Isabella II style, here's is my general method in Photoshop.
To brighten the textures I used a Brightness/Contrast adjustment layer:
Brightness: +25
Contrast: -15
I did not apply this to the snow and ice textures since it just washed them out completely. They are left as-is.
No changes were made to the "breaking animation" either.
I also changed the stone, cobblestone, stone bricks, and other stone blocks by applying a Hue/Saturation adjustment layer.
Layer fill set to 7%
Colorize: Yes
Hue: 65
Saturation: 50
Lightness: 0
No colour changes were made to anything but the terrain tiles. So items and entities remain the same and backwards compatible.
Isabella II to Isabella Classic
To darken I used a Brightness/Contrast adjustment layer:
Brightness: +25
Contrast: -15
Do not apply this to snow, ice, and "breaking animation."
To remove the tint from the stone I used a Hue/Saturation/Lightness adjustment layer:
Hue: 0
Saturation: -100
Lightness: 0

Thanks for the feedback!
So I looked into the droppers and it is working as intended. But I'm not sure what you mean by the texture was sideways.
The grates on trapdoors changing orientation is a game limitation. The only real way to fix that is to change the texture to be symmetrical on four sides.
You may be right about the quartz ore.
As for the CTM. So I used the patcher's conversion tool and for some reason it isn't working on all the blocks. The wool, for example, totally works but the glass does not. I will look into it some more. But GUH! I hate this new texture format. D:
I used Mojang's unstitcher utility. Blame them! (Fixed in v2, thanks for the heads up!)

I will have a functional (if not complete) version up by tomorrow or Friday.

Just wanted to pop in and give a few shout outs.
First, badjman sent me a link to his version of Isabella Classic updated to 1.4.6. Link is here.
My Minecraft time has been woefully lacking these past few weeks but when I do get a chance to play, I've been playing Feed the Beast. I'm using Direwolf's mod pack and Isabella: FTB Edition. This is an amazing collaborative effort! I'm blown away.
Lastly, I popped into Starbucks on my way to work the other week and I ran into a very old friend of mine. It turns out that he's gotten into the Minecraft server business, so of course I mention Isabella. Anyways, he wrote up a little article about me and the pack on his blog that I thought I'd share. It was a bit surreal (and cool) to find myself randomly chatting about redstone logic gates over coffee, something that I rarely get to do in my real life.
3
I have uploaded an update to the pack, bringing it to 1.4.6 and also fixed the trading GUI issue.
I'm super busy with life right now. I will try to be more prompt with the updates to the pack but I ask for your understanding and patience if I fall behind again.

All I have left is the items (which I'll finish today), the new GUIs for the beacon and anvil, the new villager mood particles, and the whole dye-able leather armor thing.

Here's the progress on the Wither.
