posted a message on 403 error, need help, multiplayer
    Hello CharlesFoxtrot,

I see some responses here but none the really clear the air. Error 403 at login is a forbidden code for the Hyper Text Transfer Protocol (HTTP). This, in laymans terms, is saying you are not allowed to access the requested URL. To expand, the requested URL is that of the minecraft login server. The minecraft client is recieving a 403 whenever it tries to login, and thusly you are forbidden from authenticating.

Is there any server or proxy in between your computer and your modem device?

posted a message on How do i set up a server?
    Hello craftingdickson,

I'll try to answer your questions to the best of my ability.

Answer to Question {1, 2, 3, 6, 7}: These operations are done with plugins, I don't know the specific ones off the top of my head. A server such as the Hatventure server has administrators who program said plugins privately for that server alone. You cannot download these plugins for your own use. Your best option is to search the bukkit plugin list for plugins with the desired effect(s). http://plugins.bukkit.org/

Answer to Question 4: I'm not sure what you mean; more information is required. (Sounds like a plugin; see above answer)

Answer to Question 5: Worldedit is mainly command based. I would recommend reading the provided documentation at
http://wiki.sk89q.com/wiki/WorldEdit. If you're one who doesn't enjoy reading, Im sure you could find a youtube video summarizing the wiki contents relatively easily.

Answer to Question 8: This is a very broad question, to summerize: Your server.properties should be configured so the server-ip is equal to the IP address of your network card connecting to your LAN (and hence the WAN). You can simply set the server-ip to nothing which will cause the minecraft server to listen on all network cards. Second, your router should be set to forward port 25565 to your LAN IPv4 address. This will allow packets on port 25565 coming to your external IP address to be routed to your server computer's internal IP address. Now with these two steps completed, and taking into consideration any firewalls, You should be able to connect to your server via your external IP address.

Answer to Question 9: This answer expands upon the answer to question 8. If you can connect to your external IP address then you are set to register that address to a domain names. A domain name such as "playmymc.com" is in the ".com" TLD and will reqiure registration and anual payments to maintian ownership. A free TLD for your use is ".tk". Please look into registration for a .tk TLD.

    Feel free to PM me,

    Bloosy

Why are you Interested in Joining our Server: Appears to be hosted on a home server, rather than paid, i prefer servers with such specifications.
What are your previous server experience: I've been playing SMP just about since it was available for Minecraft, i spent about a year and a half on another server which has now closed, a few months moderating on various servers, and some time hosting my own server.
How did you hear about us: I was just browsing the mcfourms and i came across the thread.
Have you ever been banned: nope.
Why would we choose you over someone else: Why would you? well, probably only because of the application, or personal choice. To be honest, im really just looking for a friendly SMP server to play on, Theres no guarantee i will even stay on this server.

posted a message on Cant port forward right
I cannot determine exactly what router you are using without more information, ergo, i cannot provide exact information on how to port forward. The basic idea behind port forwarding is simple, you attach a static (fixed) local address to your hosting your computer. then your port forward to that address. Then you open a hole in your firewall for that port, and thats the basic theory behind it. I would recommend searching on youtube for examples or tutorials. I'm heading to work now so your on your own.

If you setup your server using bukkit, and you changed your gamemode to 0 but you still have creative mode, then the command probably had bad syntax.

Go into your server console window (the command prompt) and type "gamemode <yourminecraftname> 0" for me it would be "gamemode bloosyboy 0"

posted a message on I need some technical support for our server?
judging from the extra information, i can only determine that you cannot connect the server. nor can your friend through a local IPv4 address, if your friend edits the server.properteis to say "Server-ip=" and just leave it blank, the server will listen on all networking devices. Then your friend should be able to connect on 127.0.0.1 or simply "localhost" However to allow you to join from outside his local network, you would need to use hamachi to create a Virtual PRivate Network connecting your computers, or portforward through the router, assign his computer a static local address and then open a hole for that port in his fireswall.

This problem is also unclear, could you provide more information as to what the error actually is?

From the current information all i can gather is that you want to play as a normal survival player, but still have OP abilities.
If you using the default minecraft_server then it should be fine provided you change your gamemode to 0 "/gamemode <playername> 0"
if your using bukkit, its possible that you may have god mode enabled? but this is just a random guess, I dont have enough information to make a respectable guess as to why this error is occurring.

posted a message on Internal client error: java.net.UnknownHostException: session.minecraft.net
its possible that your DNS records for session.minecraft.net have not been updated yet, you could try going into command prompt and typing "/ipconfig /flushdns" and then see if that fixed the connection issue
