k sweet. ill see what I can come up with for structures. as for the custom trade filter I think ill look into that tutorial and probably just handle that part on my end once I make a village. be a lot easier for you that way and you wouldn't have to deal with it. plus, if you did use my template that'll just open the door for anyone else that likes that feature and could turn into one more thing for people to complain about (every one goin gimme gimme gimme)... as far as the banner either way works for me, whatever is easier for you. as the mod maker I don't want to make it any harder on you, I'd rather do the exact opposite. it likely wont be ready by Monday, but ill see what I can get together for structures...
but I guess the main part that would matter to any of that is weather or not you can set what type of villager is spawned in the buildings... if its random, then it would complicate trying to get a trade filter. I know that the way it works is by editing the save. im not sure where or how myself either. but if you can actually determine which villager type spawns where (blacksmith/librarian/ etc...) then you should be able to consistently determine what they trade. and of course id be happy to make individual shops designed specifically for each type of trader... doing so, id also be able to make sure that those specific traders didn't wander outside of their respective shops... of course on the other side, the standard villages are already designed for each type of trader. so im not sure if that would be useful. if you give me a starting point, an idea of some of the structures you would like to see Ill see what I can come up with...at least iin that sense I can try to take some of the work load off your shoulders and hopefully others will join in as well. I cant understand people passing up the opportunity to get a few of their creations in here so that they could spawn them in an instant. unless they can already do that with mcedit...do you have a banner for this mod? ive never used one before nor am I sure how, but id be willing to start...
I personally would really like to see villagers trade with items/ blocks that have to do with their given profession. instead of just emeralds. as I barely ever find any, and usually have to work for them (trading for emeralds) however doing it that way, its a lil over priced... I mean it takes almost 5 diamonds to get one emerald, and all that's good for is some steak or an apple it costs 3 emeralds just to get a flint and steel, or a pair of shears. thus that pair of shears would actually cost nearly 15 diamonds. its ridiculous (yes there are cheaper yet more tedious ways to trade for emeralds, but that's besides the point)... however if you were to trade a few iron ingots like 3 or 4 for a pair of shears I could understand that as cost for materials, and for them to craft it for you, or give a black smith a sword with the upgraded materials needed pus a few extra for labor and he could convert it for you (stone to iron, iron to gold, gold to diamond). if you check out that map/save I suggested you, they had some pretty great trades in there as well. but what would be even better is if again you could manage it with a config file so people could set it themselves... not sure if that would even be possible. but I know for sure that if it was it would greatly increase the value of this already awesome mod. not only as a map making tool. but also to survivalists like me...
either way I cant wait to see what you end up with. and if you need I could hash out a new trading system (or at least a template for it as I don't know coding very well), but I really hope for a config if its possible...
on another note, I have a few ideas for buildings/ structures, but i've never personally used any map making tools. how would I go about getting them to you (I haven't built them yet) would I be able to do it in a creative world save and just send you the save world with them, or would I have to download other programs in order for you to get them?
that all sounds awesome. when they generate are you planning on having loot being placed in the chests? if so, then maybe you could hook up a dispenser with a villager egg under the floor and a pressure plate on top so when you walk in, it kicks out a villager? or just put an egg in the chest and let people place their own? but now that I think about it, I did test out a map by "luuk" that had custom shops with villagers already in them that used a custom trade filter. I think sethbling has a tutorial on how to do that. not sure how much it will help you with generating them in the world. but if you made special shops with the villagers using the custom trade filter. that would be amazing...
here's the curse forge link if you want to check it out
ok. well thank you for clearing that up. I wasn't sure if that was intended (the sapling/flower thing) or if it was a bug. good to know. as far as it being confusing, and complicated, like I said I understand why you did it. it kinda makes sense. you cant please everyone...lol I love this mod. the only thing I don't like about it is the fact that the buildings look great from the outside. a few glitches here and there with things not generating properly ie: ladders and beds mainly. but on the inside their really cramped. for me its not too much of a problem, I don't really plan to live in them. I just use it for ambience mostly. that and making different types of villages that villagers actually use... so again thanks for bringing them all together into one mod with relatively easy access...
is there a special way to place down the "set" blocks. I finally figured out what each of the medieval activators are, using the wiki to look up each of the id numbers. go to play and it wont let me place any of the blocks...
edit : never mind. I didn't realize that you can only place them on certain blocks. not sure if its a bug. didn't fully test it, but I do know that you cant place them on sandstone. switched it out for a grass/dirt block and placed it own just fine... might be something to look into. and thank you for bringing all the models into a single mod. this is exactly what ive been looking for...activating is a bit confusing. but I understand why you did it this way. cudos and thanks gain
is recipe book forge compatible or not ? I see nothing stating either way in the op, but it says its forge compatible in the mcf mods list??? I need a recipe book. if anyone knows a link to another recipe book that is forge compatible I would greatly appreciate it. if this recipe book is compatible with forge how do I get it to work? I use magic launcher, and haven't had any luck yet...
anybody have a fix for mod textures yet? im using forge 789, optifine A4 and btesting it with carpenters blocks and tmi and I still have purple and black blocks form the mod... it says it was fixed in the op. but I don't see it...
Why cant I open any of the spoilers on the second post? I have the same issue with the op on your asgard shields mod... is it just me or is it universal? if its just me how do I fix it...?
I just got it working but when I put armor on her the game crashes...
