    Crash when i use the hammer on a carpenter's block :/ version 3.3.8 dev r1

    Yep, I got the same thing, on a brand new, fresh install of 1.7.10 with the newest Forge. No other mods. 3.3.7 works fine, though.

    Also, bravo on the 16-step collapsible blocks. Thanks to that, I'm pretty sure I now have everything I need for my project. :D

    Edit: Also, apparently I can never post again after this, as my post count has deemed me to be a mathematical dessert. So... good thread for final post?

    Only thing I'd want out of a new version is slab slopes. Obviously, both the lower and upper parts. That's literally the last thing I need from this mod before it can do EVERYTHING I need/want it to. :D

    This mod, combined with CubeX2's Custom Stuff mod, equals the best combination ever. I was waiting for Custom Stuff to have slopes added, but now, I don't have to, as Custom Stuff blocks interact perfectly fine with these blocks, and everything acts exactly as it should. I'm looking forward to the possibility of these mythical half-slopes, too. This'll definitely be one of my required mods forever, now.

    Cool. I look forward to seeing what you come up with. :)

    Look at what's already there, and then make it like that but up to date. :)

    Also, try to move the old stuff to the bottom and put a {CS1} tag (literally just copy-and-paste those five characters) between the new stuff and the old stuff.

    It's not hard, and anything you do wrong I'll fix. It's easier for me to clean up than to do it all myself. :)

    Thanks. :D

    Well that wasn't too hard. Done and done. I may actually go through and add some more CS2 stuff to the wiki as I figure it out, as it'd probably be very useful to others, as well.

    Edit: Also added some into the Normal block section to make it apparently how the metadata blocks work, cause there was nothing about that anywhere either, and that is by far one of the most useful features.

    Now, another question: Is there any way to make a block that rotates depending on which direction you place it, kinda like the log blocks or anything? Or specifically, any way to make it so that the top texture of a block always faces the direction you place it, thus saving space in textures and metadata blocks? Or must it be done the old fashioned, convoluted way?

    I'll give you the short version since I'm somewhat limited on time.

    The same basic premise of the door can be drawn from CS1: it's a two-part piece that has both a block and an item as components. As such, you'll need to make both in order to use it, and most of the same basic rules apply.

    The door block should always drop the door item when broken. Also, only the textureIndexYP[0] and textureIndexYN[0] are used for texturing, being the top and bottom halves of the door respectively.

    For the item, you'll need to include a line that indicates that it's supposed to place the door. Here's an example:

    doorId = config.getBlockId("exampleDoorBlockID");

    If you're in the bad practice of hard-coding your block and item IDs, you can also just put the number you've assigned to the door block instead of the config.getBlockId stuff.

    Finally, when adding these two things to the mod.js, you'll need to declare them both doors rather than normal types like so:

    mod.addBlock("exampleDoorBlock.js", "door");
    mod.addItem("exampleDoorItem.js", "door");

    I hope that helped you. If you get it working, consider updating the wiki article as a way of saying thanks. If that didn't help you... please feel free to ask for help.

    Welp, that certainly did help. Looks like I had gotten the majority of that down already from trial and error, I had just forgotten to add the actual door itself as a block, hence why it kept on crashing when I tried to place the item. Huh. Well, that's one more thing down. Now to keep slogging through adding textures and blocks so I may finally finish my project! Thanks for the help, too!

    As for the wiki, I'll look into editing it, but I've never done any wiki editing before, so I may be no good at it.

    Ok, this may be a silly question, but I've looked through the thread and haven't been able to find a solution. So I guess I'll just ask.

    ...How do you make a door in Custom Stuff 2? There's plenty of stuff about how to do it with the original version, but nothing since the update, as far as I can find, and that unfortunately includes the wiki. Just a basic rundown of the door itself, and the item dropped by it would be fantastic.

    Well crap. After starting work on textures and stuff for my project, I've come to the conclusion that, to properly do everything I want to do, I'd need about... 5-10 of ExtraBlocksEEs running concurrently. Probably at least one for each individual area. Either that, or some way to dynamically change texture packs when you cross a certain threshold or something.

    Damn. D:

    Are you sure that wasn't just an older config file left over from 1.2.5? Because no config file would generate for me.

    As for slopes, I have tried updating but there are still many problems.
    I have even tried using the new 1.3.2 source files upladed by Malivil over on the slopes thread.
    But when I add that code into MCP, half of the blocks do not show up. Something to do with the inversion code, I think.

    I'll keep trying! :)

    I haven't had any other version of ExtraBlocks installed, and the config file starts with this:
    # Configuration file
    # Generated on 9/24/12 4:09 AM

    Also, it's titled "XtraBlocksEE v2.5.cfg". Soooo... I think, for whatever reason, it was generating right on my computer. Eh, not complaining here.

    As for the slopes, just keep it up, man. You're doing a fine job. I'm sure you'll figure it out soon enough, as you have with the rest of this stuff.

    After checking things out, on my install, the config files generates right in the config folder in my .minecraft folder, as the majority of other mods that have configs do. Also, pretty much everything works brilliantly so far, except that whole glass-doors-break-into-iron-doors thing. Other than that, though, everything seems to work for now.

    Now just get on those DIY Slopes for 1.3.2! :D

    Welp, not to be the usual "OMG ME NEEDZ UPDATE NAO" annoyance, but I will say that, as of this moment, these mods (specifically Custom Slopes and the XtraBlocksXTREEEEEEMEWITHANX version) being updated to work with 1.3.2 is all that's standing between me and actually possibly finishing a project I've been working on for quite a while. Why yours? Mainly, the SMP compatibility. Not to mention the ease of having a crap ton of extra, customizable blocks available for all my texturing needs... Indeed. So I emplore you, good sir/ma'am. Do your best on this. I believe in you. :D

    Ok, first off, custom textured slopes? Perfect for my project. Absolutely perfect. I thank you kindly, good sir.

    Second off, if one were to start using the basic version of Extra Blocks, and you released the more advanced/more blocks versions down the line, can you upgrade to those versions without destroying your map or anything catastrophic like that?

    Thanks for your work on this mod - I like tweaks ;-)

    Humble request: Is there any chance that the fog can be a set distance from the player - radial - rather than a square rotating with viewpoint? It is a bit odd to see things come into view at the edges of the screen only to aim at them and have them disappear.

    Make sure your fog is set to fancy. From the sounds of it, your fog is either set to fast, or your computer doesn't support the radial fog. Hope that helps!

    If I may make a suggestion, would it be possible to add an option to turn the fog off altogether? When playing with far view off, the fog is fine and all, but with far view on, the fog obscures the majority of what you'd be able to see with the extra view distance, even with the fog start as high as it goes. Either that, or push the fog back a whole lot when far view is on. Otherwise, there's really not much use for far view.

    Scratch that. I just realized I always had Load Far on when I was using far view, so of course the fog wouldn't go all the way to the edge. Silly me. Although an option to just turn fog off altogether would still be kinda cool...

    Nice job ripping off Sparx10 there, bro. Next time, how about you don't use HIS LINKS to advertise something as YOUR OWN. And don't tell people that you're not good at making things compatible with each other when you didn't even touch a bit of code here. You didn't even write up the post yourself, you copied that from Sparx10, too.

    Nice try. Your heart may have been in the right place, but you did it in a spectacularly fail worthy fashion.

    By the way, here's the post I reference: viewtopic.php?f=1032&t=281310&start=120#p4414182

    (also, the mod still crashes frequently)
