Seeing as to the fact that the new 1.5 completely SCREWED all of my coding over... again... i got very demorilized. I am extremely sorry to all of those who were hoping for this to be a really huge thing. Without the proper coding help i am unable to make this mod extremely fun. With school over now i hope to be able to start learning the basics of 1.5 coding now. However i have hit another wall, i am on vacation literally... ALL. SUMMER. LONG... I have no time to work on the mod. However what i can do is i can watch lots of tutorials while i am away. maybe. I will try and update this ASAP. I'm thinking that maybe like august 21 ill have an updated version for you guys. I am once again really sorry, my parents arent letting me use my cpu as much, i had finals, im now going on vacation, i dont have proper help (ideas are fantastic, just need coding help). I WILLget this done eventually for you guys. Although whenever id hit a bump in coding i'd get really depressed and sad, i actually did enjoy coding a lot. I am hoping i will be able to get a better grasp of it now and will make this mod better and better. Here is my update for all of you faithful followers of this mod. I hope i will not let you down for too much longer. this mod was amazing and fun to make. If any of you, ANY, could help me code or do something that would be greatly appreciated! (also donating helps) (or you can go to this page every day, its hooked up to adfly so i get like $0.003 per visit xD ) Enjoy the mod if you are downgraded. otherwise help... or wait....
BTW! The ideas sound amazing!!! ill do my best to implement. (after updating of course)
The only way i can think of figuring out lag is something that could find the delay between client side and server side things. I cannot thing of any way that this would be possible with redstoning. However this is possible with certain mods. One such mod is the Macro and Keybind Mod. This mod allows you to say things in client side chat (logged chat) this means that no one besides you can see it. This can be paired with something said in actual server chat (ie "/") something that wont actually report in chat. This set up will say something as a log, and then send something to the server (in this case /). From their you can visually watch how long it takes until you get an error message back. there may be other mods that can do something along the lines of this. But this is the only way i have found so far. In pure simplest form, the way this works is:
1.) Something happens client side
2.) Something is sent to the server
3.) Something is recieved back from the server
4.) Delay between steps 1+3 can be viewed visually manually.
This is the only way i can think of. This should also eliminate the possibiliy of client lag, because otherwise the step 1 (client side) thing would be laggy as well. And with the mod i have, it is immediate so if it is delayed i know its me. If it isnt delayed but step 3 is, i know it is server side. That's about all i can think of.
Both ideas sound good. I would have started updating the mod. But it appears that forge is down... so i cant download the updated forge needed. PM you skype name to talk.
Minecraft 1.5 is out! I was bogged down by homework but am now cleared up! With spring break on the horizon (and a lan party with my friends, gonna try and recruit their help) I am hoping and putting in some new stuff! Hopefully ill figure out the stupid biomes and mobs(they are currently being really annoying). I'm really sorry i havent done much recently guys. I will update the mod sometime within a week(have to fix textures... ugh). I really need someone to make some textures because my current texturer is working on other things. Keep those downloads (or donations ) rolling in! Dont forget to post bugs as well!!!
So ive started a candy mod (you can check it out if you want http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1196239-147-bespeboys-candycraft-mod-updated/ ) and i have reached some coding spots where i need some help and cannot find any tutorials on them. I am a beginner coder(i do know a good bit though) but i just don't understand most of the variables and statements minecraft has already made. I am in need of a few kinds of people.
Coders-
(USING FORGE)i am in need of 1 or 2 coders that can help me with a few things such as:
-Dimensions(portals mainly)
-Biomes
-Mobs(mainly custom animations, sizing, and custom spawning)
-Basic knowledge of most other areas of minecraft coding
Texturers-
I need around 2 people that can make advanced textures for my CANDY mod. meaning being good at drawing candy helps. (Note: the reason for having two people is so that I can evaluate between at least two textures for one thing to see which one fits the mod better)
All of these spots (and more if i can remember what else i needed) are greatly needed and you will receive credit for your work. Please either respond to this post or PM if you are interested in helping.
I'm not sure how to do it... If you find out though, tell me, it could be useful
Is there any way to change an items metadata based off of its durability? Like is there a way for the code to call forth the items durability/damagedness(?) and then make it change metadata to a different item without and properties with the same texture until its repaired?
I have an item that does something on use. Is there any way i can make it so that it cannot break(ie once it gets to the durabilty of 0(or 1) it is no longer usable and you must go and "recharge" the item? I dont want to lose the item, just make it unusable.
Candy staff is looking cool so far. It can now change blocks from normal to candy. Dont quite know how i can make it work on mobs.(need the mobs first as well).
Ive made a "mock" candy realm. It currently does not use the candy blocks in it yet, but it uses a custom portal and it teleports you... Im working on making the candy staff to initiate the portal and also make it a sword at the same time. Running into a few problems for the initiaiting the portal part (animation, sound, and correct block to place) but otherwise good so far. Stupid mobs always give me trouble though.
Okay cool, Im working on making some candy mobs now, however i am having a hard time rendering the mobs to the custom sizes. Does anyone want to get on skype and teach me?
Yaa... The Candy realm should come first becayse without the candy realm , you couldn't place the stuffs.
Agreed. Main coding for the candy realm i think will go to goldstone. I am hoping he can get a realm done sometime soon. (he originally suggested to wait for the redstone update).

WOOOOOHOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! 100TH POST!!!!!
I love your ideas so much. Why are you so good at thinking of these things?!?!?! As you know, i haven't coded much. One, because i have been VERY busy irl. Two, because i am a novice coder(not novice i understand code fairly well now, its just knowing what code to use). I will do the best i can to input these things as soon as i can. I really dont want to do a lot of adding things until i make the candy realm because then i can make everything work together in better unison than if i crammed it into the normal minecraft world.
