Never heard of it, but that narrative made me chuckle.
The thing is, I WANTED it to be a great game so badly. For like, a month I tried, and tried, but the voice recognition was too clumsy to work properly.
There were a few "Nifty" moments where the voice controls really came off as clever, but eventually you find yourself wanting to override the headset and take over the controls manually.
You play as some guy locked in a security room and has access to all the security cameras in this Giant Resort space station. Things go all crazy with monsters, and you are able to contact one female survivor.
The novelty about this was that the entire game was voice activated. It was like playing the classic resident evil games using only the headset.
You told her where to go, what to inspect, how to move in combat, and what to shoot at. Even when to heal.
It was a very awesome concept that sounded good on paper. But in practice...
You: *Sees shiny item hidden in a snack mahcine* "Check. Vending Machine."
Her: "Check what?"
You: "Check. VENDING MACHINE!"
Her: "I'm not hungry."
You: "GRAB THE SHINY THING FROM THE SNACK MACHINE YOU STUPID *****!!!!"
You: "Reload!. Strafe. Left!"
Her: "Heal!" (uses last health pack at full health.)
You: "FFFffffuuuuu!!!"
You: *sees she's in the bathroom* "Take a shower!"
Her: "No way, perv! I'm not going to do that!"
You: *sighs* "NOW she understands me..."
And good times were had by all... I still kinda regret trading-in that game a month after I bought it.

My apartments were less than 60 miles from the epicenter of the Quake. Ishinomaki is a small harbor town just north of Sendai.
I'm really worried about the friends I made and the students I taught.

Spore: Will Wright's Baby for years before he left Maxis/EA games.
DarkSpore: Post-Will Wright leaving Maxis/EA and then EA's attempt to milk this IP for all it's worth.

Meh, I can take it or leave it...
You shouldn't be playing this game if you feel like you *need* to rush.

Do you have ANY IDEA how many "This is realistic" Military FPS games there are?
Do you know how many Japanese "Dating Sims" are out there?
How is this different again?

Has anyone read this book, seen the movie, or watched the TV series?
I freaking loved it. Especially the TV series.
