Unless your shcool's IT department is exceptionally incompetent, you won't just be able to download and install software without administrator access.

Nah, all I need to do is export it onto a flash drive and plug it in. We generally play Quake on the computers, anyway but it gets boring after playing it for a while.

Gonna cut to the chase - any recommendations for games that can run on low quality systems? I mean VERY low quality, I'm playing on school systems. Any good downloadable games that can be played on a LAN?

You probably won't be playing new games on ultra for $150, but you can get pretty close to it.

Yeah, I wasn't expecting all that much for $150. But do you have this card, and is it pretty good?

I currently am rolling on a Radeon 6450 which in all honestly is horrible. I have around $100-$150 to spend on a graphics card, and I've had my eye on this one (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127646) and also this one (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814161401). Both of these are in my price range, and I have read a bit about these and apparently they are pretty good at running recent games. Does anyone have one of these and would make a recommendation, or does someone have one sub-$150 that they would recommend? I'm looking to run most titles at around 45-60 frames on high-ultra detail. If you need any of my specs just ask.

Get the PS2 - PS3 games are too expensive.

I don't really think graphics are important. The PS2 has medium-good graphics.

I do find this the best approach. If we regard money, then that will mean that the $60 spent on a game will be rather expensive, when equal amounts of time will be invested in older games.

I do have a Xbox 360. Although I do have one "new" console I want to be able to play all my nostalgic games.

EDIT: Also, I do have to take into account I do have a LOT of old PS2/PS1 games. I could give up having a newer system for being able to save lots of money on all of the classic games I have for the PS2

I have saved around $100 as of this moment and within the next 3-4 month, save around $250 dollars. I've been thinking about what I wanted to do with my money, and decided that I should get a PS3 since it's going for around $250 as of this current moment. To my knowledge, the current 160GB PS3 cannot play old PS1/PS2 games. Because of this, I have reconsidered if I should get a PS3 or not. So I made this list of the Pros/Cons of each gaming system below

Pros of a PS3 - New gaming system with updated graphics, a selection of newer and more recent games, Blu Ray compatibility, better online mode, a few good HD remakes.

Cons of a PS3 - Smaller selection of older games in comparison to the PS2, inability to play PS1+PS2 games, also I really am not too interested in Blu Ray, to be honest.

Pros of a PS2 - Ability to play PS1+PS2 games at any time, very large selection of well known/successful games, also, I do have a LOT of old PS1/PS2 games in my basement, but no system to play them.

Cons of a PS2 - Games are not the highest quality, cannot play new games, not a very good online mode, if any at all.

So I do have the money for a PS3, but then again I do have the equivalent for the other. So if I were to pick only one, disregarding money, which one should I get?

    Thanks a ton.

My graphics card is out of date. I currently have an AMD Radeon HD 6450, and I'm using a Windows 7 64-bit. Does anyone use or know of a good place to get free updates for this?

posted a message on Minecraft not like it used to be :(
Stop complaining. I've played since Infdev and after a short break between Beta 1.8 and 1.1 I've seen this game get nothing but better. I mean sure, there is definitely a lot of things different, but at the same time it fixed a lot of vital issues. I'm not sure if you were around when zombies dropped feathers, or when the leaves of trees didn't even disappear, regardless of any wood connected to it. The multiplayer was bugged beyond belief, the biomes blended awkwardly, and many things like slimes and clay were impossible to find. And if you think that this was the way Minecraft needed to be, then realize that all you're experiencing is just nostalgia for when you started playing. There's always bugs, and there's always things that need fixing. But complaining that the fellows up at Mojang aren't making quality content is just bs.

posted a message on Dealing with creepers
On the 2 person server with my friend, we usually go hunting for monsters at night just for fun, instead of sleeping in our house. Almost every creature is very easy to kill, except for the creeper. Although I usually hit it and run, on multiplayer it seems like it'll just blow up regardless of range. I have heard that you can kill one with a diamond sword before it blows up, but is there an easier and less destructive way to kill one, without having it blow up? I most use an iron sword.

I think our generation overall is fine, but we tend to have more spoiled upper class teenagers than, let's say, 30 years ago.

But... what about Bill Gates? At least Bill Gates was a philanthropist and donated over 90% of his money to kids in Africa. Not to judge who you should look up to, but give the guy some credit.

Martin Luther King Jr. would be up there for me.

I have weightlifting as a class in high school and I just started, actually. I need some tips for everything I need to do to be able to become much bigger muscle wise.

I go to the gym twice a week and work out for a good hour, and I'm not noticeably "big". If you're expecting to take a few month's worth of classes and be as huge as a NFL player, then you're setting your standards too high. I've not grown in muscle size, but muscle strength.

A college degree is pretty much the only way for a "career". Of course there are people who do things like make Youtube videos, but the odds of that are much like the odds of someone being an actor/actress.
