When I do a search I can find C:\Users\New PC\AppData\Roaming, but if I try to get to that folder via Windows Explorer I can only get as far as C:\Users\New PC (which has a "locked" symbol next to it. When I click on \New PC, there's no AppData folder in it.
How do I get to the AppData folder?

type in %appdata%. i don't think you can get into /appdata. but /roaming is where ".minecraft" is... i don't know why you'd want to get into /appdata

How did you hear about us: i was told by my mailman. he told me in a dream. and it was about 78° in my room at the time. Have you ever been banned: i've been banned from my own server lol! but it was in good humor. elsewhere, no. Why would we choose you over someone else:because i believe i can bring hope and prosperity to your server. i will also cut taxes and build parks all over the city.
i think the best visual appearance for chests is leaves above them. i actually never knew about any of the other tricks with chests. the leaves one was my only one.

but to answer your question, vanilla is the only thing i play. no textures and no SMP isn't considered vanilla per se. vanilla is just simply "no mods"

So anyway, I want an old world. So what I was thinking was getting my hands on an old 1.2beta server jar. and running it to generate an older seed. Since new version chunks will generate, I was thinking of just opening the world with MCEdit and loading it all before it loads new chunks.
Does anyone see anything wrong with this? Would I just be wasting time?
I think the ores we have are fine. I think they struck a good balance between the kinds of things we can make with all the current ores. What I really want to see is new craftable decorative items, like a sideways slab, or a half slab(so quarter-block). Maybe even a slab with half a fence post sticking out.
This topic has always baffled me.
I don't think minecraft was made to challenge anyone. The real challenge I really see is being creative and really detail oriented with things. It seems that the majority fails at it entirely.
OP, what you're implying is that the devs meant to make the players feel frustrated or challenged by the game. I'd love to see you defend your implication.
