The villages look really nice (actually better than vanilla imo). The only problem is you get random anvils/enchantment tables spawning everywhere.

Now, when the actual Hololens comes out, someone should observe that world using it. Minecraft Hololens in Minecraft on Hololens.

Looks the same to me. Maybe it's the weird lighting making it look different?

This is epic! I an literally hyped for Snapshots!
But, this breaks the mob addition pattern.
1.0 - mobs, 1.1, no mobs, 1.2 - mobs, 1.3 - no mobs, 1.4 - mobs, 1.5 - no mobs, 1.6 - mobs, 1.7 - no mobs, 1.8 - mobs, 1.9 - mobs.
I hope that doesn't mean 1.10 and 1.11 will have no new mobs... Or they're starting a new pattern where every update has mobs.

Not really, because there's a cool down between hits anyway so spamming 2 diamond swords would be as effective as 1.
Also Jeb said somewhere that you're only able to attack with your main hand.

Honestly, I'd be ok with dinosaurs if they made them fit in with Minecraft. No DNA or fossil reviving or any of that stuff, just dinos as new mobs you could find in the world. A lot of people are saying they wouldn't fit in with the game because they're extinct, but if you think about it, Minecraft isn't really Earth. It's just a world where some of the animals happen to look like blocky versions of Earth animals. Dinosaurs, or mobs that look like dinosaurs, don't have to be limited by what happened to them in real life.

May 16, 2015baddaspig posted a message on Dungeons in Minecraft and YouPosted in: News
My theories about dungeons:
The dungeons with spawners in them (mineshafts, dungeon rooms, nether fortresses, and strongholds) were built by the pigmen, since humans and testificates have not invented spawner technology yet. The pigmen are extinct now because when they discovered the nether, they were infected by the virus which wiped them all out, then spread to the overworld and killed most humans, causing the zombie apocalypse. Some humans survived because they were immune to the virus, these are the players today.
The desert wells, pyramids, and jungle temples were probably built by early humans or pigmen. Desert wells were definitely built by humans/pigmen because they look different from the wells in desert villages, so we know testificates didn't build them. As for pyramids and jungle temples, they use redstone for the traps and only humans and pigmen have knowledge of redstone.
Ocean temples I think were built by some sort of ancient underwater race (don't say mermaids, don't say mermaids) Mermaids? Stabs Discovery Channel guy in the throat no of course they weren't mermaids. Anyway, whoever these ancient sea people were, the guardians are obviously some kind of golem that these people made to protect their temple. The reason why I think they're golems is they seem to be made out of prismarine.

Ok I'm gonna take a wild guess at what the new arrow types are.
Orange: incendiary, aka fire arrow. Probably lights blocks and/or mobs on fire (definitely blocks, because otherwise, the Flame enchantment would replace it).
Yellow: glowstone arrow. Idk maybe it will be used to place light wherever it lands? Could be useful for exploring caves. Maybe also if you hit a mob with it, the mob could get a yellow outline so it's like a tracer arrow. This would make hunting people down in PvP a lot easier.
Green: either poison arrow or slime arrow. I'm leaning towards poison because there is currently no poison enchantment, whereas a slime arrow would be basically the same thing as knockback.
Black: I've heard people say Wither arrow, but personally I think it will be explosive. Jeb has already stated that he doesn't want the Wither effect to be something players can use. Also a wither arrow would be kind of stupid because it's basically just a stronger form of poison arrow.

May 1, 2014baddaspig posted a message on 14w18a Snapshot OverviewMy new favorite survival challenge on servers will be to put someone on one of those slime/piston vehicles (idk what they're called), a hundred or so blocks above the ground, and just set it off in one direction. The idea is, eventually they'll either find an ocean to jump into, or a tall enough mountain that they won't die from fall damage, and try to survive wherever they land.Posted in: News

I think he just means being able to download the mod on Curse, which is already possible, so idk why he'd say that.

It's actually an amphibian.

How's the 1.10.2 version going?
1
They're doing ice dragons and then releasing it.
0
So now are you guys going to release it or are you working on ice dragons? Because I read somewhere on this thread that you're going to release once the fire dragons are done.nvm got my answer. But apparently you can't delete comments.

Wait so this: is only 30 blocks long? It looks a lot bigger.
Edit: so I just checked in a non-superflat world, villages are apparently smaller than I thought.
0
I'm guessing those are newly hatched dragons. Considering Stage 5s are the size of small villages that's a lot of size difference.

Raptor said "Flight mechanics are being tuned e.g. controls, attacks. 1st crack at spawning in natural structures has commenced (e.g. roosts, caverns), balancing dragon abilities, for example, preventing fire blast from 1 hitting."

Is the secret hardcore feature coming back?

If you do add the Nemean lion, just saying it would be overpowered if it actually blocked all damage like in the myths. Maybe just give it as many armor points as a full set of diamond armor (and hitting it in the mouth would bypass the armor).
1
Well that's awkward.
By the way are you guys still taking suggestions? I was reading about mythological birds the other day (because of Pokemon Go, apparently all three legendary birds are based on actual birds from legend) and found that the phoenix and roc could fit in with this mod. Although both might be too much, maybe just pick one if you like it.
The phoenix, a bird of fire about the size of a player, is found in the desert. It flies around and avoids people, making it hard to hunt. Upon death it burns up, leaving behind a bunch of phoenix ash, phoenix feathers, and a small fiery egg. The egg can then be incubated in fire, similar to a fire dragon, to hatch a baby phoenix. The ashes and feathers have some important function, idk, but you guys have had great ideas with the dragon's blood and scales so you'll probably think of something. Additionally, the tears of a phoenix can be used for brewing, maybe as an alternative to ghast tears because of their regenerative properties? To attract a nearby phoenix, you must drop golden apples on the ground; that idea comes from the Slavic version of the phoenix myth where it steals the king's golden apples.
Also what's weird is I feel like I already suggested the phoenix at one point, but I guess it wasn't for this mod because I can't find it.
The roc is a giant eagle-like bird, the size of a small dragon, that inhabits coastal cliffs. It preys on squid, hippocampi, and even sea serpents (that's actually from the mythology btw). Due to their predatory nature, rocs are not tameable, but their eggs are prized as a delicacy, as one egg can feed dozens of men and is a favorite food of dragons (will accelerate dragon growth). Their nests also contain treasure, including the remains of both sea serpents they've hunted and bold heroes who have tried to steal their eggs.

Did they say that somewhere? I can't find it.

This was a comment I made on a pattern that I noticed with updates (prior to 1.10 snapshots being out). It predicted correctly that 1.10 would be focused on mobs. The main idea is that every other update, Minecraft focuses on mobs. 1.4 had new mobs, 1.5 did not, 1.6 did, 1.7 did not, 1.8 did, 1.9 also did but they weren't the main focus, and 1.10 did with a very clear main focus. It switches from "no mobs" every other update to "no main focus on mobs" because updates are getting bigger and therefore are likely to always include a new mob despite that not being the main theme of the update.
Anyway based on this model I have predicted that 1.11 will not be focused on mobs. Maybe it will have one or two but they will not be the main focus of it. That means we can expect to see something else in this update. Personally I think a new ore might be part of it, since we haven't had a new ore since 1.5, but it will most likely have some utility use and not a new tier of tools. Any other ideas?

How are you guys doing with the fire dragon? Also I noticed everyone's comments relating to that kicking suggestion were removed, kind of weird but I guess the thread is better off without off topic arguments.

They actually went extinct because, being bigger, they relied on larger prey for food. When the bigger prey (mastodons and stuff) died out, they starved to death because they couldn't compete with the grey wolves, who were smaller and could survive on rabbits and deer.
Also fun fact: In Alaska, there is a subspecies of grey wolf called the Yukon wolf, which is the same size as a dire wolf. They mostly eat moose, like dire wolves would have, but they're just bigger grey wolves, not living dire wolves.
