    Now these blades interconnect with each other easily including the delivery system, from the length and the width so its easy to expand this trap quickly:



    here is 8 full size blades interconnected in width and length.
    I just mirror the design for each quarter of a squre to get all the drops flowing into the middle:



    and last but not least here is the save file with the full sized trap, it can still use some improvements, like getting rid of the squid but it works damn good still.

    So here is a short tutorial and pics of how I made this trap:

    WE start off with a single spawn cell, the mob spawns on the pressure plate and get pushed off by the piston right away.


    then we add another opposite leaving a 1 block gap for falling:


    you can stack these on top of each other for as many as you like:


    Then put 8 of them in a row, this forms the basis of one blade.
    I have used contrasting colours for this tutorial for clarity but you could use just about any solid blocks:


    then add the chutes to keep the mobs going straight down to the killing zone (i have made them short here but you would want them to be about 24 block high or more :



    then cap the ends, I would normally use a stone block here but have glass for clarity:



    now the killing zone and collection system,
    the mobs fall between the 2 stone block onto the fences covered by water, the water is flowing from left to right and sweeps the drops under a 1 block high gap through the signs that are holding the water back.
    they drop into the channel beside the killing zone and are moved along very fast by water over ice.




    Here is a pic of the spawing cell connected to the killing/collection system, with a really short chute for the purpose of this tutorial. this is a completed blade.

    yay finally back from work, damn long day 14 hours :dry.gif:

    yes its just a basic mobs spawn/fall/die and water brings me the loot. but its the design to maximise that process that counts and as Malacodor said pistons help alot.

    I'm just getting some pics together to show how this works.

    there is 1 fall point for every 2 spawn points, so they get killed below their own spawn, the items themselfs are the only things moved around.

    I'm at work now but will post some files when I get home and explain how it all goes together.

    actually I just used the 24 block limit for spawing and added a couple more for good measure, seems to kill them.

    This is a mob trap done in MCedit of course :wink.gif: before people start complaining about being legit and why you need that many drops, I did this to see how far we can push the envelope.

    its made of blades with each blade being 8x9 blocks with this trap having a total of 80 blades :blink.gif:

    In a 10 minute period I collected 17,151 items so should do 102,906 hour. This was the first full run I did so who knows how much more I can squeeze out of it.

    I will post more detailed pics of its guts after I get some sleep, but here is a vid of it in action and another of me testing a single blade.
