ohh well doesn't matter I just use FTB. They have all the worth while mods anyway.
Easier multiplayer too with the homogenized modpacks...
I guess curse is good for the single player who only wants a few extra mods... -
Apr 5, 2013azzanine posted a message on Minecraft Surpasses 10 Million Sales, 1.6 Feature Spoiler AlertWhy do people seem to hate horses here so much?Posted in: News
Really, it confuses me greatly. How can a beast that assisted mankind with travel and industry back in the in the days before the engine (Both steam and combustion) goad such resentment/ disrespect? They even rode in to war with us shed blood with us and died with us? I'm not saying you should all love them but sheesh... there's a heap of horrid horse hate here...
Really, why do you hate them so much? Was there this much hate for taming wolves? Ohh who am I kidding there's a mod out there named after that hate (Better then Wolves Mod).
So haters gonna hate I guess... -

But at least if I was forced to play vanilla again I won't be as bored. -

Quoth the modder:
*coughs* Redpower, maybe? You DO realize it's been updated for 1.4.6?
*return cough* Yes, I was speaking in the context of vanilla though.
*clarification cough* But I could have been clearer I suppose. I know of redpower, FTB and Mindcrack.
In vanilla terms they could totally re-innovate redstone if they allowed wire to be placed on walls and to be able to place torches on the underside of blocks. That is if they don't just whack in redpower alloy wires (which might bug Eloram). -
Jan 20, 2013azzanine posted a message on 13w03a Ready for TestingFrankly the dropper block would have excited me if mod packs like Tekkit and FTB didn't already exist.Posted in: News
This would have been an awesome update if I had not already discovered mods.
I mean, there was a mod that had this exact functionality dreamed up in beta times. Install Railcraft only and you end up with several vastly clever block that does what this drop block does but more.
I don't think I will return to Vanilla just yet, but at least if I had to for some reason it will be a tad more interesting. Hope they add more stuff like the dropper.
Also wall-bound redstone has to happen at some time... -

I wonder what a properly moderated open ended FPS sandbox would turn out like. Think of AXE of spades only more fleshed out and expansive. -

So how hard did you fail? -
Nov 10, 2011azzanine posted a message on Interview with Joel Levin of MinecraftEduIll say it once ill say it twice. Games do not teach you anything, games however are a good pass time where you can apply logistic thinking.Posted in: News
Then again this program is for 2nd graders and I take it the teacher hasn't based the WHOLE of his curriculum on Minecraft. Actually it could be a great rewarding activity that a teacher could use for an occasional treat.
But that's all really if I was a parent and I found out the teacher was just playing computer games wit my kids them I'd be pretty pissed. Also I wasn't aware you could make such UI's for multiplayer... -

Minershoes is rubbish in comparison to this tool... All the things you mentioned in your post can be done by Paril's program with relative ease.
I mean I was making another skin with SkinEdit I was working on the head and torso thinking "maybe MCSkin3D isn't that great" as it clearly has smoother tools. Then I got to the limbs and I really missed the ability to draw directly on the model. -

Nov 4, 2011azzanine posted a message on A New Way of Learning With MinecraftMinecraft is horrible at TEACHING valuable lessons I have seen many a dumb ass play this game and not learn a thing. It is however a decent place to apply logistic thinking but you can't really learn anything from it. Still it should be kept out of classrooms as it will just waste students and teachers time. Then again I'm all for the game being available on school computers to play during their breaks but not as part of any proper curriculum.Posted in: News
If I had a child I'd want them to be educated not babysat at a pseudo arcade... They can play when they get home. -

Hmm It sounds like a reasonable ask but I doubt many people would play that mode.

It's usually a normal crafting table with a storage compartment and crafting grid that acts as a template that uses actual items or ghost items.
Then again the only thing I could see a autocrafter being useful for in vanilla is making bread automatically.

In other words, what are you talking about?

Good.
TBH I'm not a PvPer, but the idea of the simple iron bucket being a terrifyingly effective weapon is very amusing to me.
What do they call it again? Bukkfu? Krav BukkaH? Pailrate?
Yeah I'm just making that shizz up.

Also, I seriously don't know how this hasn't become a legal issue. I guess calling it a "Donation" kind of negates that. But pay to win servers are essentially selling Mojangs IP under the pretense of a donation for a server.
That being said, I've "ran" a server before, depending on your region and where you want to base your server. For a server that can handle 20-30 people you sometimes have to spend 100+ dollars. It really depends on the hosting service though and region (Aussi based hosts gouge the out of you). Servers are not cheap and some servers that have donation systems only get enough to mitigate cost a little. And those cheap servers tend to lagg a fair bit, the optional extras server hosts provide that allow the game to be pleasantly playable can stack up. There are ways if you are savvy enough to make the cost negligible but there's still a cost.
It is really sad too that servers that have reasonable dignified non OP perks end up punished becasue the player base won't donate unless they get their god powers. IMO I think the best and most reasonable donator perk servers should be entitled to give is land claim space.
If I was to run a proper large scale public server I'd lease protected claim space under the pretense that they are buying the right to use a parcel of space on the physical server. If the server was a home they'd be a roommate entitled to an agreed to lot with it's terms and conditions. I mean they are helping you pay the bills they should have a secure indestructible (by players) it's only fair.
Aside from security and titles/ ranks (I never understood their appeal) anything outside of those things people have no justification to sell, even if it's OK by law due to some donator loophole. To me OP donator perks are a symptom of an ailing server that shouldn't be running or wont be running for long. It means people find your server that boring that they need godmode to even stay interested. Then again that might not be your fault, I mean it really seems like two thirds of the player base has ADD. You might NEED to give out unlimited diamonds to even keep them playing let alone paying.
This emerging corporate donations culture and their dependent market that has spawned from SMP hosting scene is starting to sicken me. Money makes the world generate but that's no excuse for some of the pathetic donator revenue models I've seen...

I was gonna say, this game is entirely random. But I guess if you posted your seed someone could probably figure it out.
But then does Playstation have that ability?

Like run at them with a sword melee them if they run change to a bow and finish them off. Or take pot shots from afar if they rush you use your sword.

Like a stone building that uses a combo of stone type blocks, a log cabin, a workshop that's a combo of stone and wood.
Often I see a pack that has a lot of artistic merit and care placed in to each block only to have the pack look horrible with many builds forcing me to not use it. (When a pack wrecks the look of wood it tends to be a deal breaker for me).
While this map showcases each block in it own merit, Minecraft is more then one block. Also Texturers tend to use fancy graphical enhancement mods that randomize ore, connect textures. These blocks need to be showcased on at least a 3x3 surface.
Then again I assume any texturer worth their salt is also at the very least a competent builder and would make their own maps. This maps is likely better used by Youtubers who "review" packs.
So everything I said is probably a non issue.
