Luckstrong posted a message on Future Updates Sub ForumWe got this thread to be officially popular! Great job!Posted in: Forum Discussion & Info
I would just like to say thank you to Jefe323 for directing users to this thread when they express concern about this issue.
Hello there Minecraft Forums! This is my first suggestion so bare with me!
My suggestion for the forums is to add a sub forum to Beta- Survival Mode, Future Updates. Too many times have I seen a well made thread and discussion be locked and told to discuss it in one thread. (Example: Beta 1.7 Discoveries and Discussion!) While I do agree discussion of speculated and known future updates don't belong in the Beta- Survival Mode section, I don't think the discussions reach their full potential in one mega thread. For example. a player posted a thread talking about the new textures of cobblestone, mossy cobblestone, and bricks. Many players talked about why they liked and disliked the addition- but it was locked and directed to the mega thread. The use of the mega thread really discourages individual opinions and discussions based on a specific topic. The limitation of users to one thread for a wide variety of discussions is both unorganized and inefficient. It's like only dividing books in a library by Non-fiction and Fiction. You would have to search through all the fiction books just to find Lord of the Rings! If a sub forum completely about future updates was created it would allow much more serious discussion and make the jobs of the section moderators easier, as players would post in the sub forum about future updates instead of the main section.
"We already have a thread for discussions like this.
No need for duplicate threads."
A quote from a moderator. The main problem is these threads aren't duplicate! They are far more unique and have more in depth discussion than the mega thread can cover. The mega thread should just be a list of all confirmed/ highly likely but speculated future content to the game. Players should be able to freely discuss their opinions and such more freely and easily in a sub forum.
Edit: I do not mean to cause any friction with any moderator, I understand they are doing their job. I just feel there needs to be a change.
Please post if you agree or disagree with me, and why. Constructive posts are highly appreciated, I want to see both sides of the argument's reasoning, not just yes or no.
New idea: Remember before the Halloween update? We had a sub forum called the Alpha- Minecraft Halloween Update. Perhaps this forum could be named the Beta- Minecraft Adventure Update. It could be used to discuss the future update, as well as the update's features when it first comes out.

Update:Had an administrator take a look at it. I'm currently in discussion with them about what can be done to improve the idea to make it plausible. They have also agreed to pass it on to other staff for further opinions on the subject.
Update: One of the original problems with adding a new section was moderation. That doesn't seem to be a problem though, as they have added a whole section just for the pocket game.
Update: We achieved a 1.8 forum! Now onto a permanent Future Updates Sub Forum! HURRAH!
If you support this please "sign" the petition by giving reputation to the OP. :smile.gif:
Update:It seems they're sticking with future update forums, there's a 1.9 one now! -

A mod has to do it, you can either PM one, or ask for them to shut it down in the thread itself.
Not sure how complete/accurate this is so I'm not adding it to the OP unless it's confirmed.
Confirmed. Mostly, anyways.
Report the original post asking for it to either be locked/deleted. A moderator will get around to it when available. -

Great thread! I have some questions too, with answers ofc :laugh.gif:Posted in: Forum Discussion & Info
Q. I made my account before the 20th May 2011 and I can't log in, how do I get it back?
A. If you don't have a Curse account already, register one at www.curse.com then click here at the sign in page. Type in your old MCF credentials in the left box that appears, log in and then merge it with your Curse account at the next page. If you don't remember your MCF password, use the MCF password reset form. If you still can't log in there with your old MCF account, then log in with your Curse account in the right box and post about your problem here.
Q. How do I get a name change?
A. Request it here! -

minalear posted a message on Removing Friends? Why would you want to do that? We love you! (not really... don't know who you are)Posted in: Forum Discussion & Info
Anyways, in the top right click your name and a pop-up (pop-down?) menu will apear. Click manage friends. Find the person you wish to remove, and click their name. You will be on their profile now. Underneath their avatar should be a link labeled "remove me as a friend." There you go! -

Im posted a message on NEW [Kemonomimi] 獣耳 Neko ThreadPosted in: General Off TopicQuote from Feryll
I think the first question "Is neko a subset at all of furrydom?" would be my question.
Neko = ears/tails
Furry = animals with human features, like standing upright and wearing clothes. - To post a comment, please login.

Now that that bit of retardation is out of the way, I don't think it really matters if somebody has perfect grammar/spelling, as long as the message is clear.

Q. How come some people can have such large signatures?
A. They made their signatures before the restrictions were put in place and haven't edited them.
Q. What do the icons next to a thread's title mean?
A.
Q. I have a warn status bar, am I in trouble?
A. Hover your mouse over the bar, it will tell you a what percent you are at, 0% = no warning, if you have warnings, click "Warn Status" and it will tell you what you were warned for, you should also get a notification. Penalties are as follows, but are variable depending on the severity of the offense (1 point = 10%):
1 Point: No Posting Suspension
2 Points: 3 Day Posting Suspension
3-5 Points: 7 Day Posting Suspension
6-7 Points: 14 Day Posting Suspension
8-9 Points: 30 Day Posting Suspension
10 Points: Permaban
Q. Reputation, what is it, how do I earn it, and how do I know when I got it?
A. You earn a reputation point every time somebody clicks the green + button on the bottom right of your posts, you can't see it on yours but you can on everybody elses, and if you click the number you will find out who gave the person a point. There is no current way to be alerted when you receive reputation, and it doesn't effect anything.
Q. What is this title below my profile picture (examples: Newly spawned, Diamond Miner, Pig Tamer).
A. Once again, purely aesthetic. Your rank goes up along with how your number of posts, and there is a slightly outdated list of all titles here.
Q. How do I change the title of my post?
A. Go to your post, click edit, and then click "use full editor" (should be towards the bottom of the editing area). After clicking that their should be an option at the top of the editor to change your post title.
Q. How do I get a name change?
A. Request it here!
Q. I want to have my topic removed, how do I do this?
A. Report the original post asking for it to either be locked/deleted. A moderator will get around to it when available. This is also the way to request a topic be moved to another part of the forum.
Q. Somebody is spamming/insulting people, what do I do?
A. Report their post and say in the description of the report that you believe the person is spamming/being offensive.
Q: Why aren't my videos showing up in the video section?
A: If you just submitted it, then wait awhile, a video moderator must approve it first. If it has been awhile it means that it was not approved because it:
1. was not related to minecraft
2. had inappropriate material
3. the video has been made several times before and yours contributed nothing (ie. how to install mods).
Q: How do I add pictures to my post?
A: Type it like this
Q. How can I be notified when somebody responds to my post?
A. On the top right of every page your profile picture is there, click it, and follow these steps:
1. click "edit my profile" below the search bar
2. click "settings" on the brown bar
3. click "notification options" below where you clicked "settings"
4. choose how and when you want to be notified.
