#2 Country and Age (this is for our demographic purposes)

#3 How did you hear about us?
- MC.net
#4 Why do you want to Join DarkTide?
- It just looks awesome. Most servers have an incredible amount of rules about PvP, stealing (or griefing as they call it) what your buildings are supposed to look like etc. Since this server doesn't have those I'm free to play how I want so that's why I want to join.
#5 Did you read and understand the rules?
- Yup, listen to admins, no hacking, if you can do it its legal.
#6 Have you logged on to DarkTide at least once?
- Yes I did
Oh God I hope your'e not serious about that purchase.
If you are then I can only say enjoy your pretty paperweight. 1.3GHz is unacceptable for today's gaming standards. If you want my advice return it and get a 2.0 Quad at the very minimum. That processor will last you till nest year at the very very lastest.
The graphics card is not going to give you the performance of a proper GT335M because it will be factory down-clocked because they don't want your laptop to overheat.
The RAM is okay.
A HD that is 5.6k RPM?........what? 7,200 at least man.
Well yeah that's my alienware rant...if you could call it a rant.
I agree if he can aford to send his team on holidays every two minuets he can get a good server also over 1,000,000 people have bought it and about 1,000 per day that is $15,000 a day!!!!!!!!!!!! he can aford a server which stays up
Every Tuesday the Blizzard servers are taken offline to do maintenance. Sometimes for periods of 6 hours or more. Now you're telling me that if a company who is raking in $15,000,000 a month, (just from the WoW subscriptions) with literally thousands of staff worldwide, doesn't have the technology to keep their server up 24/7, you expect a team of 5 people with a game that is still in BETA to do better?
So my point is, Blizzard servers even go down sometimes......enough said.
People really need to shut the **** up with the "omg ur breakin mah game" ****. It's a mod, if you don't ****ing like it, don't download it and join a whitelist server. The mod is fine as is and only needs to be updated to work with 1.3, nothing added.
For ****s sake, it's also helpful when digging subways so you can steer clear of other people's mines/houses, bodies of water/lava etc.
I built a massive subway linking two very far towns and I can't count the number of times this mod helped.
God damn.
Your point is invalid. I don't know what kind of misconception you have about the whiltelist; but it doesn't stop people from using this mod. Whitelist are really only there to stop griefers since most of them wont bother going through the process.
This mod also can't let you see someone else's tunnel unless they line it with cobble or something.
Its not the fact that I just don't like it, I actually do like using this for SSP. But I don't want my server to have all its diamond farmed by people using this mod. As of right now there is no way you can detect if someone is using this mod so it does "Break the Game". I want the creator to keep this away from SMP till he (or someone) can make a filter. To allow SMP servers to block users from using this mod.
If he doesn't allow in smp, then people can still use invisible textures
Invisible textures only allow you to see spaces underground, for example if there is a cluster of diamonds surrounded my blocks you won't be able to see it using the transparent textures. The X-Ray mod shows all ores visible (by visible I mean you could see them from whatever cavern they're in) or not. That's why I say it breaks the game and if there was a way to moderate it then yeah I'd love to have this for my SSP but I don't want people using this "cheat" on my SMP server. Granted we might have different opinions of what is fun and what is cheating, so lets agree to disagree.
I ask you to consider what you're doing to the SMP community. More than once I have found random tunnels with small pockets dug out of them where I assume ore used to be. This mod has destroyed a large part of many server's challenge balance and to those who have it, their economy.
A server I played on had its economy system completely destroyed because of a user who was found to be using this mod. He would mine diamonds gold and Lapis and sell them for really cheap to people. Well as you can guess this brought the price of these items down effectively bankrupting miners who relied on the funds from selling their finds.
I would ask that you keep updating this for SSP but disable its use in SMP. As of right now there is no efficient way to detect if a user is using mods. The only way the admins/mods(myself) were able to find that the aforementioned user was using this was to follow his movements and watch how he mined straight to the ore in the ground. As a fellow player I would ask that you do not allow users to keep cheating in SMP. Its ruining the spirit of the game.
Is it the mod author's fault people abuse the mod? Really?
On the server I play on, this mod sees wide, sanctioned usage, because it lets us spend less time grinding for ores and more time building cool ****, without having to bug the admins to spawn us stuff. If you want to run a purist server, run a whitelist or something, you take your chances anytime you let an unknown person on. Don't ask him to ruin it for us because of WAAH MY ECONOMIES WAAH.
Don't need to be offensive, just trying to have a nice calm discussion about this.
Probably because the fan base is mostly consisted of shooter fans who have no patience for strategy.
Granted this may seem true ,but in the future you might want to word this differently. It sounds fairly insulting to shooter fans. Now since I'm nice I'm not going to go off on how much strategy there is involved in a decent team game (notice I said decent). So you might want to rephrase sentences like that in the future.
I played Wars and I have to say it wasn't that good as an RTS. It certainly had the potential but they just didn't pull through. I've played numerous RTS games and I thought it had minimal strategy, at best. The armies were too imbalanced and the heroes were, for the most part, either useless or overpowered. The purifier beam was what turned me off to the game. You shouldn't have to be the UNSC to counter a totally overpowered move like that. And the MAC cannon was again, overpowered. Where the brute ability suffered from not enoguh power tand the arbiter could be easily take down by a few air units. The Cryo bomb was useless because it froze your own units as well and the carpet bombing was really only good against tightly packed units (which any RTS player who knows "his stuff" will space out their units).
But then again, I'm coming from a Warcraft 3 and SC1 & 2 background. Where you have all total about 50-70 upgrades and units per army.
All in all, IMO the game was way to simplistic. You had a minimal amount of upgrades, troops and you couldn't space out your base at all. Ensemble had a chance to make the game amazing and they blew it.

Why I want to join: Well I just posted an ad for my server but I realized that I couldn't port forward on my new $5 sale special router so I'm looking for a server to join and this one looked good since its just starting.
What other servers Ive been on: Alot of them but none have "met my standards". They either have overbearing and unrealistic rules or childish admins. Or an incredible amount of game breaking mods that instead of adding to the game they make it easier.

Use an X-ray mod to see just how many caves there are in MC.
