It's not a mod, i just turned up the brightness and contrast in sony vegas so you could actually see. But in the singleplayer commands mod there is a command that makes it constantly light even at night.
Ideas so far:
There are 4 teams/ areas players enter the arena: Red, Green, Yellow, Blue
Each side will have a different colored banner or flag.
There are four different "classes" that players will be able to choose from after depositing their belongings in to the designated chests:
Offense (Iron sword, Leather armor, 5 apples)
Defense (Wood sword, Iron armor, 8 apples)
Ranged (Bow, 64 arrows, Leather armor, 5 apples)
Smoke Jumper (1 flint & tinder, Leather armor, 5 apples)
Referee (Full diamond, Plenty of golden apples [I'll choose who is the ref, most likely a moderator will be unless otherwise trusted])
Once every 2 weeks (or so) I'll try to arrange a formal tournament. Hopefully there will be enough people that can fill the positions, because of course some contestants may not be on at the time of the tournament.
Everything in the arena will be non-protected other than the arena itself, of course. Players will be able to dig down in to the ground, to a certain extent (I may add a digging class later).
The seating will be all around the arena to allow spectators to get a clear view. The seating areas will be non-pvp zones to protect innocent bystanders.
This is a BIG project. I will need the help of anyone that would like to, that means giving people certain tasks like: Gathering materials and setting up the arena.
Update 2/22/11: I've drawn a partially mapped out sketch of a top view of the arena. The lightly shaded areas are the seating FYI.
Update 2/24/11: Here's a more or less detailed drawing of what i want the design to look like. The second picture is of the interior. I plan on making a spotlight effect to come down from the ceiling and shine on the battlefield :smile.gif:
EDIT: Also I've found a place to build, for some reason all of the blocks are unbreakable... so i may have to find somewhere else.
EDIT EDIT: I now have a chest full of stacks of 64 smooth stone, thanks everyone who contributed!
if only there was an easier way of switching between official and alt-blocks...

I think I've said this in all my posts on the thread, but seriously, BEST.PACK.EVER, the only thing that needs a slight tweaking imo is the grass, I don't know how to explain it but... putting some kinda "border" on it, so it's easier to tell where a block ends and the next one begins, it's certainly important when looking down and deciding wether or not the fall is gonna be nothing, hurt a little, fracture a bone or two, or downright kill you
Thats what the black outline when you mouse over blocks is for... i downright love that the blocks mesh together to give it a more natural look

Sadly no, i was pretty sure some one would've posted about it earlier if it was an actual feature so i didn't bother taking a picture so i wouldn't get flamed for the hundredth time. It might also be from my texture pack, although the squids are usually black for me... I'll look for more of em
