    Well this is ultimately a building game. Get resource networks such as villages, forests, and mines together than build what you want to build.

    Sorry for the late reply, but yes that is sound advice. Then you will be able to directly import and call it through your IDE.

    I got it to work doing this: https://github.com/GargatheOro/GargatheOro/blob/master/TESTEVENT.java

    Just add another if statement checking if the mined block is the block you want. Also, vanilla items are not in ItemInit, they are in Items. Blocks are in Blocks, which I reflected in the changed code to give you context. As far as the registry stuff, I found it overcomplicated so I put these two lines in my preInit method in the main class:

    CustomEvent eventCustom = new CustomEvent();
    MinecraftForge.EVENT_BUS.register(eventCustom);

    The reason it doesn't use @SubscribeEvent is because the event is being registered under something else which has @SubscribeEvent.

    Alright, please try and figure it out yourself and watch the video, but I wrote and attached code. I annotated the heck out of it so if you use it, and it works and you can copy-paste, then read the comments so you know how it works.

    So let's look at some code:

    (THIS CODE WILL NOT COMPILE, IT IS JUST AN EXAMPLE TO SEE THE GENERAL STRUCTURE)

    @SubscribeEvent

    public void onMineEvent(MineEvent event){

    if(HELD PICKAXE != PROPER PICKAXE){

    // CANCELS THE MINING PROCESS
    event.setCanceled(true);
    //ENDS THE CODE
    return;

    }

    }

    So I didn't watch it, but this seems helpful and relevant:

    You have to make an addon which will override onMine events to certain blocks. Make an if statement that checks if the player is using the correct tool, and let it proceed if so. If not, cancel the onMine event.

    posted a message on general question regarding modding a public server

    Players will need to download any mods. Plugins are hosted server-side only. Texture packs, you have the option to push a texture pack as an automatic download when you are configuring your server.

    Yes you can, for modding. Essentially, make two blocks, then make an event that triggers when the first block is placed that will despawn the block and spawn in the second block. For the second block, make an event that triggers when the player touches the block which will then execute a teleport command. Make a configuration system that allows an admin to insert coordinates for spawn. Then link those coordinates to the teleport command.

    posted a message on Trying to decide which version to make my mod for (Newbie)

    1.12.2 is probably the recommended version. I would say 1.7.10 but it's broken rn.

    I got the exact same thing. 1.7.10 no longer works I believe. I have come to the conclusion one of the downloads no longer works. Time to upgrade ;(

    posted a message on Alignment System

    I want to create a system that assigns a data value (1-9) each representing one of the Dungeons and Dragons alignments, like Lawful Good and Chaotic Evil. I was looking at capabilities maybe but there has got to be a simpler way to do this. Essentially at the beginning players will right-click an item and choose their alignment. Some things will change this (interacting with cursed items and such) or use it to check for things (if they are holding a good sword as an evil person, it will deal damage to them until they drop it). Each player would have their own alignment.

    How do I do this? If capabilities, can someone tell me a good tutorial for something similar, as capabilities, documentation, and some other tutorials out there are confusing as heck? Thank you.

    posted a message on EclipseCraft Hub Server Seeking Staff

    Welcome to EclipseCraft, a hub server that will feature many gamemodes. When we kick off in less than a month, we will begin with Skyblock and SkyGrid. As activity increases, we will increase the amount of gamemodes available. Not sure what those gamemodes are?

    Skyblock: You will start out on a small island with just a tree and a chest of minimal resources. Using all of that efficiently, you will expand your island until it is desirable. Many other minor plugins will be added to enhance gameplay.

    SkyGrid: This is a world where blocks are scattered in even grids, with space between them and a long fall to the void if your parkour goes awry. You will mine these resources in an attempt to survive.

    Note: ALL APPLICANTS MUST JOIN OUR DISCORD SERVER, WHICH CAN BE JOINED USING THIS LINK. THE STAFF APPLICATION WILL BE IN THE DISCORD SERVER. https://discord.gg/q7e9DUM

    posted a message on Terrapolitica - New Minecraft Server Idea Looking for Staff

    I am creating a new server that will be mainly government and nation roleplay. People will take the roles of citizens of nations, which shall manage their relations with each other, their own economies, public policy, construction/development, and more!

    Before this becomes publically available, I need some staff. I need the following staff positions filled:

    (1-2) Administrator - Will be responsible for helping me develop the idea into a server and boosting it to a community. Must have some sort of experience.

    (1) Builder - As nations will be creating their own projects, we only need one builder to do some projects such as the spawn and other things that may come up in the future. Experience is preferred, but not required.

    (1-2) Developer - I will need some plugins either updated or custom created. A texture pack will also need to be made for some of our features, and developers will also help people troubleshoot any errors with downloading mods, if we decide to use mods.

    We will also need people interested in becoming mods eventually. I will not be hiring mods at the moment, but feel free to stick around if you want. Any other person interested in the project, but not in becoming staff can also join our Discord server: https://discord.gg/rpJc7Cn

    To become staff, you must join the Discord server and post an application on the relevant channel.

    Disclaimer: All staff positions will be on a volunteer basis; no monetary compensation will be awarded, though I will give some goodies once the server is up and running.

    posted a message on Draxis City RP - Need Staff

    I am wanting to create a modded realistic modern city roleplay server. I cannot do that however without the help of other people. I need the following staff (requirements below each position):

      1. (1) Administrators - Managing other staff and running server operations. Helps hire moderators when we get to that point.
        1. Moderation experience
        2. Some other non-MC related leadership experience

      1. (1-3) Developers - Help make the mod pack and develop mods for missing features we need (such as a system of arresting people). One of the developers will also design our server website.
        1. Knowledge of 1.7.10 modding and/or Java knowledge

      1. (2) Architects - The main city planners and they build the buildings themselves
        1. WorldEdit knowledge

      1. (2) Decorators - Interior design and making things look pretty
        1. No requirements

      1. (1) Landscaper - Exterior design and terrain making
        1. WorldEdit + WE Brushes knowledge

    Interested in applying? Join this server, then post in chat which position you want: https://discord.gg/jm4gtM8

    I am not paying anyone. This would be a great opportunity to get a chance at easy staff to build your portfolio or to have fun.
