Preferences: I like to run off some distance from the spawn point and build my home somewhere distant. I also like having a shop or smithy in the spawn town where I can sell my wares. Perhaps a cafe. I don't talk much, but I enjoy active realms with contant pleasant conversation.
About me: Most of last year I would join new realms but something stopped me from playing for a while, and by the time I got back I'm no longer on those realms. Once it was a long trip to the hospital, the second time was because my PC needed some repairs. If I don't log in for a while, assume something is stopping me. If I just wanted to stop playing Minecraft for a while, I will tell people rather than just disappearing.
What you like to do in Minercraft/Realms? I like to wander off far from the general community, build a home next to a river. I'd have a stall in town that I might stock with stuff every once in a while. I like being in a realm with an active community, even if I don't talk much.

Mentioning the Java servers was just an example, to find the right thread on the website.
I'm guessing then I would be browsing the multiplayer thread under the section simply called "Minecraft" in the forum for servers to join?
