ah not a good alternative to nei then :( recipies was the main purpose of nei for us ..damn

There is also the Recipe Book mod, which is nice and kind of realistic in the game.

Why would you develop your mod using the latest (and possibly unstable) build of Forge, rather than the recommended, which most users will be running? That seems a bit weird to me.

    Try the following:
    • Select the Forge profile
    • Check JVM Arguments
    • Add this
      -Dfml.ignoreInvalidMinecraftCertificates=true -Dfml.ignorePatchDiscrepancies=true
    • Start the game
    • Tell me if it worked

So this freaked me out by giving me a pretty long blackscreen, but then Minecraft loaded and Forge and Optifine seemed to get along just fine. Watching the log nearly gave me a heart attack though.

Ugh, I built my house in a forest biome just below some massive mountains, and they spawn up in the snow and come down at night to terrorize my livestock (and myself). I think they can spawn just about anywhere though.

I was feeling so lucky for having gone a whole game week without any showing up.

posted a message on Paintings keep disappearing!
I didn't have any issues with paintings after the last update, until I closed the game and came back to it. My paintings have apparently disappeared but the game acts as if they're on the wall still when I try to place a new one. However, when I hit where the painting should be, it acts like I'm hitting the wall block behind.

I'm using that OS and having this problem too. When I had xp, it wasn't like this

Me too. This program has been more trouble than I think its worth, and since I'm running java 6 there shouldn't be any issues.

So this map has its own texture pack, right? Will it affect gameplay to use a different post-apocalyptic texture pack? I mean, are any of the retextured blocks important to the story or anything?

You could contact the creators of the mods about possibly adding support though.

Wow. Your Eldainon map looks very nice. Is there a download link? Me and a few friends are planning out a very large adventure map, and I think your map would work fantastically.

Yeah, I would love to play on these maps as well, they look wonderful for fantasy city-building!

You change your players skin by uploading a skin file to your profile on www.minecraft.net
You can download a template from there too if you want to make your own, or download one someone else made from websites like the skindex, or in the skins section on this forum :)

You may also need to change the char.png in whatever texture pack you're using.

As for suggestions, some mods to look at compatibility with would be ExtraBiomesXL and Trees++.
    But mostly ExtraBiomesXL!
    ^_^
And I'm loving Unmined so far! It just gets better every version.

Looks really nice so far! I assume you already have these planned, but here's my suggestions:
    • Save settings per-map, and remember last opened world path
    • Make dirt (or add an option to make dirt) always brown instead of green
    • When exporting as PNG, add an option to make the chunkless areas transparent instead of a white and gray grid
And I have no idea of this is the fault of my map or Unmined, but when I export as PNG, the image is twice as tall as it needs to be; the top half is entirely blank and the bottom half is the map itself. It's easy enough to fix in Photoshop though.

I hadn't even noticed the grid thing. I think its just a glitch, since generally that checkerboard is representative of transparent areas when editing an image in a program, and this program is basically generating an image from save data.

As for the brown thing, idk how that would work since high-elevation areas of the map look darker as the elevation increases. I have grassy mountains that are brown on some of my maps, and changing the dirt color would confuse that a lot.

    Still waiting

The update will be done when its done. There's no reason to be rude about it, he doesn't even have to update it. It's very kind of him to attempt to do so, so leave him be.

posted a message on Sonic Ether's Unbelievable Shaders [compatible with Minecraft 1.12.2 via OptiFine]
Hmmm... So I installed this as per instruction and saw no difference in the graphic quality of the game. Maybe the shadows are slightly smoother, but I'm not getting anything nearly as dramatic or saturated as a lot of the screenshots I've seen which almost look like HDR. Clearly this IS compatible with Intel tech, but maybe just not mine? I can't find anything to say either way, but I assume the game would just crash if the shaders were incompatible with my graphics.

Operating System: MS Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit SP1
    CPU: Intel Core i5 450M
    RAM: 4.00 GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 532MHz (7-7-7-20)
    Motherboard: Dell Inc. 029DYC (U2E1)
Graphics: Generic PnP Monitor ([email protected]), Intel(R) HD Graphics

All drivers up to date. I also use GameBooster 3.0 to free up the computer for games, if that could have any effect. Also, sorry if this got answered somewhere in the topic, but 358 pages is a lot to wade through and this site's search feature is worthless.
