posted a message on Reroll a map.
    Quote from Candii666»

I've been playing on ps4 for a while. and all my maps have been used. and with the recent update I dont get any of the new content on my world.

So I was thinking it would be nice. if We could have a way to reroll one complete map on our world with each new actual patch. (1 per patch when it brings new biomes etc etc)

Because it truly sucks having to start a new world just to get new stuff.

I have a similar thread up on the xbox one section of the forum:

    http://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/minecraft-xbox-one-edition/mcxone-discussion/mcxone-suggestions/2632083-ideas-to-reset-portions-of-an-already-explored

4J! The demand is there! Please make this happen!

Not sure if this is related, but the game used to play both creative mode and survival tracks. Now (after whichever update), if you're in creative and switch over to survival (or at least to a survival save), the creative mode track will keep playing until the track ends, then switch to the survival playlist. I kinda miss the creative mode tracks (I have a creative mode save that I rarely use - mostly to plan things out).

posted a message on Ideas to reset portions of an already explored world (Xbox One/PS4)

Pretty much yes. I've tried both the edge smoothing option and just letting it do it's thing and it still looks weird. I probably wouldn't use such an option to try and fix my worlds though because most of them are years old and I've built way too much stuff to go and wipe it out.

Still, I think it's a small price to pay. My world is "extreme hills" heavy, and looks kinda weird anyway. If you were to reset a corner map, there would only be two awkward borders.

That is an excellent point. I never did transfer an Xbox 360 save to my Xbox One. Does the edge of a transferred Xbox 360 spawn map look jacked up with half-mountains and cut-off rivers?

(edit: meant to quote Urban_Blackbear, whoops)

Huh. Well, that certainly is a problem. I kinda figured the chunks generated BASED on abutting chunks. Like, the half-mountain would continue and maybe grow higher or taper down. Dang. I'm dying to have an ocean monument in my world (without having to go into creative and make one). I was hoping resetting one of my ocean maps would likely grow one.

I dunno. Maybe half-mountains (etc...) are a small price to pay?

    Attention Padware @ 4J:

Many of us (more OCD inclined) have already uncovered every “chunk” of our world and are dedicated to only one game save. This means that we won’t get to see a lot of new biomes, flora, fauna and naturally generated structures. So, I figured I’d start a thread where people can post ideas for resetting portions of their world. Here are a few ideas (that would hopefully be easy for 4j to pull off, programing-wise):

    Anyone else have any ideas?

posted a message on Xbox One multiple strongholds?

Apologies if this has already been addressed; I couldn't find it. The Wiki says that console edition only has one stronghold, but that could have been written back when MC was only one 360/PS3. Can someone confirm or deny? I went 120 degrees from my End portal, starting from my spawn point (the stronghold equilateral triangle blah blah blah) and dug where I'm pretty sure it would be, but had no luck. I was also working off a cellphone pic of my world map (not perfectly flat), so I can't help but wonder if my trajectory is off.

Anyone know 100% for certain Xbox One only has one stronghold?

I've also had this problem. You start burning for no reason, go back to see an unusually bright spot, punch at it, and an invisible fire extinguishes. (in the Nether, of course)

Probably related, I have an entire wall of maps blinking back and forth, occasionally showing the correct map, then blinking to basically what PCK46 has posted. It's a mess.

posted a message on Update a old World. Suggesting...

The ability to reset maps (and by maps, I mean 1000 x 1000 portions of your world) would be awesome. I've put a ridiculous amount of time and work into my save. I KNEW I should've left areas of it unexplored, but I wanted to find all my villages (and build roads to them).

posted a message on Reset maps on Console Edition?

Well, on the the PS4 and XBox One Console Editions, the world is set up as a 5 map x 5 map grid (25 maps total). Each map is 1000 x 1000 blocks. Now, sure, you can't divide a 1000 x 1000 map into 16 x 16 chunks evenly, but so what? I refuse to believe erasing a 1000 x 1000 area from a game and letting it reload as (hopefully something else) is something that can't POSSIBLY be done. The game already has a "reset Nether" option, just in case you started your game before Nether Fortresses were a thing. Two completely different mechanics, sure, but my point is that they clearly don't want us to miss out on "new" content.

posted a message on Reset maps on Console Edition?

Sorry if someone has already suggested this, but I've explored all 25 maps on my game save (Xbox One, survival mode), but now I won't be able to get canyons/ocean monuments to load. Obviously I could start a new world, but I've put an insane amount of work (and time) into this save.

The ability to reset certain maps that I haven't really worked on would be the greatest thing since sliced bread.
