We like Banners right? They look great and literally have over a quadrillion possibilities for decoration. So... how about over 750 times as many options? My idea is an Item Print, which let you put a print of an item onto the banner in any of 3 locations, the top, center, or bottom of the banner. Anything that has an icon in your inventory can be used, meaning you can use blocks or items, including items only obtainable with /give.
If you combine any item with an Item Frame you will make an Item Print of that item. Keep in mind that you KEEP the items you are printing, but lose the Item Frame, similar to how you keep a Bucket when making a cake. No wasting a Diamond simply on a neat Banner.
Because you must use a Loom to make a Banner, this means the Loom GUI needs to be adjusted to accommodate these new items:
As you can see, the input slots for the Loom now has 3 item slots instead of 1. It functions pretty much the same as it used to, you put in your Banner, your Dye, and a Banner Pattern and you can make colored layers. Where it gets different is if you put in an Item Print. When you put an Item Print into the Top, Middle, or Bottom item slots, an image of that item will appear on the Banner. You can do up to 3 items per Banner layer, however most items will overlap if you try to do all three at once.
Because the box for picking Patterns isn't used when placing Item Prints, you can instead use it to modify each print. You will get 3 rows, one for each Item Print slot (if a Print is not in a slot, the associated row is greyed out). You have four options to modify the Item Print to make them a little more custom:
- Flip Horizontal
- Flip Vertical
- Rotate 90 Degrees Clockwise
- Rotate 90 Degrees Counterclockwise
Here are some examples of the possibilities (using items to indicate what the Item Print would be):
Now that is a swanky banner!
Place this above your weapons chest to find your gear easily.
If using a block, it uses the same block icon you see in the inventory.
That is pretty much all there is to the idea, but think of the possibilities! 3 slots to place Item Prints, at least 550 blocks and items that can be used and 64 additional ways of rotating and flipping each Item Print, means that instead of having 809 quadrillion combinations (809,573,616,779,945,488), we have 617 QUINTILLION (617,826,240,051,948,503,808). That is a lot of customization, and it doesn't even include the best part!
If you get a mob or player head with /give, putting that on a banner will give you their face texture on the Banner. Make Banners with Zombie heads on them, or find a player with a Herobrine skin, spawn their head, and make a Herobrine banner.
So, what do you think?

I have recently decided to try my hand at drawing some very simple cartoony Minecraft face avatar drawings. Right now, these are completely free! Just use the format below to make a request:
And that's it! Please note that I will only try to draw exactly as your skin's face looks. I can't draw based on nothing - I need the skin to know exactly how to make it. Check out the example in the spoiler of the one that I did for my own skin.
Also, please know that I don't really have too much experience with graphics. I will do my best to try to make the drawing as you want it, but if something doesn't look right or your skin is too difficult for me to handle, please try to understand.
Priority List
These drawings are completely free, but if you would like to bypass the wait list and get priority to have your drawing done next, you can choose to do so by making a small payment of $1.00 to put yourself first on the Wait List! I will also do my best to make sure that your drawing is done the same day that you send the payment. Payments are made via PayPal.

I have an idea for an intro that I will be using for YouTube, but I don't want it to be Minecraft related because I plan on doing other things as well, so I'd rather have it based on me and my interests. It will include a character that looks like my Minecraft skin, or for a drawn reference, like my avatar here. I can give more references if you are interested in working with me.
Here's my idea in full:
The screen starts black. In the center of the screen, a spotlight turns on and shines on the center of a stage. Standing in the center of the stage (revealed by the spotlight) is a guy who is holding a guitar and looks like my drawn avatar (see my Minecraft skin for more reference, or you can search "Angus Young." That's ultimately who this is based on). The guy turns a knob on the guitar, does a "rock" gesture with his hand, then powerfully strums the guitar once. From the strum he raises his hand and points outwards towards the viewer (this part will look something like the pose that my avatar is in). Then the animation fades out.
I can give more references or details if you are interested.
The amount that I pay is negotiable. I'll say for now that I am willing to pay $25 for this, but if it will cost more, let me know. I would like to see your past work prior to starting. If you are interested, I would also like to see progress on the animation before I pay in full, and also be able to work to get the animation how I envision it.
If anyone has any interest in this, you can email me or Skype me at [email protected] (Skype account is the same as my email address). Thanks.

Again, it's not that they aren't good, I just personally think that there are similar and better phones out there. I just wish people would actually take some time to check out other phones that are out there and actually see what other devices have to offer. You very likely might like a different phone than your beloved iPhone. However, if you check out other phones and really believe that the iPhone is the best choice for you, then go for it. I feel that too many people just blindly follow everyone else and get what everyone else has. And that's their only reason - it's a status symbol.
I use Android phones exclusively and they have so much variety. I'm no Samsung sheep or anything like that, I enjoy the amount of phones that you have to choose from, I first started with an HTC Desire a few years back, then went to a Galaxy S3, then an S4 (almost went with the HTC One M7), then a HTC One M8 (I really liked the LG G3 when it was announced, might've got that if I waited longer), and now I'm back to Samsung with the Note 4. There's always a new device to be had and new features to use, and I just feel that the iPhone is usually a bit behind on its main feature-set.
I want to reiterate though, I am not saying the iPhone is bad. The iPhone 6 build quality is excellent, and it arguably has the best camera for any smartphone on the market. Build quality is important to me, but if the only plus that the iPhone has over another phone is the build quality, then I am willing to sacrifice that for the other phone's features.
TL;DR - I don't think the iPhone is bad, but I do think that there are better options (depending on what you want in a phone).

The original suggestion in the original post is "way too OP." The alternative beacon suggestion, while I can see an argument for it being a bit OP, is not nearly as bad as having a potion that allows you to fly wherever you want for over 2 minutes. joonatan1998's post pretty much covers my view on it.
Let me make my position on this clearer - I am really not a huge fan of flying in vanilla in any way. However, I feel like if flying was something that was to be implemented, this would not be a bad way to do it. For me, it's more of a "If it's added, great. If not, that's fine too" kind of thing. I personally don't use beacons very much at all, but I don't think this would be a game-breaker for those who do.
