    I really like the idea of complicated pipes, and had fun trying to make specialized builds that broke down a specific item. I was never very successful. I remember messing around a lot with the pipe "sleeves" that reverse suction - I feel like I never understood really what those were doing. In TC5 I just went straight for the transfusers (? flying essentia) for convenience.


    That's just my experience, I don't know the right answer. If complex pipes were still in TC6 I would enjoy re-learning - and hopefully mastering them. If not, that makes sense to me too.

    posted a message on Electroblob's Wizardry - The expandable RPG magic mod [Minecraft 1.7.10, 1.10.2, 1.11.2, 1.12.2]

    I spawned close to a wizard tower and decided to pop over after a few days to trade. However the resident wizard attacked me on sight, unprovoked.


    Are there certain wizards who won't trade with you? Or did I do something to offend him (decided to come in through a wall before I found the door).


    Playing on v2.1.2 for 1.10.2 - love the concept can't wait to get further into the mod!

    a good guide is to look through azanor's posts - sometime in the last 1 and 1/2 years there was a lot of posts on lore with him participating. people were trying to work out the "metaphysics" of thaumcraft

    someone posted a theory (many pages ago) that TC5 actually takes place before TC4. the bluish-purple totems you find in TC4 are long-abandoned node-attractors like the kind you can build in TC5

    Azanor mentioned on the podcast interview that he was going to take a look at 1.11.2 and see if it would be a huge lift to update straight to that version. I wonder....

    I have been following this tutorial - having issues because I think I have the wrong Java installed. But it's very much a "cookbook" approach. Just put your head down and follow the instructions:

    I can't confirm this personally but my sense / hope is that basic changes like adding items, etc isn't impossible for a novice to do. But I'd be happily disabused of that

    Re: "if I could" - I was listening to more episodes of "Behind the Mod" and was surprised to learn that some folks just use Minecraft modding as a tutorial for Java. I do lizard-brain scripting for work and I can't learn anything from tutorials or documentation. Best way to learn is to have a concrete thing you're trying to get done. So who knows, maybe you could pick it up by yourself.

    I think a TC add-on revolving around a new material and a crafting mechanic linked to the phases of the moon would be really, really cool.

    I think the joke is that if you "knew" Azanor, it wouldn't be surprising that he doesn't play much MC / wasn't aware of packs using TC. Not that you don't know literally that Azanor makes TC

This means that any flux outside of your build in chunks cannot drop through taint spread, allowing it to be used for stuff like crystal growth and not having random taint spread in general.

    there are lots of ways you can "tame" biomes - lighting, building roads, clearing brush, etc. it would be really neat if wisps started getting more aggressive in response to deforestation, or calmed by planting flowers. having other things you need to do to make an area safe [not a real suggestion, just interesting idea]

    you can confirm by reviewing the author's posts but an early alpha is available w/ limited distribution. the actual TC content at this point is minimal, but as I understand it the bones of the game in how it talks with Forge are complete.
