I have 15 letters in my name, and it doesn't do that to me.
I wonder why...
You can see your own skin (Inventory screen, hand, etc) but other players can't.

This is getting very annoying, this bug tracker is proving to be a bit of a pain not an enhancement

1. Go to imgur.
2. Put the screenshot on your desktop area or anywhere that's easy to find.
3. Click upload from computer or something like that, on the webpage of course.
4. Select the screenshot, click open.
5. Click upload.
6. Upon finishing the upload, click the picture so it's enlargened.
7. Copy and paste the URL into the insert image tool on the forums.
I find it highly likely that you're trolling.

Can I have the link for that? I've been looking for a mod like that
Anyway, for a thing to do in singleplayer....
1. Install mods.
2. Download an adventure map or two. I recommend the super hostile series by vechs if you want a challenge.
3. Make your own town/village/city and populate it with villagers.
4. Try and make a bukkit server, then ragequit after many hopeless hours (I do it often, it really kills time!)

Nah. The PC version should be unique.

We can't fix it, there's no point in trying. It happens to everyone. You probably have very slow internet, that's what's causing it. It can't be 'fixed', only reduced. It's not a bug, it's part of gaming. I can't believe so many people don't know about it, there's always a douche saying "HE'S FLYING!!!" and it's really just someone sprint jumping.
Get. Over. It.

The tutorial is optional! This will not be a community decision because of this reason
Imagine you just force updated after making the stupid mistake of installing not enough items with too many items. As you load up the game you're forced into the tutorial. After the modding incident, you are particularly impatient and angry, so you throw your PC/laptop onto the floor in a rage, so now you don't even have a computer.
Also, the tutorial is an option because some newbies want to discover things for themselves at their own risk (Which means we'll still get those hilarious n00bs who go on the discussion forums saying "ZOMG GREN THING CHAZD ME INTO HOUSHE AND BLEW ME UPS!1!1!!!"). The reason for the bonus chest option being replaced is because some people think it's too easy. I decided that it would be best for the newbs to keep their gear they obtained in the tutorial (If they want).
The tutorial would be a floating island, perhaps an inversion to the end, with a blue or pink sky with many animals and flowers. Perhaps a villager or human with dialogue could show you all the basics, or maybe a written book. It would be nice for some music to be playing in the background too, perhaps the famous "Where are we now" music track that unfortunately wasn't added due to problems with the disc's name.
After the player is shown the basics of the game, the player would be shown the game's monsters, such as creepers and zombies (Maybe even having to fight them afterwards).
Here's a picture of a cave starting area.
The villager would speak to you, tell you to open a chest, make some stuff etc. When you're done with him, a piston door will open and lead you to another area, where you will punch a tree and perhaps fight a weak zombie.
Here's the overworld meadow starting area:
The villager will teach you some things, after that the gravel would fall away and a zombie would come in, which you would fight, then move on into the tunnel, which leads you to another area.
Here's a picture of the end inversion tutorial:
Also, a log book feature would work like how hurdofchris has desribed:
I have this interesting idea for a tutorial mechanic. If the player has a sort of "Log Book" that is accessed by a key press, it would make for a good tutorial and information library as the player gets deeper into the game.
Here's an example of how it would work:
The player starts off in a regular world. Only instead of seeing "Press E to open inventory" as the first achievement hint, they would see "Press Z to open Log Book" (or whatever key would be best). The log book could contain the instructions for basic movement and functionality such as sprinting, opening the inventory, etc. The first time the player hits a tree, a log book "hint" (perhaps showing the player's thought process) shows up saying This wood seems very weak. Maybe I can break it. Once the player breaks it, a log book entry will show up:
Logs
Mining
with bare hands : xx seconds (xx showing how many seconds it takes)
After viewing this entry in their log book, perhaps another hint such as There has to be a faster/better way to do this. will show up. If they go into their inventory and hover over the wood, another hint such asI wonder if I can make something with this. will appear. If they figure out how to make planks the log book will show a new entry:
Logs
Mining
with bare hands : xx seconds
Planks
How to craft : [Insert graphic of crafting recipe]
Later in the game, they start digging out gravel and find a piece of flint after a few tries:
Gravel
Mining
with bare hands : xx seconds
with shovel : xx seconds , 1 use, xx% chance of dropping flint
Flint
xx% chance of being dropped when mining gravel with a shovel
That percentage could be the actual percentage seen by the player thus far or it could be the programmedpercentage for drop chance.
Of course, this log book is going to get a bit crowded over time by mining statistics, crafting recipes, brewing recipes, enchantment statistics, etc. This is why there should be some organization to it. I won't get into too much detail because this is still just a suggestion.
I feel as though little "whispered hints" and log book entries will eliminate the need to use the wiki or something else outside the game to learn the game. There are many clever ways to point the player in the right direction without giving them a dead giveaway, because the original appeal of Minecraft was finding out how to create things (hence the Secret Updates that were originally being put in). Of course, if you want to spoil the game for yourself you could look up the new features on the internet, but this system provides a way to discover it for yourself and make the new features more exciting. Tell me what you think.
Any thoughts on this?

2. Large, 900
3. 7 wool blocks
4. Difficulty: 3
5. As you can see by the name, the map would have massive mountains that get up to the maximum map height. Perhaps there could be themed mountains, like a volcanic one, a snowy one and an aquatic one, with many waterfalls.
Good luck with these maps!

Where we are at now.
Another picture.
I'll keep updating the topic with progress, though it might take only an hour to make. Feedback is appreciated!
