posted a message on [Unsolved][Forge]Making mod for SMP - going further
Post-1.3.x, everything is basically SMP, all of the time, because of integrated servers. Yep, even in SSP (thanks Mojang, for that massive kludge)

World generation and biomes is handled pretty much by Forge as is if I remember correctly though.
    http://www.minecraftforge.net/wiki/Adding_World_Generation

New biomes is done by extending BiomeGenBase I think.
    GameRegistry.addBiome(...) and etc.

World types are also covered by Forge:
    http://www.minecraftforge.net/wiki/WorldType

    Random structure generation (video)

Some more general stuff about migrating over to 1.3.x
    http://www.minecraftforge.net/wiki/Tutorials/Upgrading_To_Forge_for_1.3.1

I'm not overly convinced by your description that you really need to do custom net-code though. I might be wrong, I haven't really done all that much World Gen stuff. But I have done my fair share of minecraft net-coding, and if you can; avoid it and use what is already provided by the APIs. Always look for what may already have be done before even trying to reinvent the wheel, especially this particular wheel, because it hooks up to a drive shaft made of various kitchen utensils duct-taped together.

    Happy hacking!

I need help, every time I get hit with an arrow shot from a dispenser, Minecraft crashes. I need help!! here is my report:

    ...

    java.lang.NullPointerException
    at xp.a(SourceFile:59)
    at qz.j_(SourceFile:273)

    ...

Thank you if any one can help me, please reply saying that you did it.

    qz.j_() is EntityArrow.onUpdate()
    xp.a() is EnchantmentThorns.func_92044_a()

The problem is probably the first argument being NULL, because a NULL pointer exception is normally only thrown when attempting to treat a NULL variable as an object (calling it's members, etc) or as an array. It fails at EnchantmentThorns.func_92044_a(), which indicates the failure is happening there and not deeper in the stack, and it is only the first argument that is being called upon directly in that method and which is not null checked in advance.

First argument is EntityArrow.shootingEntity from onUpdate.

Might be wrong. But that's where I would start by looking at the stack trace alone.

What is causing this; is up to you to find out.
    Happy debugging. :)

What is a difference beetwen Server and "normal" version?

Depends on what version of the mod you're after.

1.6 for 1.3.2 and older: No difference, same zips
EDIT: I mean "and newer", of course.

The server section is kept in there to allow people to grab older versions.
And the current versions are also kept in the server section to avoid confusion.

hey, do you know when you're going to be updating the addons for the mod?

    Remote is already updated.
Rest will follow, power configurator next most likely. TBA.

    C:\Users\xxx\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\bin\version.

Please make sure you have a working copy od minecraft installed and that you have write permission to the listed files and folders.

    What is it?

I'm not have "version" file in ./minecraft/bin ..

Everyone has a version file in ./minecraft/bin. It's how minecraft knows it needs to update.

    All done.

You can get v1.6.1 for Minecraft 1.4.6 from the Installer or get the zips as usual from the following links:
    Wireless Redstone
    Wireless Remote

Let me know if it breaks and I'll try to get it sorted as soon as I am able. :)
There should not be anything game-breaking though, but it's always a good idea to have backups just in case.

    2) Can I use your mod in my mod pack?? Obviously I will put your name on credits :)
    Thank

    1) Me too. If not; send all your angry messages to Eury. >_>
Joking of course. Put it all here and, as always, we'll try our best to get it sorted ASAP. :)

    2) Yerp.

It's more or less ready for shipping.
The 1.4.6 release (v1.6.1) will include an improved logger, some boring improvements to the API, multi-world support (going to nether no longer breaks it) and the sexy new and improved Wireless Remote (thanks to Eury <333).

I will release it tomorrow. I'm on my laptop atm and forgot some files at home on my desktop. Herp-derp. The files in question are for a little surprise we've cooked up. No spoilers, hopefully someone will figure it out after we've brought in the new year. ;)

Sorry about the long wait. Christmas time is a bit hectic.

Isn't this already possible with Command Blocks? I thought you can send signals with command blocks wirelessly. I swore I heard someone say that somewhere.

Not that I am aware of.

Guys, do you want to moderators to lock this thread because of constant update requests? They did it before to others and they can do this here. Let Ali have some peace and he'll release an update when...or if...he does.

Psht, it's fine. You're exaggerating the issue.
