I would much prefer to see this project released open source to the wind so that the community actually is on the winning side instead of a mod constantly left in limbo.

This paragraph made me laugh pretty hard. And by laugh, I mean on the inside with a stone face obviously. It is the internet after all.

You do realize this project has been open source since day one, right? And I do not see you, or anyone else, picking up the sword. Do you know why? Because of posts like yours.

Who is handling the license stuff of the 1.5+ versions?
I would like to implement the Redstone Core and Remote in my private modpack.
    Thanks.

    SlimeVoid holds the license.
And the license is the GNU LGPL, so you do not need permission to use it in a modpack.

Everyone's begging for this mod to be updated to 1.5.2, but as a modder I know how hard it is to keep up with Mojang's constant updates, but there's about 2 or 3 ways to do wireless redstone without mods. Command blocks, glass pane/iron bars hitbox update, etc, etc.

It's been out for 1.5.2 for weeks if not months.
SlimeVoid is managing it, so that's the place to look.
And we're all aware that there are alternative methods. That's not really the point. The point is that this mod is designed specifically to do wireless redstone, easily, reliably and instantly. Nobody benefits from a monopoly on a solution.
Personally; I would wish Mojang would do something better than command blocks (lets face it; they are kinda terrible) and glitch exploit glass panes. But... you know... if wishes were fishes; we'd be able to walk on the sea. :P

The opensource code from Slimevoid compiles without a single error for forge 7.7.1-662 btw: Here is a link to the compiled jar that runs on 1.5.1 without problems
    http://minecraft.iro...one-1.7.0-3.jar

PS: Check it on virustotal or yourself if you do not trust me.

Pro tip: Don't tell people to check it with a virus scanner if they don't trust you. It will make them not trust you off the bat. xD

    Hello,

I recently got banned from a server because apparently the admins thought I was duping the wireless trackers and placing them on people.

Can you try replicating a crash server by either:

    1. Using 1 in the frequenecy wireless tracker and placing multiples of the 1 frequency on peoples feet.

    2. Spawning or using ftb direwolf20 pack /home with trackers placed on you.

    Heres what apparently happened.

I was in spawn placing trackers on people and for some reason they were duplicating and caused someone to lag and eventually crash the server.Even after being dipped in lava tons of trackers came off.

    Please help.

Frequency wireless tracker? I dunno what that is.

Will there be a 1.5.1 release? Some people won't upgrade to 1.5.2 for the sake of other mods:/

I don't know. You'll have to ask the guys over at SlimeVoid.

ERROR: Problem getting access to minecraft resource

Please make sure you have a working copy bla bla bla,.....

It's because it can't access the version file. As it says; make sure you have a legal working copy.

    Heyho
    I have two little Problems.
I want to use your Wireless Redstone on a Frame construction and a frame motor from Red Power two mod.
But everytime i moved the Wireless Redstone block he lose the connection. I cant trigger the block anymore, i have to break the block and replace it.
The second prob is, i tried to fix the first prob by installing Wireless Redstone chicken bones edition, but i get the massege "Dublicate ID: Wireless Receiver". But its NOT the nomerous ID, i think its more the Name of the block which is dublicete.

Wireless Redstone does not deal well with it being moved. This is why moving it with the piston was disabled.
It's probably possible to make it deal with it, but it was never a priority.
If this is something people want; make a request with SlimeVoid.

It's near the top. Under download, in a spoiler tag under older releases.

You can also get v1.6 for Minecraft 1.2.5 via the installer, which is the easiest. It also has the stable version of Forge that was testet on.

Ah, well then all you need is the core mod. No need for the SMP client addon.
So just remove that and try reinstalling the core mod.
If it still won't work after that; post your log again and we'll try to figure it out from there. :)

I cant remember all that well. 1.2.5 is a long time ago.

But to play SMP back then you had to have WirelessRedstone + WirelessRedstone Client addon. Both of which needs to be for 1.2.5.
When you use Forge; you need to pick the 1.6 version.
If you already have this, then you could try putting it all into one zip. I remember there being some issues with loading order back in the day, but can't remember if it was sorted after 1.2.5 or not.

Nice mod. I used to use it, but at a certain point the Wireless blocks bugged my world and i had to delete them (was some longer time ago)

Now i discovered how to use the vanilla command block as wireless redstone. It's sure not as easy as this mod, but it's always up to date and works out of the box (no offense to your great mod) :P

I am really sorry to hear that.
You should totally give it another try though, a lot has happened in the past year. Amongst other things; it is now relatively compatible with LittleBlocks, which was your issue at the time if I'm not horribly mistaken?
Tiny wireless redstone blocks, it's adorable!

A non-updated site turns people like me away when we see there is no useful info on it.

Of course it does, marketing has that power on people, to turn them away or engage them more. That's the point.
What I am trying to say is that don't put too much weight on it.
Unless of course an updated site is super important to you, in which case I'll remind you that the wireless redstone site hasn't been updated since 2011. Has that affected the quality of the project or your opinion of it? I sincerely hope not...

I know what you mean but my experience is a good dev[of whatever aka not just mc mods] is capable of keeping their site up to date even if its a blurb every week ect. I personally have become weary of people, devs, projects that with or without forums cannot take the few minutes to post a update of their progress or whats going on or to change completely outdated info on on their website.

My basic issue with slime void atm is you cannot use their site to gauge what is going on and instead have to search for info on what they are doing.

A good developer is one that develops well. What this implies depends on the area of development and usually more importantly; what their customer wants. There is no such thing as one type of developer.

Regardless of that I have, from experience in the industry, never seen a developer put too much, if any, weight on updating content of the facade web site. That is normally something done by marketing. If a dev ever does this; then he/she has taken the role in marketing too.
The reason its rare is because a dev is normally flooded with way more important and prioritized tasks, like communicating within or cross teams/divisions, following up on the feedback loop with customers/project leaders, estimation, solution consulting, documentation (issue tracking, etc), training and doing the actual development tasks, and that's only mentioning a few.

I'm not sure what SlimeVoid uses their site for, but to me it looks like a marketing front. I could of course be mistaken.
Regardless of that, try to focus on what this is actually about; the project's survival. Whether or not their web site is updated is a trivial matter, at least it is to me.
I did not pick them to take over because they are really good at updating their web site, I picked them because I think they are the best option to continuing the project with the quality of service I and others have come to expect from it.
If you think that was a horrible decision; fine, I can live with that. But try to remember where we are, we're not exactly drowning in decent developers.
If you know of anyone else that can do it, and are willing to; then they are of course more than welcome to take it on as well. It's on a public license for a reason. If they do a better job than SlimeVoid => I'm happy. If they don't; whatever, SlimeVoid is still doing it => I'm happy. xD

.................. and thus I begin to see the reason people would be disappointed.

Good thing people haven't seen the Wireless Redstone website. It's wonky, unfinished and hasn't been updated for over a year. >_>

I am not going to speak for SlimeVoid, and it is understandable that people are worried. But remember that facade web sites are generally for marketing purposes. The "feedback loop" normally goes on behind the facade. On, for example, a forum thread. As close to the users as possible is the best, without making it... awkward. :P
Obviously if the SlimeVoid web site was updated more regularly it would spark more initial confidence in the team for people who are not familiar with it already. But updating it takes time, time which could be used for improving the service for the users, giving the feedback where it matters to them; on the threads and on the source repositories, not to mention development on the actual software. That and it is terribly easy to forget about the facade when you're head deep in other things. I hope people don't put too much weight on that, but rather on the services being provided. Personally I would be more worried if they spent most of their time updating the web site.

Even with all the annoyances that comes with change; remember the change is fairly small, Eury has been doing the vast majority of work on the mod since the Forge migration. And it is a bazillion times better than having the mod die. :D

TL;DR: Don't worry too much about the web site. Primary focus should be on the product, the mod, which I am sure the majority of you care the most about anyways. I know I do. :)

yea but new producers always leads to worse things.

We are aware change is difficult. That is why we have processes in place to make sure it happens gradually, and thus as painlessly as possible for our users and everyone else.

I'm fairly sure the most noticeable change will be the migration over to a new thread, which will happen gradually. How gradually only really depends on the user base and for how long they will stick around in the old one. It's not exactly a very active thread. It's been mostly for announcements, bug reports and people asking politely for updates with big colorful letters. (no, I don't mind, it's how I know people still use the mod, haha) So I do not expect it to take very long for the dust to settle.

You do not need to worry too much about the direction of development, Eury has been doing most of it for the past half++ year anyways. Like he said: if you've been happy with the project up until now; it is fairly likely you'll be happy with it for a while more. Unless you get horribly bored with it or someone comes up with something better of course. ;)
