Make sure that you aren't running any programs that could be stealing ram from your server. Do a scan of your server for malicious files and the like, as often they can cause this sort of mayhem.
Biggest thing: keep all plugins and bukkit up to date, using the recommended versions for everything (they are usually bug-free).
It may work, but through my own testing with nether portals, when you went back into the portal, it would activate the first you went through, sending yo back where you were instead of sending you to the other portal.

Roam freely across a giant world, meet new people and see things in minecraft that you would never see anywhere else. NOTE: This map has not been completed, but is being worked on fulltime by the Calliserver. The first release will come soon, including the first five towns and landscape that will keep you playing.

Police Headquarters, 2:00
The police chief rushed into the room, heading straight for his office. Another officer came into his office as soon as the chief had sat down.
"There's been another break in at the old warehouse chief." the officer said.
"We don't have time for that, Bill." replied the chief as he was picking up the phone. He dialed in the number from memory. "Hello officer. Switch all of the giant monitors over to CNN now."
On the screens were live camera shots of a giant crater downtown, where the tower had stood. The reporters didn't know what to make of it. Some said terrorists, another was interveiwing a man who said "Them aliens man, they did this you know man. The came down in their big UFO's and i was like whoa man, those are real UFO's man. they like picked up the entire tower man. They took it man."
The police chief came out into the main area. He raised his voice, "I want all units there now! I have orders from the president herself to, and i quote, " switching to a girly voice, " conduct a like huge investigation, like bigger than like any investigation ever."
Suddenly the room was filled with chatter as the officers on desk duty got to work, redirecting the patrol officers to the tower.
"And we have the FBI and CIA to back us up…" added the police chief as he noticed the panic in one of the officer's eyes. From there on out the office was just that much calmer.
Theoretically, if your cannon had enough TNT, you could fly almost infinitely. The only limit is how much TNT you can get to explode near you. In creative mode, you can fly to an infinite height.
People crash their copy minecraft a lot. But the one thing that almost never happens unless you are world editing something huge, is crashing the crash screen, which unfortunately, I managed to do on a flat world.
! was turning about 2 and a half million blocks of gravel into stone at the same time using worldedit. my game crashed, and the crash screen did not have the normal background. Instead, it has a screenshot that I took right before it crashed. Then, the crash screen crashed, over and over again.

Are you annoyed by adventure map makers failing attempts to drive you insane with the dialogue in their maps?
I have a solution. This map is that solution. Sure, the monster spawners might not work yet, and I haven't finished the dialogue, but this is still a work in progress. It will hopefully be ready for you to use at your convenience in a few weeks.
In this map, you wake up on the mountainside, facing the water. You do not remember anything. You look around. There is a path, and it must go somewhere. You do. You find a weird field full of redstone creations that no longer work. You find a working radio, and that is when it all begins.
This is a small map, but it is only part 1 of a 3 or 5 part series. Each update, this map will get harder. Each new part will be even harder, and more confusing. Screen shots and a trailer to come.
Please note, this map is intended for smart, hardcore fighters. No newbies.
Bring in a friend if you have a server. This map is designed for 1 to 4 players. I hope that this series will cover puzzles and survival later on.

I am an adventure map creator myself, using only single player commands and too many items, and it would have taken me years to do this. How did you do this so quickly? It seems mind-blowing.

Hello, and welcome to a totally new experience here in the minecraft forums. Today, I come to you all with something huge. Something extraordinary. For the past few months, a small team of minecrafters, including myself, have been designing a minecraft LP. This LP is specifically designed to span 6 worlds. We are ready to guide 100 people to building the 6 worlds that will change minecraft itself. No more shall people watch the yogscast for entertainment in a series that will end soon. No longer will people turn to the smart people for creations (I am smart, but not as smart as some people here).
I am ready to take 100 everyday minecrafters to five worlds on my own server in January to build these 6 epic worlds, each larger than any world people have ever seen before. We will embark on an epic quest involving the gods of minecraft themselves. We may have guests including the yogscast, captainsparklz, inthelittlewood, antvenom, seananners, notch, and many more.
If you are still slightly confused, me and my brother will be filming an LP that will be kind of like the yogscast's shadow of israphel series, except hundreds of times larger. We need about 100 people to be actors and actresses, not actually speaking, but playing the parts of characters in the story. These 100 people will also get to help us build the world. All of them will be recognised in the credits. These actors will all play multiple roles. Also, we will be the first yogscast type lp to have full cities of 100 people including many farmers and miners and workers who don't even make appearances in other LPs. I am also giving everyone an equal chance to get in, except those with servers of their own. Those people will be judged by thier servers capabilities, and only 2 will get in. These two servers will act as backup servers, just in case mine fails.
In your application, please include your real first name, your age and your timezone, so we can work out when to build and film. please email me applications, for I may not be able to check here often. Also, post your application here so other people can see who is applying. Anybody can get in, and I decide on people in January. apply quickly, or i may not see your applications. Also, all members of the cast will be checked for criminal backgrounds and such.
