    Animations

Again, go with blender for free, you can get a student edition of maya free, otherwise it costs 4 grand.

Blender is easy, and makes some good animations, also free.
Maya is expensive, hard to use (professionals use it), but it gives you an insane amount of options to do stuff.

    For animations:
Blender, it is free, easy to use, and good.
    For video editing:
    Imovie works fine...
    For sound editing:
    Garageband is also good

Did you even bother to read the thread?
Yes I did, what I was meaning is because he asked about ncix, they have a place where they build for you, and you chose the specs, not sure why I put the prebuilt in, that was my mistake.

Sorry, I missed the "." the period/decimal point. I meant to say 3.2 GHz.

I really want a computer that can handle Anno 2070 and runs cool and quiet. I usually only use one pair of speakers and would certainly not need anything more than 5.1 surround sound. Also, thank you (all) for recommending an Asus motherboard.

Also, do I need an account to order off NCIX? I have accounts at NewEgg and Amazon.

Are you planing to build a computer, get a prebuilt, or get a built for you custom computer?

Made a minor change to the SSD, here's an updated build: (I'll explain why I did that later)
    http://pcpartpicker.com/p/gUaL

I still have a couple of comments... :P

First off, the HAF X does come with an 8-pin extension cable, so you don't need to buy a separate one. The 24-pin should be fine regardless, so you don't need it. The motherboard does come with two sata cables, both SSD's come with their own so that should be fine too (note that the Samsung 830 didn't therefore I thought it wasn't that good of a deal after all).

CPU is slightly different, however performance is pretty much the same, especially when overclocked. Therefore I thought it wasn't worth the extra amount it costs. If you do stick with the 3770k however, you will need a Z77-based board else a BIOS-upgrade would be needed (which cannot be done, unless you have a Sandybridge CPU to flash it).

The board looks fine, I assume you want the extra USB ports it offers. As said however, a 3770k won't be compatible with it.

To be honest, I would recommend just sticking with 8GB of RAM. I doubt you will really need more even with your usage, plus you can add more if you do. RAM prices are constantly falling, so it's generally a lot cheaper to upgrade when you actually need it too. Unless you are going to be running renders and gaming at the same time, you shouldn't be needing more than 8GB. Vengeance memory won't bring any performance difference over the HyperX Blu either, which is noticeably cheaper (even with two kits, it costs $72).

Are you sure you want to stick with a 660Ti? It's a decent card, but remember that it may not be able to fully max out everything with games like BF3, therefore you may want to consider upping it to a GTX670.

In my opinion, the Crucial V4 is not worth it, at all. It's significantly slower than similarly priced units and the 330-series SSD I included in the modified build already comes with everything you need it install it anyways. HDD is fine, I admittedly forgot that you would need the extra storage space.

I'm confused why you are getting such a high-airflow case, then adding extra fans, then merely getting a Hyper 212 evo. First off, I really don't think the extra 200mm fan would be that necessary, the case already has got plenty of airflow. However, for CPU overclocking the HSF is what makes the largest difference and the NH-D14 would offer far superior performance at a higher price. Not too sure why you really need a fan controller either though, you can use something like speedfan if you want to slow them down.

If you want a highly reliable power supply, then a Silverstone ST75F-P, Antec HCP 750 or a Rosewill Fortress 750w would be better options. Note that the Antec and Rosewill units cost more, but are also quite a noticeable amount better. On a side note, a 650w would probably be fine with that rig, espesially with a GTX660 Ti or GTX670. The main reason I put in a 750w was to put lower load levels on the PSU and thus extend the lifespan. If you plan on adding a second card later on however, than I'd recommend a 800-900w PSU instead.

Lastly, do you really need Windows 7 Professional?

I heard win home premium only supports 4gb of ram, and besides that, I did everything you said, thanks for the help :)

I kept the cpu, and put a z77 mobo, and kept 16gb of ram. I put in the 670, and antec 850w (since I may want to eventually upgrade)

I have the fan controller just so that if I want to simply record a vlog I don't need fans going, and I like to be able to monitor temps by just glancing at my case even if I am away from my computer.

There are similar case such as the Rosewill Thor V2 (but no 1394a) and the HAF 932, however the airflow is a bit worse in comparison to the HAF. It won't make that much of a difference since case airflow doesn't affect component temperatures that much, but at that budget I'd just recommend getting what you prefer.

    Anyways, I'd recommend this:
    http://pcpartpicker.com/p/gTIX + peripherals
Should preform well with both gaming and 3D modeling.

Thanks, now my build is actually a lot like that one, I just have a corsair psu, 660 ti, and 16gb ram, diff mobo, and 2t of the seagate barracuda, so basically just upgraded most of the parts in there just so I can process videos and still have a decent cushion, and space

    Back on topic:

Why would you need so much space in your original build? Do you video edit? Do you 3d model?

I plan to do youtube recordings with editing and also I do use maya and blender.

This is cheaper, faster and of better quality:

    Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 (64-bit) ($90.95 @ Amazon)
    Total: $1684.36

This is only good if you're going to be doing video editing/rendering, otherwise get an i5-3570k and 8GB RAM. IMO you should just get rid of the Razer mouse as most of their products are just overpriced and overhyped.

After I threw in the monitor, keyboard, fan controller, mouse, ect. it hit even more than my first build :/ 2.3kish

HAF 922 is a good one for around $80, the KKN3 [read third generation] comes with a painted interior, and USB 3.0 on the front I/O panel

for cooling it has one 200mm intake on the front, and a 200mm exhaust on top, and an 80mm exhaust on back.

it also has room for 1 200mm or 2 120mm fans on the side, and a 120 or 140mm on the bottom.

from the reviews i've read cable management is very good.

Sadly I really need lots of usb 3s and 2s and also need the esata and 1394a

So many problems with that build.
    - Overpriced case. If you like the look of that case, I suggest the HAF 912 instead.
    - i7 isn't neccesary, an i5 will do. I suggest the 2500k, because by the looks of it, you're gonna be overclocking.
    - 32 Gigs of RAM? No. 8 Gigs will do, but you CAN go for 16 Gigs to be on the safe side (considering you will be doing video editing and rendering).
    - Switch the HDD to a Seagate Barracuda.
    - Overpriced Optical Drive, you don't need to spend more than 20 bucks on that.
    - CoolerMaster PSUs arent that good from what I've heard. You also don't need 1000W. 600 will probably be plenty.
    - The 560 is a bad GPU for the price and won't max out BF3. Spend the money you save with everything I mentioned above to get something better, like a 670.
That's all I've got, I probably missed some stuff, so wait for some more replies :)

Thanks for the input, this is actually a question I have asked multiple times and haven't gotten a good answer too, would 2 cheaper gpu's or or 1 670 be better?

Sadly I need the blue ray burner and that is the cheapest blue ray burner I have found.

Also, I am keeping the Haf X in for a few reasons, the fans, the cable management, huge space for parts, and because I really do need all the front i/o that the haf x has (the way my desk and room are it is extremely hard to have to go around the back of my computer.)

You are about to spend 2000 dollars on a PC where the CASE is more expensive than the GPU.

I don't plan to keep this gpu's for that long, about a year then I plan to upgrade to better gpu's, I plan to keep this case for a very long time. So yes, I bought a case with some of the biggest fans and biggest cable management. And I had to let it have enough room to put in bigger gpu's for later.

And you should recheck your math, the case is half of the gpus price...

I am going to make a gaming pc, here is the newegg wishlist, I don't want to spend more money if possible, as is this will still take me a decent chunk of time to get. I want to play high end games, skyrim on max, mw3 bf3 all on max, diablo 3, ect. Basically I want this to handel whatever I throw at it and plan to do lp's for youtube.

If you have any ideas on a change I should make then just post here. Also, someone told me this definitly wouldn't bottleneck, is that correct?

Done, thanks guys! I am all good now. Final:
    16gb ram
    2tb seagate barricuda
    2 MSI 660ti
    i7-3770k
    Corsair HX series 1050w psu
    Haf X case
    256gb ssd

Assorted extra (blueray burner, fan control, game mouse/keyboard ect.)

In my opinion you should get a nice gaming pc, while it does cost more, it is more versatile, you can email, easily go onto the internet, skype, teamspeak, ventrillo, and there are so many game for it, while it is more of an initial cost, it pays off with all the extra features you get.
