What is this mod?

Did you ever notice how underused the Jukebox is? Have you ever wished for a better jukebox, that could be activated by redstone? My friend, your wishes just came true.

This mod will add a new and improved Jukebox to the game, with lots of features that you waited for so long. Hope you like it, leave some feedback if you try it.

Version 4.0-beta

This should be an exact mirror of version 2.2, but for Minecraft 1.9 (tested on Forge 12.16.0.1865.).

NOTE: to activate the record trading, you must hold the blank record on your main hand.

• New block: Redstone Jukebox - holds up to 8 records;
• New item: Blank record - used to trade records with villagers;
• New game mechanic: Record trading - right-click a villager with a blank record in hand and it will open a special trading GUI. NOTE: Not all villagers can buy/sell records, but most do;
• Redstone jukebox play modes: Play once or Loop;
• Redstone jukebox play order: Sequence or Shuffled;
• Redstone jukebox outputs redstone signal to comparators, signal strength indicates current active slot;
• Noteblocks around the redstone jukebox can be used to amplify the sound range - up to 16 noteblocks that makes the music reach extra 128 blocks;
• Many parameters of this mod can be configured in-game, on the mod options;

v1.1 - 2013/05/09 - Now on 1.5.2
Mod updated to 1.5.2. Now the redstone update is complete .

Changes:
• Updated to Minecraft 1.5.2;
• Redstone Jukebox now can be powered from anywhere, not only from below;
• Redstone Jukebox only emits redstone signal to comparators;
• Signal strength = slot being played (1 to 8). Updates the signal when the record changes;
• Works with hoppers and droppers;
• Noteblocks works as amplifiers, each noteblock close to the Redstone Jukebox increases the sound range of the song in 8 blocks, up to +128 blocks. That is enough to clearly hear your music from very far away;
• Noteblocks used to amplify the music range will show music notes particles;
• After a record trade is made with a Villager, some music particles are shown;


v1.0 - 2013/05/04 - I'm alive!!!!!
After a big hiatus, I'm back. The mod was ported to Forge and it is fully funcional. It even works with FeedTheBeast (tested on the Mindcrack pack). Right now the mod works with Minecraft 1.4.7, but at this date, Minecraft 1.5.2 was just released and 1.6 looks really close.

Changes:
• Changed from ModLoader to Forge;
• Added tooltips on the jukebox GUI;
• New commands (playrecord, playrecordat and playbgmusic);
• New item - blank record;
• Special trades with villagers using blank records;
• It is now possible to add custom records to the game (must be ogg files);


2012/12/16 - Forge conversion close to done
Alright! The port to forge is 99% done. Lightning bugs also fixed and some small features added (tooltips on the Jukebox GUI).

It was pretty hard, I had to learn how to work with Forge event handlers, packets and how to sync client and server data. ModLoader was way easier, but I kind of used the "brute force" approach. Forge is harder to use, but offers many more features, I do not regret my decision.

Now I'll try to add the custom records thing and finish version 0.7 before Christmas.


2012/12/07 - Quick update
This mod is going Forge. Sorry, I tried to resist... I'll try to keep a ModLoader version updated as well, but some of the new features I want to add may be a bit different.

One of the two features I want to add is... Custom records. But no promisses yet!
