Hey, I can't log into minecraft. I know I installed the mod perfectly. I just can't log in. When I try to play offline, it just gives me the background to the title screen, followed by a black screen.
There are two things that could cause this problem. The first is not deleting the META file. Go back and double check, for some reason it came back for me and gave me the same problems that you described.
The second thing that it could be is that you aren't waiting long enough. The Aether mod can take a long time to load. After you double check the META file, load minecraft, just go do something else if it goes to the black screen. In 1.02 it did this to me but when I came back it was loaded.
An awesome world seed for 2 gold dungeons and 4, yes, 4 silver dungeons all sort of close together, is -622236924, I think that it has the negative sign, but I'm not sure. Try it out. :tongue.gif:
Great mod and everything ....but why do beds blow up in the Aether?
I built a house near a big drop going back down to the normal world and i was wondering if you could sleep at all and out of nowhere half of my house blew up as i right clicked on the bed and fell down.
I know that the day lasts forever and everything but is it really necessary to make the beds turn into a creeper?
Also i was mining the floor of a bronze dungeon with the zanite pickaxe and some blocks didnt break. the weird thing is the carved stone were in a perfect 7x7 formation and had two empty blocks between each other...
*snip*
p.s. other than that keep up the good work :biggrin.gif:
These are trap blocks, if you look at them closely they have a slightly different color with a diagonal split down the middle.
These are the blocks that spawn mobs in dungeons. When you step on them they spawn the sentries, or in the silver dungeon Valkyries.
ok, i have downloaded everything the mod says, over and over i have tried this again and again but i cant get the sound to work on the mod! I have audio mod all downloaded right and the mod even tried to re-write armour folder (Which i had to manually drag across the new aether armour or you don't have the normal types of armour!) Help!
Do not open the mod folder and copy the files! Just copy the mod folder and place it directly in the resources folder.
When did this thread turn into your own personal blog space?
The biggest reason this thread is 800+ pages is not just people asking the same thing over and over. It's also people insulting them for doing so (which is ultimately pointless).. and people constantly sidetracking into other subjects and derailing.
Why can't more of you just lurk like the rest of us. It would make the thread more manageable. If someone asks a dumb question that has been asked 100 times, ignore it, and leave them to figure it for themselves. If you are hardcore lurking to see if the update comes, don't think that is good reason to fill every page with your mindless blatherings.

You must be new here, or just desperate. Logic has no effect here.
The only easy way I can think of doing that is by simply going back to the surface, traveling for 10 or 15 minutes, and opening another portal. Also, if you have a phyg or moa on the surface you'll cover a ton of terrain in no time.
If you want to get really gutsy though you can backup your save, and delete some of the aether map files. Most likely it will just crash your game, but since Aether terrain generation isn't based on your seed, you won't get the same Aether if you're successful.
EDIT: Try deleting the DIM3 and/or the DIM-1 folders in your save, and let me know how it turns out - I'm curious :wink.gif:
Unforetunetly I don't have time tonight to test out your suggestion. Tomorrow I will have time to back-up my save file and play around with it. Since this topic grows so quickly I'll send you a PM with the results.
All I can hope is that when I delete some Aether related map files it won't try and endlessly search for them (resulting in a crash) but instead regenerate new ones.
I've helped a lot of people in this thread so hopefully someone can help me.
Right now I've pretty much explored my Aether, in every direction there is vast blank areas with no land in sight apart from a few coldclouds. It's not really worth going over since it takes forever and a half just to get the this area.
My question is if there is a way to delete the Aether map so that when I go through the portal it will be a fresh aether. I want to be able to keep my Aether items in a chest and bring them to the remade Aether so I can't just reload my pre-aether save of the map.

... *sigh*
The Aether isn't reliant on a worlds seed.

Very informative

I could use it to bash your head in for not reading the FIRST POST as well as the answers we've been giving you.
