Those are the HD issues I was talking about earlier. The first Snap to support HD in vanilla gave me no troubles, but after that the lag has been un-bearable. (It takes about 5 minutes just to get a screenshot for sample purposes...) Like you said, soon as you drop it to 256x it works a-okay though. Regardless, I am not beefing about this issue. I am sure it will be worked out when live comes to fruition.

    Doesn't matter.

At first, the game wouldn't load at all. Just the black screen. So I renamed my pack, so Minecraft would auto-switch back to default. This got the game to load, but as soon as I switched over to the 512 pack. Crash. (Report details posted in a post above)

This is where I am at in my thinking as well. I have added quite a bit, since even the last thread update (which was the Brewing Stand)

    Unfortunatly, I have added:
    CactusCut
    Cactus
    CactusTop
    CakeCut
    CakeSide
    CakeTop
    CakeBottom
    WoodenDoorLower
    WoodenDoorUpper
    IronDoorLower
    IronDoorUpper
    (Just to name a couple...)

I don't think that would be the culprit though. Just because MC stitches them together, and stretches/skews accordingly. (Example: Unfinished textures in ALL versions of my pack are still 16x )

Thank you! If I can stomach the ache (and the game lets me) I will be updating the thread with all those new blocks. For obvious reasons, I have been lazy with screen shot capturing :(

    Problem Update!

It is the Iron Door texture that was causing the beef (both of them). I seem to remember hearing door rendering problems elsewhere, though I also remember hearing "fixed" around the same time :P

    EDIT:
Lag is still unbearable though :(

I like what you've done so far. Enjoy an upvote and a cool, refreshing, bump-a-rooni.

    Keep 'em coming!

Thank you for the kind words! Bumping though, this thread won't need that for a few days still. Unfortunately, the snapshots have made updating the thread a pain in the rear...

As soon as I can get some reliable playability I have a ton of added content, as well as a full update prepared. I don't want to make the update live, until I can at least test it myself (without ULTRA lag) Seriously yo, my FPS is over -9000 under?

I had to vote for blocks in the poll just because of that awesome reference! Plus, blocks make up most of the pack, so I'd vote to get a majority of them done before shifting your focus to other parts anyway.

Yay! Someone liked my lousy humoratical abilitations! Their lameness is second only to my abilitation to creatify wordlings. (sigh)

As to the blocks, have no fear! I have been diligently busting iron butt (Iron man, iron butt...) getting blocks done. I am happy to say that every "A" and "B" block is complete. I am 1/2 the way through "C" and "D", not to mention the hopping (heh) I did to get the drop (heh) down on some newer textures. Plus some other "gems" (Gem = Yay not a default texture!)

Regardless, like I said above, I need the Snapshots to become more FPSFPS FriendlyPleaseSir FramesPerSecond! As we stand right now, the game won't even load if I have my pack selected (512x).

Advertisement: Now you too can experience the wonder that I face! All that is required is that you download the 512x version of the current pack, then download the most recent snapshot. Viola! Or Violin, whichever you want more. (Your lag should increase, if it does not. You sir, or madam, have magic in you.) Can I have some?

So out of curiosity adigregorio, I checked out your texture packs. While my computer is older than yours (32-bit Vista machine, but good graphics card), I have no crashing going on from just using the texture pack. All your resolutions work fine for me, though honestly it runs at 1-2 FPS on the 512x resolution - but at 256x and 64x it runs perfectly.

Those are the HD issues I was talking about earlier. The first Snap to support HD in vanilla gave me no troubles, but after that the lag has been un-bearable. What blocks are around you? Could it be specific to a certain block? Could minecraft be running out of memory? Let us in on your specs. I'm very curious about your issue.

    Doesn't matter.

One more thing, is it your "In work" texture pack? Do you have textures in it that aren't yet in the live downloads on your topic? Is there a chance they could be missing a pixel in height or some other odd nonsense?

This is where I am at in my thinking as well. I have added quite a bit, since even the last thread update (which was the Brewing Stand)

Also: Your texture pack is gorgeous so far. Keep up the work on it!

Works for me. Try re-downloading and let us know if you get it working.

I turned off my texture pack, and it worked.

Tried to switch back to it "in game options" and crashy washy :(

(Vanilla HD has been giving me troubles for the last few snaps, not surprised it got worse before better.)

PS: Keep up the good work Mojang (Seriously! Bugs is good, as long as quashing is happening.)

Didn't want my post to look negative!

I'm just getting a black screen... (After MOJANG)

Just thought I would throw that out there, and use it to get easy access to this thread
    :P

Update: Has to do with my (vanilla) HD texture pack. (I made the pack, so I know it's fancy enough to work. at least it did before...)

    Nether blaze isn't a mob...

True, but it is a suggestion to change the game in regards to a mob. How it spawns, what it is, all that is moot. Since that specific thing can be filed under Mobs (Enhancements to be precise)

    Quote from unitedsquadron3

Mist is a rare weather event.

    (Emphasis added)

    http://www.minecraft...weather-update/

We already have a thread for weather suggestions. This "event" should be in that thread, since that is the thread for weather suggestions.

    Quote from unitedsquadron3

The only way I can see this in a category is if a there was a category for topics that don't fit in any general place.
I could remove black chicken, and make it's own topic. It would be good.

We have an area for black chickens, it's the Mob section (First one, as a matter of fact!) Note that the section is divided into subsets, such as "Aggressive" or "Passive" etc. The chicken would fit fine in there.

I still stand by my first assertion, it's too much of a wish list. Remember wish list = more than one section. Break down a thread, can it be placed in more than one section in the list? (If so, then it is a wish list.)

There is one exception: Gameplay Changes

Please refrain from "wishlists" when suggesting.

Furthermore, many (if not all) of these ideas already have threads dedicated to them. Please check this thread: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1522805-read-firstcommonly-suggested-ideas-thread-updated-february-1st/

And run a search, before creating a suggestion.

    Skull candles: (Added)

Rare events: This is too much of a 'wish list', if you remove elements such as "weather" and "mob generation" maybe it could be viewed as a random event generator. The problem is:

    1) Mist = Weather
    2) Black Chicken = Mob
    3) Nether Blaze = Mob

The rest of the stuff could be considered "events"; however, with those three I have pointed out. It makes the thread a wish list. (Wish lists are when a thread can be put into more than one section in the OPost.) The "Rare Events!" falls under 4 categories right now...

    For everyone else!

Please be sure to only post links to suggestion threads in here, or to discuss the list. (IE If you think there is a better version of a suggestion, than what we have linked here.)

Of course I am ALWAYS available for a Private Message, if you would like to ask a general question. Like the reason my name is orange ;) (Orange Names = Sectional Moderators.)

If you have a suggestion, please check the list here to see if it has already been suggested. Then run a search for the suggestion via the search function. If nothing pops up, then by all means, create a thread for your suggestion. If it has the presentation requisites filled, it may just make it to the "official" list in the OPost :D

I saw a very nice suggestion on skull torches that would fit nicely here. I would also like to have you see the rare events page if you don't mind. Thanks!

While I am sure both of your suggestion quests---Those are like vision quests, except with suggestion threads instead of awesome visions--

While on those quests, the threads you saw must have been wondrous!! However, I was not along on the journey of discovery, and therefore I am unable to envision the threads that delighted you so.

Now! If you could provide a couple of links, I too could journey to the land of skull torchery, and rare eventery. Until then, I am stuck searching the boards, to no avail :(

(Just playing around of course. Post a couple of links up here, and I will take a look at them. You can also send me links via PM. I accept any and all links for consideration.)

I know there are a few boat threads out there already, but none had the presentation I was looking for in regards to a "main thread". If you can make a well thought out thread, with good presentation, then pop one up. I will add it to the list if if is awesome enough!

Which brings me to a point, if you're wondering what makes an "awesome" thread. Just browse through the ones already linked! Main points are "content" "imagery" and "posting style". That is to say, put some thought behind the thread. Include images, if warranted (usually always a good idea). And, make sure it is fun to read. Even if the suggestion doesn't pan out, give your audience a good time :)

Lastly, these are not "rules for posting a suggestion" just a little guide to making a suggestion great!
