Re: People running around on servers just plowing for experience.

What would be the purpose of that? It's not like experience is good for anything, other than enchanting...

    Re: Planting gives XP

I thought of this, however what happens if you plant on a plot (heh) that has no water and the seeds pop out? If folks will "exploit" plowing...

On third thought, make the act of harvesting a full crop garner the orbs.

Queue the "Folks will steal my crops for XP"

Again, do your attacks do more damage at higher levels? Do you get more health at higher levels? Better armors? Weapons?

    Or can you only enchant?

PS: The whole experience thing is kinda lame, and the fact that enchanting COSTS experience means that having non-grinding supply would be nice.

    You're quite welcome!

I am sure you will hit at least one or two snags, I will keep my eyes on this thread just in case.

Feel free to send a message with a specific question as well, I found the setting up of a server to be quite simple with this game.

(Getting quality players, THAT's another story entirely!)

Hmm I am afraid I know little when it comes to Macintosh...

I suggest running a Google search for (including quotation marks) "port forwarding Cisco ####"

The #### is the name of your router, or its model number.

I do not remember off hand the default port for Minecraft, check thier wiki for that use the search at the top and enter: server.properties

    Default port: 25565

Forward that port on your router, once that step is completed you need to figure out your IP address. Go back to google and type: What's my IP

It will be in bold at the top of the search. Pass that out to your friends and give them the port number as well.

Finally: If they are all playing off of your LAN (home network) all they will need to type for the IP is (oops! stupid me, been setting up a server/client machine...)

THEY will need to type in your local IP. It will be something like: 192.168.0.1 If this is the case (they are all on your local network) let me know and I will show how to figure out that IP.

    EDIT - Linkages!

Here is a place to find info on how to port forward. Gonna have to hunt down your router
    http://portforward.com/

Here is where to find your IP address:

    Pretty basic request layout.

There are several steps that have to be done, and depending on your hardware...well they are achieved differently.

For one, you are going to have to open up some ports on your network. This is done differently via your networks router, if you have a "Linksys" router I can walk you through it. If not, there may be a road block.

After you get your ports opened, you can distribute your IP to your friends and have them connect.

Experience on farming, have it so you have to "re-plow" after harvest. Then the act of plowing could garner the orbage.

As for a prediction, I would like to see trees that continue to grow. OR even just grow their leaves back after being pruned...

    Guess I should ask again...

If emeralds are "only currency" then what is pictured at the top of this thread?

"I am gonna remove the emerald ore, but I am going to add blocks you build with emerald ore... Oh and remember, emeralds are just currency!"
(That's where the confusion comes from...confusing statements.)

If there be no emerald ore, then where do emeralds come from?

Also, if emeralds are "currency only" then what the hell are the emerald blocks pictured above?

The only confusion he should be miffed with, is the confusion they create by not having a proper PR department.

"I am gonna remove the emerald ore, but I am going to add blocks you build with emerald ore... Oh and remember, emeralds are just currency!"
